General Fi

I now have a re se 12" running off of a hifonics amp that is putting 900rms at 2 ohms to the sub, in a 2 cubic foot enclosure ported at 32hz. would it be a sufficient upgrade to get a Fi Q 12", and put it in the same box with the same amp? i would run the amp at 1 ohm. it's 1 ohm stable at 1200rms. and both subs are within the specifications of the box. ups and downs of this upgrade? very noticable difference because of xmax? (RE=18mm, Q=27mm)

this is my first time going with fi.my question is im goung with 2 fibtl 18`s i have a cevy silveradp quad cab.my box is going to take up my whole back seat does anybody know what max rms i can put to them.its not compeition but i still want them to work at there full potential any amp or amps u guys can reccomend........thanks

i was just on fi site,does anyone know it the 18fibtl have good sound quality.i know they hit hard and i am not in competitions but will they be good for every day listening ??

:clap: i finally received my subs on monday the 15th and got them installed the same day but today the 19th i finall finished the install and cleaned it all up so it looks proper. just added my 2nd battery and did the big three with stinger pro 4 gauge wire. it sounds amazing and u feel every note with authority. i am a Fi customer for life now. http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac202/owenmakenna/005.jpg

My 18' Bl comes soon i wanna start workin on the box.......i want that shit loud and heard from a distance while it still pounds your insides!!! hhahaha....anyways what should i build a small box medium or large for my needs...can anyone explain the differences in the quaility of sounds from differnt size boxes???and when i mean large im talking like the size of my lancers trunk which isnt that large but still nice...

Today as i was listening to my music, my bass shut off. i turned off all power and parked my car at the house. I came out about half an hour later to find my car filling up with smoke and when i opened my trunk i found my port spewing smoke. After i was finally able to get the box out of the trunk, i examined the damage. The voice coil is pretty messed up along with the spider. I was curious if anyone had any clue what would cause that damage? today was an extremely hot day but i wouldn't think that would be enough to push my sub over the edge.. This made me smile if its truthful. I hope to be able to break 110 dB once I get both of my amps strapped to my 15. But still, is it most likely his in car speakers doing that? Or is it his sub?

Ok so I placed a order for a Bl 15 on May 28th. I have emailed everyone i can email with no response from anyone!! I was going to try something new for Scrapin the Coast this year and represent Fi Audio but it looks as if I will not be doing so because I havent recieved my sub. No matter how busy you guys are its no reason you cant say hey man your sub isnt going to ship within 3-7 days and I would happly with that. I'm wondering if anyone know if I have to upgrade anything if i just want to put a 12" FiQ in my trunk. I want to conserve trunk space so I'm not looking for a full out system just something for quality. Is this the right sub or should I get something else? Any suggestion on head units I been looking at pioneers and soud storm. Suggestion will be nice and ill look into them. I'm going to make a box and should be at about 1.8 Will post pictures when all done. Might not be up until later this year since im going on vacation :]. Switching from JBL to FI btw.

I have a 12" BL thats was dropped ans the basket broke right off the motor. I am planning on selling it and was wondering would you rather fix it yourself or buy it fixed? I am planning on JB Welding it back together. I will be selling 2. One is a month old and is perfectly fine. What do you guys think?? They are both 12" BL D2 w/Hyper Pole.

so my fi bl 18 is on the way along with my 2400watt amp,,,my cars alt only puts out 105 amps so ill be needing a 2nd battery...i dont wanna do the big 3 tom uch money so how can i hook up a battery??? -can i put the 2nd battery in my trunk??? -if so am i supposed to hook it up to the alt or do i just once in awhile recharge it??? -wtf?

I went from 4 alpine type R 12"s in a sealed box with a Hifonics 2008d Now i have a 15" FI BL with a sundown SAZ-1500d in a ported box tuned to 32hz and it kicks alpines ass, no question. From 4 subs to 1 now its louder, clearer, and has more low end. VERY VERY VERY satisfied!!! thanks! My rear view mirror wont stop slappin, and my doors are all flexing not to mention the roof, quarter panels, and hatch.

Right now I have 2 15" Fully loaded Fi BTL's old triple stack magnets. One needs a recone. They are daily versions as well. How do I know if I need to get the flat wind coil or the xmax coil? Assuming I need to get the same as my other one I dont know what it is cause I got it used. Would fully loaded mean mine have the xmax coil? Thanks!

Ok it's time to start thinking about my crappy alternator and electrical. I'll start out by asking if anybody in here has a 2003 Nissan Maxima and if they have a HO alt. or one with upgraded electrical stuff? I've found a couple for reasonable prices but the sites are somewhat iffy. I was hoping to get away with just doing the big 3, adding a battery, replacing the battery under the hood, and buying a capacitor. The alt. I have now puts out 100-125 amps from what I've seen and I also believe it's the original one that's in my car. What do you guys think? Should I definately upgrade the alternator? Or go with my other choices and try to avoid the alty. part? I als…

The previous BL weight was about 34pds IIRC... How much weight are they up to now with the new driver for the 15inch?

i am proud to say that i just placed my order for 2 - 12" Fi q subwoofers. i cant wait for them to arrive. i had 2 alpine type R subs hooked up to a 1000 watt hifonics monoblock amp. do you think these fi q subs will pound alot harder than the type R subs? The Q's will be powered by a brand new hifonics brutus amp rated at 2000 rms at 1 ohm. any comments or suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

I am due to receive my ups delivery of my 12" Fi Q's tomorrow and i cant wait. i am so impatient. i want some advice on how to properly break these subs in because i have never learned the proper way. with any other subs i had i just installed them correctly (properly set gains and what not) and then proceded to see what the can do. i have been addicted to car audio for some time now but i am always learning something new. any opinions/advice will be greatly appriciated. running a Rockford fosgate 2000.1 amp if anyone is wondering.
