I'm upgrading from fully a loaded bl to fully loaded btl (d2) This is my (Soon To Come) setup is it good or not? I have a Hifonics 1505d amp and 8.8 CF of space to work with in my truck. Can i make a 18 work? If not whats the minimum i would need? The box is going to be down firing, as i measured it will be 4" off the floor. Lastly could i make a sealed box for these subs? Any pros/cons? Thank you.

Alright, first post here, but I'm not a newb. Been building boxes and installing for 9 years or so. I just ripped my wall out of my 01 Implala (4 RE SX 15s, Mojo 4000d, 5 batts...) and I picked up a pair of Q18s from a friend of mine. The following equipment is being used: Alpine 9886, ID Chameleon Components, old school Orion 2500d (the all silver one) and an old Orion 300.2, alt is an Iraggi 200amp. After I ripped my wall out I ran just the 300.2 on my components and ended up with some horrible alternator whine. I've never had whine before. Hey guys, I've been doing a lot of research lately and I've come down to two setups that I'm really considering. I haven't listened to many subs personally, but I want my system to be a lout louder than one 15" Mofo. My buddy has a 15" Mofo and it just doesn't impress me. I listen to mostly rap and hip hop and a little bit of rock. Below are the two setups I've been considering. 1) Two Dual 1 Ohm 12" Fi SSD's powered by Cadence ZRS-7500D. So I got my 2 Q 15's installed in the box (7cuft @ 32Hz), running off an AQ2200D, and installed my 36sqft of Damplifier Pro (great stuff FYI) but I seem to be having a problem getting the bass into the cabin. I knew that I'd probably run into this problem with such a big box so I'm weighing my options now. The box is rear facing, and when I pull it within about 6"-8" from the back of the car the bass seems to be the "best", but I still have limited clearance around the top and sides of the box. The bass sounds extremely peaky at higher frequencies (60-80Hz) and I believe this is because the trunk is actually functioning something like a double vented bandpass and blocking…

I am going to change up my system, and i am trying to decide between two FI BL 12"s or four Kicker L5 12"s. I listen to mostly hip hop and rap, with some rock. I currently have 2 15" L7s, being powered by a MA AUdio HK802SX amp. I am going to upgrade the amp.. but it kinda depends on what sub setup i go with. I have just over 6cuft of space to play with... So what do you think, 2 Bl12"s or 4 L5 12"s? What will give me a better sound for all types of music? Any amp recomendations?

Hello, I am strongly considering getting some FI BLs. First, i have to say that i am very impressed with the videos I have seen of what these subs can do. I have not heard any in person, but i also hear the Sound quality is amazing. I have a good understanding of car audio and installs, im no expert. Here is some questions i have: looking at the FI BL 12" "Re: 0.75 Ohms/coil | 1.5 Ohms/coil" what is this? i thought the D1 and d2 options where ohms loads per voice coil? I have made one slight mistake on an ohm load and fried a very good sub, cause my calculations were less then 1/2ohm off. If i buy 2 FI BL 12"s can I safely run a D2 off a single channel amp? Run…

Hey everybody, I'm new here and new to Fi products. I heard a single 15" in a local parking lot and was blown away. I'm looking to purchase an 18" BTL (any other suggestions?) enclosed in a ported box. I'm trying to stay under the $1500 mark . I really have no idea what amp I should purchase or if 2 15" will be louder. I'm 16 and I don't have my car yet, but I will be getting a 2004 Pathfinder. P.s I'm trying to out do my friends 2 15" mojos with a 3000 watt stetsom amp. Any suggestions on a set up would be awesome (and the final cost of course) Thanks, Daniel

I am new guy around here looking for your guys expertise. I have a 94 camaro 3.4L and I am currently running an old school Memphis 500 D amp to a single P3 in a 2.3 cubic ft sealed box. Obviously space is my limit. I am looking to get my hands on one of the MD2D US Amps. I cant decide if I wanna add another P3 and run two 12" or upgrade my sub to one kick ass 12. If I do so I would like to keep the same box I have. I am after some deep bass, something that can take your breath away. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Zack

My dad used to be really big into car audio and dbdrag's and stuff back in the day I'm talking about back in the early 90's when cerwin vega and JL was top of the line.and he is going to be helping me with my install. I was telling him about my 15" SSD and running it at around 1000 watts @1ohm. He said running your amp at a 1ohm load is bad for the amp because he said it will overheat allot quicker. He also said I will be going through amps like tissues if I run them @1ohm As long as I have my gains set right and I don't clip my amp won't overheat and crap out will it?

I plan on buying 1 18'' Fi.BL with these options:dual 2 ohm,cooling,flatwind coil,daily option.Hooked up to a US Amps MD1D thats 1200 rms at 1 ohm.the BL's handle 1000 rms do you think the bl can handle the whole 1200 rms from the amp?I love loud bass but want it to hit low notes as well so what should i tune it to? With a ported box from 6-9 cubic ft. BTW just for a lucky guess how much db will I possibly b hitting will it be over 145db possibly 148db-149db.is that loud? Please answer all my questions. P.S. I found the US Amps MD1D for just 209.00 is that a good price or is it the base price? Also how good are US Amps from a 1/10? Are they better than Kicker and Hifonics…

I ordered a sub With the SPL Option. Someone told me that you could play the sub really loud for short periods of time and it wasnt for just driving around with it loud. But i am now finding out that it isnt like that at all i was wondering if anyone could help explain too me what SPL is.?

as stated, I'm between these two subs. the r is rated @ 750 rms, and the bl is 1000 rms + whatever the flatwind coil and cooling adds. I'd love to get the bl15 cause I hear it absolutely pounds, but I'm scared my amp wont do it justice. Whats my best option? im open to any brand/size of subs too, looking to spend up to $275-300 thanks

soo i have looked all over and i cant figure out how i should wire my sub to my amp.. i have a rockford fosgate t3001bd and a fi btl 18 fully loaded.... should i do it one ohm and how would i wire my sub and amps down to one ohm.. ohms are extremly confusing to me edit- and my sub is dual 2 ohm

Okay everyone I am going to order later this week and I need to make sure I am doing everything right. This is my first system. I mostly listen to rap but I like rock too. Its going in a '97 tercel. I'm going to get the dual 2ohm ssd 15", and I'm gonna have it running at 1000wattsRMS@1ohm off of a Hifonics Txi1008D. Which should I get the flatwind or copper coil? I'll be running 8GA. And the box I'm going for is 3.6cuft after port and displacement. Port is tuned @ 33hz. I have 40 inches of square port. Its 34"W/17.5"H/16"D And just to make sure I did a picture on paint, here ya go. Am I ready to order?

I have a blown 19Ov.2 Is it possible to get a recone for this motor??? The VC is 2.5" I'd like to recone it down to a 12 or a 10 if possible. Thanks
