I have a motor from an older eclipse titanium (88120ti), which I believe is a 3hp. It has a 6 bolt pattern, which fi uses, and I want to buy a 15" recone kit from them. I want the sub to be able to have flat freq. response from about 25hz up. I want to use a ported box tuned to about 3cu@28hz. I want the sub to pound on the bass tracks (rap), but also groove on tracks with a bass guitar (r&b,jazz, some rock). If I can get the money, I plan on powering it with an eclipse da7232. So my question, can this be accomplished with this motor and fi soft parts? Also, how big of a difference is there between a ported 15 and a sealed 18?

My brother and I are working on and IB setup for his car. He really wants to use an older pair of rockford 15's, I'm guessing they are from the early to mid 90's. The surround on both of them is going bad and I am hoping that FI can give these subs new life!! I will try and get pictures of the sub, but am afraid that won't help you out much. So, I'm wondering if I should send the subs in or what, thanks for any help and if you could even come up with a price for a recone, that'd be great too. If you can't do much cuz i've given you almost zero useful information, let me know and I'll try and dig up more about the sub. thanks

ok, i have two q 15's w/ bp power and I was just wandering what the actual power handling of these is with the bp power? I want to power these with an IA 40.1 if not too much and my box is 8.18 cuft. tuned to 27hz. I also have two optima 34/78 yellowtops in the rear and a red top in the front with dual runs of 1/0 to the rear and dual 1/0 will be going into the amp also. thanks

Hi, I ordered an 18" Fi BTL about a month ago, and have been loving it ever since. Great, chest tightening bass at high volume, and nice deep tones at lower volume. I'm running it off a Memphis Audio Mojo 4000 watt amp. I compete ever so often, just to see what kind of numbers I'm putting up, and this sub has been keeping me on top. The only mistake I made was when ordering, I ordered dual 1 ohm coils, and I should have ordered the dual 2. My subs wired @ 2 ohm (under 2000 watt) for daily driving, and for comps I'll wire it down to 0.5 ohm (4000 + watts). I'm on my 3rd box this month because of all the vague sub parameters, but it's been a good learning experienc…

After some time being away and such I'm getting ready to order an Amp and a BL 15". I've been looking to buy a Kicker ZX1000.1 but I have yet to be able to understand the relation of ohms between amps and subs...I'm terrible at math. The amp does 1000W RMS at 2 ohms so does that mean I would want the 1 ohm option with the BL? --Thanks for any replies.

I'm stuck between these anyone have any experience with any of these or can give me some advise: 1. Specs say volume is 1.21 but really it's 1.13 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_951_Si...e+-12SQTC-.html 2. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7596_S...-+1H12-1.4.html 3. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8387_S...AY+CARPET-.html Price wise they are all the same, so I just want the best sealed enclosure for good SQ bass.

hi guys im new to the forum first off, im not a car audio expert, im gonna get a new car soon and im planning on getting new bass on it. listen to mostly rap, hip hop, techno ive heard of JL w6v2 w/ jl 500/1 it sounded great it really hits the low notes. i was planning on getting that setup until i found the Fi Q's, sounds to me they're cheaper and supposely better so i guess im going with the Q's im mainly going for SQ rather than SPL so im going for the 1-12" Q: 1)what amp should i power it with? (i read around the forum i found sundown SAE-1000D, to be honest i never even heard of sundown are they any good? as gay as it sounds i rather go with a mainstream brand such a…

So it appears I may have made my box a touch to large and now im concerned about my sub hitting the back of my seat. I originally intended to recess the sub .75inches in a 1.5 inch thick ring. Not being familiar with the metric system I wasn't aware until about a hour ago of how big 27 mm Xmax was. Unless im mistaken that means the subs cone will have a hair over 2 inches of travel from peak to peak before getting into distortion. My concern lies with forward movement. I figured for .75 inches of forward movement, to find out now after the box is being constructed by me ( out of fiberglass ), that I didn't figure right. SO, how accurate is the 27mm measurment? Is it t…

I decided to change the "sub-stage" in my truck from that single 15" in that ported enclosure that just never seemed to sound right to two Fi Q 12" in a dual chambered sealed enclosure. The enclosure has about 1.5ft^3 per chamber. The two subwoofers are without the BP option and are being powered by an AQ2200d amplifier.(2200watts@1-Ohms). Hopefully sending each Q with around 1100watts. The subwoofers are DVC 1-Ohm, wired in series to 2-Ohms per subwoofer and bringing a 1-Ohm load on the amplifier. The first Fi Q 12" has been bought and so has the AQ2200d. I plan to order the second Fi Q in a week. What influenced my decision for this subwoofer stage: 1. The Q's performa…

I am looking at setting up a sub in my car. I have had systems in the past, but I'm used to just running subs from Crutchfield or Best Buy - just choose your size, amount of coils, and throw it in the car. I am looking for a single sub that can handle a lot of power, but still be very clean. I'm not looking to go to any shows or SPL competitions, I just want to enjoy it in my daily driver. My problem is I'm ignorant on reading the specs for the subs on Fi's product page - I don't know what they mean by Fs, Re, Qms, Qes, etc. I have an Elemental Designs Nine.1 amp that I am going to use. It is rated 1200W x 1 @ 1 Ohm and 900W x 1 @ 2 Ohm. What sub would best fit my needs -…
