I have a ported box now but i thought for fun i would change the port length to get me a tuning of 28hz. Becuse of the lower tuning will that do anything to the efficenty of the design? Would be audibly different while playing? I thought it would drop lower when i put it in from the begining. thanks

I just ordered 2 recone kits for my FI BL 12's that are fully loaded from when FI was doing 4 inch voice coils in the BL's. I am trying to find out through FI if the recone kits i ordered can be offered with the 4 inch voice coil and if not will the recone kits i ordered work for my subs?? I left a note in the comments on my order but no response yet from FI.

This is somewhat of an extension of my other thread.... I decided to sell my Q15's to buy a pair of BTL's, but that would required alot more upgrades to my system (batts, alts, and bears oh my) This morning, while I was sippin on my coffee, I was thinking that I could ADD 2 more Q15's and an amp running around 4k-5k watts and keep it sealed. Yes, it would still put more stress on my electrical system, but I am more equiped to handle that ATM. I have dual batts and a 140 amp alt and lots and lots of 0awg. Well i got my first 18in btl and all i can say is wow. definitely impressed with this baby and cant wait to order the second. Hey all. I'm upgrading my low-end from 2 12" Xplods and I've settled on 2 15" Fi Qs, with BP Power, pushed by an AQ2200D amp. I'm looking at putting them in a ported box, but I realize this box is going to be quite large (my trunk dims are 40" deep, 19" high, 48" wide). Fi recommends 2.8-4cuft so the box would need to be 6-8cuft right? I'm thinking about tuning it at 32Hz, from what I've heard from a lot of people with these subs. I listen to hip/hop and rap mostly, and I love songs that get low (like Gorilla Zoe or Young Jeezy songs for example). Is this a good tuning freq? I don't want to completely lose some of the "higher" bass notes but I want an extremely solid low…

Hello There. I don't know if you all remember me, however I had started a log a while back for my subwoofer...and was wondering if I could make another here. I'm thinking that I will get the cooling upgrade for sure, but I wasn't sure about the flatwind coils. I just sold my Q12 (and a 15), I bought and installed 2 Rl-i8's and they sound great, but I just miss that deep loud low sound from a 12. The Rl-i's are little monsters don't get me wrong and they get low, but they're 8's, impressive as they may be, I don't know I just miss the Q12. I got rid of it due to space limitations in my truck. But I would be willing to give up that space again, in a small sealed enclosure. Now I was also looking at the TC-3000, I'm just skeptical of TC's CS and lack of info about the subs. so i noticed last week that my lows were not making my heart beat off tune... i thought perhaps i am just getting used to my subs and it was time to upgread today me and my sister went to the store, i was on the way back and i turned it up.. and the low end was there.. but not like it used to be.. to i whipped in behind a big box store and poped my trunk.. and what did i see my subs jumping out of the box at me! i broke, a buncha screws... and there were a buncha screws that pulled out of the wood. its maybe time to build a new box. im very glad that the cone had the tensil pad otherwise im sure it would have rubbed thru no sprider crackage no other sign …

I took my sub (btl) out to test out another sub and then I notice it.....damn tensels ate into the spiders. I was wondering, do the new recones come with the tensels woven into the spider? And how much would it be shipped to austin texas 78741. I'll have to wait to get it but I AM A play this one out until it dies. kinda broke. thanks

I have a 2007 hyudai accent hatch back. right now i have a 12" kicker L3 that has blown, and a kicker zx 400.1 amp (new) . what would be my best bet for a loud clean sub using the kicker zx 400.1. 12" SSD or 12" X (both fully loaded)?

I'm looking to try a new driver in my home theater and after hearing nothing but good stuff about Fi I think its time to give them a try. I am considring the Q15 or Q18. The enclosure is sealed with a net volume around 7 cubic feet. The amp is a Face F1200TS and I will run the sub off of one channel leaving the other channel free for a second sub in the near future. I have a dcx2496 in the chain between my Marantz 7002 and the Face amp. I am open to suggestions if anyone has an opinion of a different Fi driver to try.

Which amp would you guys and girls use if you had a fully loaded 10" ssd????

After some time being away and such I'm getting ready to order an Amp and a BL 15". I've been looking to buy a Kicker ZX1000.1 but I have yet to be able to understand the relation of ohms between amps and subs...I'm terrible at math. The amp does 1000W RMS at 2 ohms so does that mean I would want the 1 ohm option with the BL? --Thanks for any replies.

Just wanted to stop and say thankls to all the guys on here and the guys from Fi just got my 2 18 btls in chevy trailblazer 15 cubicft tuned to 34 hrtz sounds like nothing i have ever heard before thanks to all who helped me reserch on this forum and persuading me into buying Fi best subs around hands Down Vids Coming soon
