Ok heres the deal. I have a 04 Crown Vic, front stage only no rear fill and the rear speakers removed from the deck. I have been seriously looking into getting a pair of Q 15s for the last few months but a few things have come up with the family that has side tracked me but Im on point now. I have a pair of Orion 1200d for power but heres my question. I see the new options for the Qs and was considering selling my Orions and picking up a Hifonics XX Thor. I also considered a pair of fully loaded BL 15s with the power I have but I just dont know. I am coming from a background of mainly sealed boxes and this would be my first in my own install. Well my birthday came and I was pumped to be getting all my goodies. My girlfriend was sad as she had ordered something for me, only for it not to arrive in time. Well today package 1 of 2 arrived. A sweet 15" BTL loaded. I took some pics. All the pics taken either mine or otherwise really dont give these subs credit. MASSIVE!!

If i place an order tommorow morning, whats the expected time for fi to put together and ship 2 12" BL's? and do they have a phone number? i'd really like to talk w/ someone

so i just bought a jl 1000.1 amp and now im about to buy a fi 12Q. which voice coils should i get and how should i wire it? the box im going to build is 22"w-9.5"d-14"h sealed with 1.186^3 net air space in my tc. sorry for the noob questions, im not very good with wiring.

So I am trying to decide between either a Q or a BL. I will be picking up either a 12 or a 15, depending on what kind of car I finally decide to get (is it sad that size of the trunk to fit a bigger box is actually a big factor in my decision?). So I am looking for something clean, but powerful. I listen mostly to rap, but I like to mix it up with some rock every now and again. One of the big problems I have with my current setup is that my subs can't seem to keep up with a quick bass line. So I am looking for something quick, yet powerful enough to feed my need. I sold my bl 18's and both my sundown saz-1500ds and thought I was getting out of audio for a while. But, that didnt last long. I have plenty of room, 98 expedition. I want at least what i had, would like more. I pretty sure leaning to gettin 4 BL 18s this time and walling right behind front seats. i already deadened whole truck, got all wire still in truck. Would 2 Saz-2000d's be enough for 4 18s or 2 audioque 2200d's? I know thats only 1000-1100 watts per sub, but I really dont want to run 4 amps like 4 1500d's. If I could find 1 big amp that would be good for all 4 I will do that. Any suggestions or just go with 1 of the 2 amps above?

I am going to purchase a 15" Fi BL... mobileman is going to make me an enclosure roughly 3.8ft3 tuned at 30hz. i am going to power it with a cadence txa1000d which puts out 1000watts at 13.8 volts. what options should i get for this subwoofer? i want it to be as loud as possible with the tuning and amp i have. i honestly don't know what the options even mean.... P chmafer, cooling, flatwind, etc... etc... could someone explain the options to me? thanks.

Ended up ordering the Sundown Sae 1200d last night now I just gotta wait until it gets here Next I gotta get my amp kit and I'll have it hooked up in about a week o yea for those that forgot I have the Fi Q 15 wit bp

i just got a FI Q12 and was wondering which is better and why... a ported box or a sealed one? i have heard good things about both of them but was wanting some more opinions... thanks

I just went to order my subs and last time i knew shipping was included in the price and as i went to check out my price went from $1,216 to $1300+. now that just makes me want to spend my money else where because i had 1,250$ to spend not 1,300+

Does anybody have some pics of a btl or bl motor with the cooling and without it?? i have alway wondered what the difference is in the motor thanks.

