Ok heres the deal. I have a 04 Crown Vic, front stage only no rear fill and the rear speakers removed from the deck. I have been seriously looking into getting a pair of Q 15s for the last few months but a few things have come up with the family that has side tracked me but Im on point now. I have a pair of Orion 1200d for power but heres my question. I see the new options for the Qs and was considering selling my Orions and picking up a Hifonics XX Thor. I also considered a pair of fully loaded BL 15s with the power I have but I just dont know. I am coming from a background of mainly sealed boxes and this would be my first in my own install. ( I have assisted and listen …

I was just wondering if anyone has ordered a Fi recently and what the shipping time was like. I ordered mine on the 7th and was hoping to get the build done over spring break which is the 16-20 for me. Thanks

  4. Okay everyone I am going to order later this week and I need to make sure I am doing everything right. This is my first system. I mostly listen to rap but I like rock too. Its going in a '97 tercel. I'm going to get the dual 2ohm ssd 15", and I'm gonna have it running at 1000wattsRMS@1ohm off of a Hifonics Txi1008D. Which should I get the flatwind or copper coil? I'll be running 8GA. And the box I'm going for is 3.6cuft after port and displacement. Port is tuned @ 33hz. I have 40 inches of square port. Its 34"W/17.5"H/16"D And just to make sure I did a picture on paint, here ya go. Am I ready to order?

I have been competing in MECA for the last couple years, and due to the rule changes Im dropping out. So now Im headed back into a daily set up, no longer chasing numbers. I have both the ufo mag and n2 btl's and love both, I finally got a blazer and am looking for a just a monster daily system. Both my btl's are 12s, since I now have a blazer I will be looking at an 18. Question being....what would fit my bill better, going with a sp4 or just reconing one of my current btl's to an 18. Will be on a saz3500 with the proper electrical.

  6. Ok, I have posted several things in the past asking question to help me with my own vehicle setup, now for something a little off the wall. I am getting ready to have to write a thesis and would love to write it on the mathematics behind subwoofers, car audio, etc. As you can tell from my previous posts I don't have to much of an idea of the all-around idea of mathematics. I was wondering if ya'll could point me in the right direction for anything regarding any type of mathematics behind car audio, etc. Again I know this is a odd request, but I researched every major mathematics college and no paper has ever really been written about this from a college student and wo…

  9. I recently had a system set up in my xterra and i had purchased a dual 2ohm Fi Q 10" to be run by a cadence iA7 amp. (see following link for specs on the amp: http://www.powermaxelectronics.com/product...amp;idcategory= ). The box was built to be stealth in my xterra and is a sealed and i was told built to house about 0.4cubic feet. (middle of recommended area for this sub) that said, they told me the measured resistance on each coil was ~1.5 ohm so they set up the system to push 3ohm. however, it seems that the sub is rather flat or not quite as responsive as the installers would have expected. i was told that this amp doesn't have enough power for the sub but in t…

as stated, I'm between these two subs. the r is rated @ 750 rms, and the bl is 1000 rms + whatever the flatwind coil and cooling adds. I'd love to get the bl15 cause I hear it absolutely pounds, but I'm scared my amp wont do it justice. Whats my best option? im open to any brand/size of subs too, looking to spend up to $275-300 thanks

I already sent an email about this i just wanted to see if i could get a quicker response through the forum. Can you guys recone the TC 3 HP motors with the six mounting holes? I need a response fairly soon so i can order another one before they run out. I would prefer them to be tens or twelves and handle at least 1krms each. If you guys recone it will it sound fairly similiar? Thank you

I am looking at setting up a sub in my car. I have had systems in the past, but I'm used to just running subs from Crutchfield or Best Buy - just choose your size, amount of coils, and throw it in the car. I am looking for a single sub that can handle a lot of power, but still be very clean. I'm not looking to go to any shows or SPL competitions, I just want to enjoy it in my daily driver. My problem is I'm ignorant on reading the specs for the subs on Fi's product page - I don't know what they mean by Fs, Re, Qms, Qes, etc. I have an Elemental Designs Nine.1 amp that I am going to use. It is rated 1200W x 1 @ 1 Ohm and 900W x 1 @ 2 Ohm. What sub would best fit my needs -…

Right now I have a pair of Q 15's in an 8.0CuFt enclosure, after all displacement. Tuned to 30 Hz. I was thinking about doing 4 X 12's in about 8Cuft enclosure tuned to 32 Hz. Power wise, it would be easier on my electrical. But my question is, would the response be there? Would the X's play sloppy? I'm happy with the Q's but I want a little more output (SPL). And I'm sure like alot of you, I like to change things up. Right now my Q's are powered off a PA A3000db at 1 ohm. The x's would be at 2 ohm. Just to throw this out there..I have 2 PA A3000db's if that helps you with your suggestions. Suggestions please?

My dad used to be really big into car audio and dbdrag's and stuff back in the day I'm talking about back in the early 90's when cerwin vega and JL was top of the line.and he is going to be helping me with my install. I was telling him about my 15" SSD and running it at around 1000 watts @1ohm. He said running your amp at a 1ohm load is bad for the amp because he said it will overheat allot quicker. He also said I will be going through amps like tissues if I run them @1ohm As long as I have my gains set right and I don't clip my amp won't overheat and crap out will it?
