Alright, for the last year and a half iv been planning on getting the 10" SSD till recently i found a steal of a deal on craigslist for a 12"Q for 100 bucks duel 1.75 ohm coils Currently i have it in a ported box with 600W RMS running to it at 4 (3.5)ohms. My question is if i run it with both positives and negatives together insted of series and it turns into 1 (.87)Ohms will it be too much being alittle under 1 ohm load? if not then what would be a good amp to push it at 1 ohm 1000 RMS? My plan in the end is to get a sealed encloser with 1000 RMS @ 1 ohm since i like sealed better and getting a 1000RMS 4 ohm amp is expensive as hell.. thanks for helping an taking th…

Wondering on what options to order on the BTL subs for spl use only. Want to use 5,000 to 10,000 watts each. This is a new build in a 90 Astro van.

I'm thinking of getting one Q12 and powering it with a Kicker ZX1000.1 at 2ohms. I listen to mostly rap music and I'm looking for a sub that will give me accurate bass and can also give me great high and low bass. I hear the Q is great on low bass but I was wondering how is it at high bass? I know that getting a set of 10's would probably give me better high bass, but I'm looking for something that will give me a good mix of both.

i have a Bl 15" that is blown and it needs to be sent in and repaired. but while its being repaired i was wondering if theres a way to upgrade it to handle 1500 rms..if so how much would all this cost to get fixed? or would it just be cheaper buying a fully loaded new one?

Sorry for all of the NooB questions lately. I'm just undecisive right now. I do know I want to go with the BTL drivers, but not sure which combination. I have the budget, I have the space required. I'm not sure if I want 2 15" BTLs with 2k each or 1 18" btl with 3000-3500 to it. How do the Btl's compare to the MTX 9500 and the JL W7? Personally, I dont care for the JL, but I love the 9500s. I have a Hifonics 1505d amp and 8.8 CF of space to work with in my truck. Can i make a 18 work? If not whats the minimum i would need? The box is going to be down firing, as i measured it will be 4" off the floor. Lastly could i make a sealed box for these subs? Any pros/cons? Thank you.

ok so i have a 2006 chevy silverado krew cab and im going to remove the back seats and install front seats in the back(without the center console) now i know for a fact that i will be running only 1 and i want the BTLs but i dont know what sub to go with 12 or 15. also i was going to use a MA HK4000D amp to run the 12 but i wouldnt be sure what to run the 15 with if i decide to get that. im a do it your selfer and i have the time and the space to wire everything and make the box im just stuck on that issue.i listen to rap/metal/rock.

I am going to change up my system, and i am trying to decide between two FI BL 12"s or four Kicker L5 12"s. I listen to mostly hip hop and rap, with some rock. I currently have 2 15" L7s, being powered by a MA AUdio HK802SX amp. I am going to upgrade the amp.. but it kinda depends on what sub setup i go with. I have just over 6cuft of space to play with... So what do you think, 2 Bl12"s or 4 L5 12"s? What will give me a better sound for all types of music? Any amp recomendations?

Hello, I am strongly considering getting some FI BLs. First, i have to say that i am very impressed with the videos I have seen of what these subs can do. I have not heard any in person, but i also hear the Sound quality is amazing. I have a good understanding of car audio and installs, im no expert. Here is some questions i have: looking at the FI BL 12" "Re: 0.75 Ohms/coil | 1.5 Ohms/coil" what is this? i thought the D1 and d2 options where ohms loads per voice coil? I have made one slight mistake on an ohm load and fried a very good sub, cause my calculations were less then 1/2ohm off. If i buy 2 FI BL 12"s can I safely run a D2 off a single channel amp? Run…

Alright, first post here, but I'm not a newb. Been building boxes and installing for 9 years or so. I just ripped my wall out of my 01 Implala (4 RE SX 15s, Mojo 4000d, 5 batts...) and I picked up a pair of Q18s from a friend of mine. The following equipment is being used: Alpine 9886, ID Chameleon Components, old school Orion 2500d (the all silver one) and an old Orion 300.2, alt is an Iraggi 200amp. After I ripped my wall out I ran just the 300.2 on my components and ended up with some horrible alternator whine. I've never had whine before. So I got my 2 Q 15's installed in the box (7cuft @ 32Hz), running off an AQ2200D, and installed my 36sqft of Damplifier Pro (great stuff FYI) but I seem to be having a problem getting the bass into the cabin. I knew that I'd probably run into this problem with such a big box so I'm weighing my options now. The box is rear facing, and when I pull it within about 6"-8" from the back of the car the bass seems to be the "best", but I still have limited clearance around the top and sides of the box. The bass sounds extremely peaky at higher frequencies (60-80Hz) and I believe this is because the trunk is actually functioning something like a double vented bandpass and blocking…

I need grilles for my 2 10" SSD's. Not the metra universal mesh ones please. I dont like the look of thoes. Does anyone know of any that I can use? I am not sure that grilles from Kicker, Fosgate, Polk, etc will clear the excursion of the Fi's. Please help if you can. I need them for protection more so than looks, with the exception of that horrible mesh, anything will do. Thanks in advance

Hey guys, I've been doing a lot of research lately and I've come down to two setups that I'm really considering. I haven't listened to many subs personally, but I want my system to be a lout louder than one 15" Mofo. My buddy has a 15" Mofo and it just doesn't impress me. I listen to mostly rap and hip hop and a little bit of rock. Below are the two setups I've been considering. 1) Two Dual 1 Ohm 12" Fi SSD's powered by Cadence ZRS-7500D. I got one last week and the other one today. I like how the first one that came in had the black basket, but not a big deal cause it wont be seen. Box build may begin tomorrow after work, but will start sunday for sure. oh yeah, they are BL 18's D2 with cooling, flatwind, universal, and daily and will be run with 2 saz-1500d's.

I am new guy around here looking for your guys expertise. I have a 94 camaro 3.4L and I am currently running an old school Memphis 500 D amp to a single P3 in a 2.3 cubic ft sealed box. Obviously space is my limit. I am looking to get my hands on one of the MD2D US Amps. I cant decide if I wanna add another P3 and run two 12" or upgrade my sub to one kick ass 12. If I do so I would like to keep the same box I have. I am after some deep bass, something that can take your breath away. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Zack
