Alright I just thought of a quick question. How is the BTL 18" response time? Is it so bad that all I could listen to is rap / bass cds? I know that 10" will have a better response time than 18" but by how much? I enjoy listening to bass heavy songs but not all the time. Same with rap, I enjoy listening to it but not all the time. I enjoy some d n b, some metal, some punk, some speed / grindcore and some other generas.

  2. OK well i had this box i made in my single cab pick up for my single cab pickup and well atm its tuned pretty low....i hit lows real badass...but the highs suck. SOOooo i am going to go ahead and make a new box that will be tuned differntly. What do you all prefer i mean i want loud bass that can be felt and heard. THe lows can be felt nicely and i can do small window shakes but i was told if i tune the box higher it would hit harder but of course lose sq.... I was thinking of tuning my box to 36. The subs btw are 2 Fi Bl 12'. Well the question i am really asking i guess is what would i achieve if i tune the box low(30) compared to high(37) My videos here http://www.youtu…

Wudup guys I need some help/advice once again about my box that I just picked up today..I made sure to include pictures so it'd be easier....well just look at it...a 15" BTL is going into it and i know it has the size. I punched the dimensions of the box into a box calculator and it's around 4cuft. But look at the ports..they look too small. Are they? I've never seen ports on a box for a BTL that look so small..look in the third picture. Also you can see that it's not an L shaped port...it just kind of ends..it's just straight as you can see in the third pic... Anyways it's supposed to be tuned to around 32hz but i can't figure out how i can make sure it is...any hel…

Hey guys help me out here i just have a couple short questions. I just ordered a 15" BTL not too long ago and I'm still undecided on what amp what buy. The two I'm stuck on are a Rocford T20001BD or an AudioQ 2200D. What would be a better fit for the sub? Another major thing I was curious on was which one would be better on power? I heard the T2K is very power hungry. Also which amp has better quality over all? Another thing is that I can pick up the AQ2200D for almost $200 less which is a big deciding factor. Does anybody have either of these amps that can give me some feedback on them? I'd appreciate any response and advice. Thanks.

Is there any advantage or disadvantage in going with the Bp version. Plus should I get the 2 ohm version? Right now Ive got 600w into 2 ohms.. The Pioneer Mono doesnt do 1 ohm... I will upgrade someday... And lastly with the SQ of this sub be much better than the Pioneer sub I have? Below are the specs and I know specs dont mean that much... Hey guys, Just wanted to say thank you before I start all this out. I have been looking for a good subwoofer now for a few weeks and came to Fi's website and started looking at posts / subs. These seem to be one of the top subs out there for the price. Anyway, just a quick reason for why I am here. My sister died in a car accident about two and a half weeks ago (May 15th) and in her name I would like to build a competition / everyday car. Now I am not saying this for pity or anything like it. I am just trying to start off the reason why I am here. She loved car audio, I was not into it that much. But I would like to get into it. Simply put, I know almost nothing about su…

Ladies/Gents, We're looking at a 3 week wait currently with the BTL's. I've had numerous emails of people asking "Where is my BTL" and somehow they missed the flashing red letters on the website that says "Current lead time as of x/x/xx is 3 weeks" So..here's a picture. This means that it will be 3 weeks before we get magnets in. Then additional build/ship time for your speakers. If you order now, you get free cooling and a T-shirt with your order for being patient and waiting. Thanks! Nick

Ok, so i currently own a vw mk5 gti, and it has a rather small trunk space to say the least i plan on a small 12" sub. This is the trunk space i have to work with. (Picture is not my trunk) A friend of mine had a few 18" BTL's in his truck, big fan of steve meade. He says he would recommend nothing but Fi Audio for subwoofers. So im going to take his advice and go with that. I also will be using that for daily sound not SPL. He suggested the BTL 12" , unfortunately i dont know much about them, and he isnt around enough to be a big help. I realistically dont need the 2000 watts atm, but it would be nice to have that option for later, but someone i know said its not good …

i am proud to say that i just placed my order for 2 - 12" Fi q subwoofers. i cant wait for them to arrive. i had 2 alpine type R subs hooked up to a 1000 watt hifonics monoblock amp. do you think these fi q subs will pound alot harder than the type R subs? The Q's will be powered by a brand new hifonics brutus amp rated at 2000 rms at 1 ohm. any comments or suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

So everything for my system shall be arriving very soon and I am already to hook it up. I am running a 18" BL with a sundown 1500, now my question is how do i properly break in the subs. I know consistent volume etc. the question I have is what my gain shall be set to. I know what clipping is and everything but as it being a new sub how am I supposed to know what to set it to. After I set it is it supposed to be changed to go along with the break in. As far as my HU goes I have a Alpine cde-102, cheap i know but it will do the trick. The HU has features such as sub woofer control which is 0-15, and many other things, the other question is for that is what I should be sett…

Well my avalanche is officially done. The suspension was getting loose as it was and I apparently smoked the coils. I was listening to white girl when my car suddenly started to fill with smoke. It kept playing after that believe it or not but it was alot quieter and now it's cutting in and out. I know on the main site it says you guys recone other companies subs and considering the fi and AA connection I know this is where to go. However I didn't see any links to follow. Who do I get in contact with to get a recone kit sent to me? Can I get a cool new dustcap? (i'd like a new AA one, but whatever, just sick of the plain black)

So when I first got my 2 12" btl's they got low and loud. I have had them almost a month and now they don't sound the same. It's late so I havent put a dmm on the so I don't know if something happened with the coils but I never smelt anything. One day they were hitting real low and I thought I heard a pop but they still sounded great, may I have over done it? Any ideas???

I'm looking to get a 15" SSD and was wondering what options should I choose. I read the sticky and know what they all do but want someone with experience for their input. What options should I get? I was thinking just getting the copper coils. I'm looking mostly for loudness but I do want to maintain some sound quality. I e-mailed FI but they haven't got back to me yet and I'm anxious to buy the sub.

  21. so what is it with fi customer service :/ do they not give you a shipping / payment confirmation email at the least? I ordered a recone kit on friday may 22nd before 3pm and have yet to hear a damn peep from anyone @ fi yet they had no problem communicating with me through email pre-payment being sent... i'd like to not put fi under the shitty customer service category, but it's heading that way. i sent out an e-mail to scott / nick / recone / orders @ ficaraudio.com, hopefully I get some kinda results. I trust everything will be resolved, but when? how long must I wait? if it hasn't even been processed and shipped yet i'll be pretty effin pissed..

OK... given that this is our 4000th topic (after the crash of 2008...lol), I felt it would be a good time to introduce some of our new giveaways and contests. We will edit this post with our daily schedule for free promo items with orders (like T-Shirt Tuesdays... first dozen sub orders get free t-shirts...) We will also announce weekly contests for products as well. Adding the new apparel warehouse, we are greatly expanding POP items and our promo capabilities. And as usual... we would like to pass it along to our customers. Updates tomorrow... Thanks, Scott
