So everything for my system shall be arriving very soon and I am already to hook it up. I am running a 18" BL with a sundown 1500, now my question is how do i properly break in the subs. I know consistent volume etc. the question I have is what my gain shall be set to. I know what clipping is and everything but as it being a new sub how am I supposed to know what to set it to. After I set it is it supposed to be changed to go along with the break in. As far as my HU goes I have a Alpine cde-102, cheap i know but it will do the trick. The HU has features such as sub woofer control which is 0-15, and many other things, the other question is for that is what I should be sett…

So heres the thing. I got my Q 12' about 3 days ago and my amp just came in today. So i screwed with the gain and the hz and put the db all the way up. So im pounding really hard on the volume of 4 and my amp (Kicker Zx 1000.1) go's to 11.. I dont want to give my sub to much power on the first day. So im rollin the streets of downtown hot springs and my (thinks hes hard) friends like "dude you got your system" and im like "yea broseph its tight" and hes like "its def not as loud as mine but it looks cool, i like the fi symbol" so im like yea ok cool..(he has 2 memphis Mojo 15's powered by a lanzar)..lol..(lanzar) so anywho he turns it up (cranks it up) and hes like yeaaaa…

Hey guys, Just wanted to say thank you before I start all this out. I have been looking for a good subwoofer now for a few weeks and came to Fi's website and started looking at posts / subs. These seem to be one of the top subs out there for the price. Anyway, just a quick reason for why I am here. My sister died in a car accident about two and a half weeks ago (May 15th) and in her name I would like to build a competition / everyday car. Now I am not saying this for pity or anything like it. I am just trying to start off the reason why I am here. She loved car audio, I was not into it that much. But I would like to get into it. Simply put, I know almost nothing about su…

Few questions before I go ordering my 15 BL .5ohm with options. 1. Will ordering online yield prompt service or should I contact directly? 2. What is the current wait time. I want to know before I order. Not worried about the overall time but if it's a month after expected build time then that will be unacceptable. 3. Which shipping company do you guys use if not UPS? How much will it be insured for? Believe that's all I have for now. Look forward to doing business soon. Thanks Mike G

Now that I'm working agian, I'm ready to spend some of the money I just made... I have a Q10 and talked to Nick a while back about changing the coils from dual 1ohm to dual 2ohm in order to match my sae-1000D better. My question is: since the sub would be in the hands of Fi for the recone to change the coils, would it be worth it to upsize to a bigger cone as well? such as a 12 or 15? I will run this sealed because it is in an extended cab s10. So basically, will going from 600rms to 1100rms make a big difference or not? Thanks in advance, Mike B.

Getting used to the BLs... so got a ?... well first off the rear deck is cut out in the center already to allow more air into the car (rear seat's don't fold down). When I had 12s I had a box design with the port facing up but put in the old box with port facing foward and it was louder that way. But with that design there was ~ 4" gap between the port and the cutout.. If I designed a new box that had say aeros coming out right to the rear deck, or just the port designed to fit flush in the rear deck think it would get louder? But I've been told the issue was I have to completly seal off the trunk from the car to make it work.... any input is apprecited.. thank you .

Props to FI,as i said we are getting ready for a 3x dbdrag in Pa. so i slapped a box together to give me a starting point, lol,,and i didnt expect much out of it because we hadent tuned the encloser in yet as to my suprise it burped a 148.3 in the zx3...enough said i couldnt ask for a better starting point...i think if i can stabalize my voltage and build a few more boxes i should be able to run into the 50s.

So I was checking out some more vids of systems today and being bored, and realized how many people have switched over to a woofer designed by Scott, mainly Fi. It seems everyday new videos are being broadcasted with Fi woofers tearing apart daily vehicles, along with competitions being won on local and championship levels. My question to everyone on this forum is, "are we living during the era of the God of Bass?" Just begin to look around the web, I believe the victor is clear. Scott Atwell is the God of Bass. Just want to acknowledge Scott and everyone at Fi for all the hardwork, I know as Fi has been growing I'm sure your hours have been too. Keep up the great …

Okay everyone I am going to order later this week and I need to make sure I am doing everything right. This is my first system. I mostly listen to rap but I like rock too. Its going in a '97 tercel. I'm going to get the dual 2ohm ssd 15", and I'm gonna have it running at 1000wattsRMS@1ohm off of a Hifonics Txi1008D. Which should I get the flatwind or copper coil? I'll be running 8GA. And the box I'm going for is 3.6cuft after port and displacement. Port is tuned @ 33hz. I have 40 inches of square port. Its 34"W/17.5"H/16"D And just to make sure I did a picture on paint, here ya go. Am I ready to order?

I am pretty sure I will be running 4 Q's in my new setup. My big question....what are some good amps to match them up to. I was thinking about 2 amps allowing for 2 subs on one amp so if one amp died on me it would be cheaper to get a new amp. Here is what I was thinking so far: Kicker 2500's>>>allow about 1250 watts per Q (not sure how Kicker amps are, good price though ) RF 2000's>>>>>Love the look of these amps, but they are a little more costly. Sundown 3000>>>Afraid 1500 watts will be to much for a Q. Sexy amp though MTX Thunder Elite 4000>>>No clue at all about MTX, nice lookin amp, would have to run a 2 Ohm load. Any…

Ok, well...here this goes, hopefully yall can help. My current truck has 6 6x8's in it by RF, the power series. Gets loud. My new truck, on the other hand, is set up for some components. I will also be making a custom console to allow room for more speakers. What is a good brand that gets loud as hell and can stand up to the 15" BTL's I will be pushing. Also, what size speakers should I put in the custom console??

This time its in daylight and is much shorter because people complained on those points last time haha Although this time im driving and its not that easy to control the car and film while having that much bass ripping though the steering wheel haha Update on sub, its loud and insane, ive done several upgrades such as cleaned everything up, the big 3 and moved things around and I seriously could not believe what a massive differnce the big 3 made on how loud this sub goes! edit* oh and please rate and comment if you like, 5* would be nice

Hey guys, new to the forums here. I want to place an order for a sub (18" BTL) but the dilema is that I live down under in australia.... I have already emailed FI and got details on the shipping, which they actually do ship out here WHICH IS GREAT!, thank you FI!, and the cost for shipping the beast of a sub is $281 >_> which is cool by me cos its worth it to get the sub lol, so I emailed them again asking whats the best way to do this, but havent recieved a reply,, are they really busy or something because of the holiday season?. and their email is always full and have to send it to orders@... instead of sales@... so yeh thats pretty much it, thanks guys.
