okay on the fully loaded 18 inch btl what would be: peak to peak xmax rms power handling weight and what would be a good amp to run four of them or amps. i was lookin at 2 jbl crown amps the 8k watt ones @4 ohms would that be good. or should i do one per sub. well what would the experts do. i listen to rap and thats what will be played loud and long. so what amps would you put on them-brand,series,and wattage

hi Guys, I havent posted here in a while, but i am in need of some guidance. I just ordered 3 hifonics BX1606d's or whatever the numbers are.... Now i have to order some subs, I can't decide between Q's and BL's. I have no idea what all the options are for on the bl's and if someone could explain all of them that would be awesome. I was planning on putting 1 of the hifonics on each, and i also need some advice on box size, tuning etc. SQ is not really a concern of mine, and i have made all the electrical upgrades to the car so everything will work with the power. Ok, this is gonna probably be a stupid question. I just got my Fi Q 15, it's running in a 3.6cu ft box tuned to 32hz. I set my gains on my sundown 1500 to 31.6v with a 50hz test tone. I get alot of output on rap and bass tracks, but on music like Dave Matthews or John Mayer, or even Stone Temple Pilots, you really hear no bass and the sub is barely moving. I know I have a little air leak around the bottom of the gasket but I dont think that it would make a difference. I have the sub crossed at the deck at 63hz with a 18db slope. No bass boost at the amp. I really would like to know why I dont get much output. I'm happy with it on rap and bass tracks. I move my back wall a…

Okay I am planning on getting a new substage setup in the summer because right now im just a poor college student lol. Anyways I have had a fi btl 12 before and loved it but now I know I want an 18 for sure and I have contacted argent audio and an 18 will fit with aero ports so my question is should I get another btl or the Q. I loved my old btl but honestly sometimes it was just to loud and I have heard great things about tthe Q. I have never heard a sound quility sub in car auido before though. Alright Ive heard nothing but good things about you guys, and going to start saving up for my system and plan it out now. I have a 1993 camaro. Now my biggest dilema is my trunk, they are fudgeed in camaros.. I want a system with a little of box SPL and LOUD SOUND QUALITY... I want it to hit pretty damn hard and hit lows...but I also want decent sound quality. My choice right now is either between 2 12 BLS or Q's... Now if I can find anyone to build me a box or give me a design with dimensions for a camaro trunk ill go ported. I have a 2002 Ford Explorer with dimensions of Front to Back - 36" Left to Right - 45*1/2" Height - 19" I currently am running 6 13w1v2's off of 2 Kicker ZX1500.1 and I am looking to get to 15" and narrowed my options to the 15" BL's. I am wondering what size box I should get and what I should have it tuned too. My box now is the exact dimensions that I've given above. I plan on putting 1 Kicker ZX1500.1 to each of the 15". I like the real low bass as in Young Jeezy, Gorilla Zoe, Lil John...etc but I wanna make sure that my highs are also good. Any idea on what I should get the box tuned too? I have a Alpine Mrd-m1005 Amp (1000W Rms 1800 peak) amp in a 4.0 cube 35 hz box (aero port) with Alpine Type R 15. Going to purchase a Fi woofer but really unclear as to which sub I should use. Also unsure to what my setup would compare to an Sq/LSQ/Spl setup. Bassically, I love how my current setup shakes the tip of my nose and the hair on my head when I play good bass songs. Seems to hit the lows reallllly well. Also, moves a decent amount of air. I am leaning more towards that setup but something that will take it to the next level. got my FI bl 18" metered today @ 141.1 db on music with a single stock battery. i dropped down to about 137.0 db within 10-15 secs. will a second battery give me a lesser or greater then a 141.1 db? going to fix box as well. (baffle,bracing, rounding off, ect.)

so i just bought a jl 1000.1 amp and now im about to buy a fi 12Q. which voice coils should i get and how should i wire it? the box im going to build is 22"w-9.5"d-14"h sealed with 1.186^3 net air space in my tc. sorry for the noob questions, im not very good with wiring.

I am going to purchase a 15" Fi BL... mobileman is going to make me an enclosure roughly 3.8ft3 tuned at 30hz. i am going to power it with a cadence txa1000d which puts out 1000watts at 13.8 volts. what options should i get for this subwoofer? i want it to be as loud as possible with the tuning and amp i have. i honestly don't know what the options even mean.... P chmafer, cooling, flatwind, etc... etc... could someone explain the options to me? thanks.

Im looking at purchasing two BTL15's and I'm leaning toward the Sundown amps. The SAZ-3000D is rated at 3000RMS and I've read that it's underated at that. Is this amp too much for a fully loaded BTL15. I plan on strapping two 3000D's to two BTL15's at 2ohms which should be 3000w per sub.

Not really rantin, but have been waiting 2 weeks to get my tax check. I was getting ready to order 2 BTL 15's today and i noticed the price WAS 898.00 the last time i checked, now it's 983 because of 85 dollars in shipping, so now i got to wait till wednesday to get back to the bank. I am due to receive my ups delivery of my 12" Fi Q's tomorrow and i cant wait. i am so impatient. i want some advice on how to properly break these subs in because i have never learned the proper way. with any other subs i had i just installed them correctly (properly set gains and what not) and then proceded to see what the can do. i have been addicted to car audio for some time now but i am always learning something new. any opinions/advice will be greatly appriciated. running a Rockford fosgate 2000.1 amp if anyone is wondering.

Well my birthday came and I was pumped to be getting all my goodies. My girlfriend was sad as she had ordered something for me, only for it not to arrive in time. Well today package 1 of 2 arrived. A sweet 15" BTL loaded. I took some pics. All the pics taken either mine or otherwise really dont give these subs credit. MASSIVE!!

Here is a link to my box design. Have only ran a Lanzar 1200vibe on it so far as I am not convinced of tuning. Seems to get least cone motion at 33 hz when playing sine waves, so should be close. A bit inconclusive though. Actually the speaker is great, I am not impressed with the vehicle itself for bass. Does not sound as loud as my focus did with a lot less sub, but I know the focus probably loads bass a lot better. Box is 57w, 16.25 deep, and 20 high (6.5cf). The port is 14.75x7.5 and 28.75 long(area 110.6), firing up behind driver. The sub is facing forward on other side. Well i sent in my money order for a Q10 a week ago friday stating that i would like dual 2ohm coils, well, things changed a little so i e-mailed Fi and asked if my order could be changed to dual 1ohm coils... No answer and i sent the e-mail sunday morning. I don't really want to send another e-mail because i know they are really busy, but... i need to know if my order was changed or not... Any ideas? i just wanted to know before i ordered, is the cooling option important to add to the 15"btl for a daily sub?

Not sure if this is a reasonable question as I just found ficaraudio, but here we go: How do these compare to the old RE XXX (2005), the BL and BTL? I would assume the BTL is close but how close? I need a daily driver sub (mostly real music), I have a US Amps 2000x (3000 watts). So from what I gather that puts me in the BTL series, fully loaded. Is this correct? I have read that the BTL10 is not a good daily driver, is this still true as the web page does have a daily option for it? I would prefer the BTL10 due to enclosure size but could swing the BTL12. thanks

I havent powered my subs up yet, nor have the been mounted. They've been sitting in the boxes they came in since I got them last year as a present from my gf. Not dropped or anything like that, its weird I've never seen anything like it. I pulled one out to show a buddy of mine the sheer size and outstanding build quality. While doing so, I noticed a crack in the magnet. Not a small crack either, it goes horizontally, all the way around the sub. And it wasnt there when I got them.