hi Guys, I havent posted here in a while, but i am in need of some guidance. I just ordered 3 hifonics BX1606d's or whatever the numbers are.... Now i have to order some subs, I can't decide between Q's and BL's. I have no idea what all the options are for on the bl's and if someone could explain all of them that would be awesome. I was planning on putting 1 of the hifonics on each, and i also need some advice on box size, tuning etc. SQ is not really a concern of mine, and i have made all the electrical upgrades to the car so everything will work with the power. hey guys! i would appreciate some imput from everyone here k so, right now i got 2 12" MTX Jackhammers with a sony xplod amp.. It pounds pretty hard but i've been doing some research, and im set on getting a FI 15" sub and a Hifonics amp.. But I've got a few questions - Is that $90 difference that i would be spending for the BL be worth it over the 15" SSD? (BL with Hyper Pole and Flatwind) (SSD with copper coil and BP Power) - Im looking at just a one sub setup, so do i order Dual 1 or Dual 2 ? the amp at 1 Ohm puts out 1200RMS and 2 Ohms is 900RMS would i hear a big difference in the BL over the SSD. okay on the fully loaded 18 inch btl what would be: peak to peak xmax rms power handling weight and what would be a good amp to run four of them or amps. i was lookin at 2 jbl crown amps the 8k watt ones @4 ohms would that be good. or should i do one per sub. well what would the experts do. i listen to rap and thats what will be played loud and long. so what amps would you put on them-brand,series,and wattage

hey guys, i currently got a Fi 15" BL with an aq1200d, in a 3.3 cubic foot box tuned to 32 hz, it is a crappy box made out of 0.50 mdf because i just wanted the system in lol. I know this sub can get much much louder. How does a box just under 4 cubes (3.78) tuned to 35hz sound to you guys ? also with gains down could this sub eventually maintain an aq2200d ? I would have gains set so its pushing about 1500rms thnx guys !!

Hey Scott, or anyone who can answer the question. I'm interested in retrofitting my 12" Q with the compression plug. How much power can I safely send it after the fit? It's doing with with ~1200w right now. Do I need an RA number or anything to send it back? Also, what would the turnaround time be from date of arrival? I understand you guys are still trying to get things back on track.

just wanted to share the news that we had a NSPL 3x show on easter and the fi btl-18's was the loudest of the show and set a new world record in 1200 -2400 amp draw class with a 161.8 db's.that was with 12000 to 14000 watts total power.i am very happy with my 4 btl's.as stated they are over 1 db louder than my dd 9515 with same coils (d.7) and same amps and power.awesome subs.scott sent u pic a while back,already gave detail of my setup in 91 astro van and now 2 more wr.can i get a shirt now.i am a big guy 4 or 5x please.jeff

Not sure if this is a reasonable question as I just found ficaraudio, but here we go: How do these compare to the old RE XXX (2005), the BL and BTL? I would assume the BTL is close but how close? I need a daily driver sub (mostly real music), I have a US Amps 2000x (3000 watts). So from what I gather that puts me in the BTL series, fully loaded. Is this correct? I have read that the BTL10 is not a good daily driver, is this still true as the web page does have a daily option for it? I would prefer the BTL10 due to enclosure size but could swing the BTL12. thanks

Alright, while i sit here waiting for my order to arrive for (1) 18" BTL D2, i decide to browse craigslist.. I run into another 18" BTL D2 which looks to be in good condition.. $380.. now im really confused. lol. I haven't had the box built maybe i should just go with 2 instead of 1? The current amp i have is a sundown saz1500 .. which would be fine with 1 btl but i dont think its gonna cut it with 2 of them.. so my options IF i decide to buy this sub... buy another saz1500 and run them separately @ 1 ohm each... Strap the 2 1500's together and run them @ 2 ohms together.... I would love to sell my 1500 and buy a saz3500 but that's out of the budget right now. Doing this …

I recently had a system set up in my xterra and i had purchased a dual 2ohm Fi Q 10" to be run by a cadence iA7 amp. The box was built to be stealth in my xterra and is a sealed and i was told built to house about 0.4cubic feet. (middle of recommended area for this sub) that said, they told me the measured resistance on each coil was ~1.5 ohm so they set up the system to push 3ohm. however, it seems that the sub is rather flat or not quite as responsive as the installers would have expected. i was told that this amp doesn't have enough power for the sub but in t…
