Ok guys, I was browsing steve meades forum and came across someones system on the system of the month, february 2008. It has 2 18's in a blowthrough, but in order to fit the 2 18's they are slightly angled as well as the port (or at least the port looks like it), does this have any effect on the output or cause some other negative effect? Hey everyone, I'm new here! I'm about to put some bass back into my car finally. Just hoping you guys can be a little better help than RoE was. So I'm thinking I want to go with 1 12" SSD and I'm looking at a Hifonics BXi1206D amp. I'm only looking to spend about $600 on everything. Now a few questions: Do you think that amp is a good match? What type of box should I run? (I like real powerful bass) And is my 4ga wire going to be enough. (I already have a Rockford Fosgate p400.4 hooked up to my door's) Thanks in advance!

Im looking into getting a 15 for daily use. I want it to be a daily pounder that sounds good also. i mostly listen to rap music. I got a memphis 1000D to run it and im looking at either the SSD or the Q, im on a budget so not sure which one i need with what options? Moeny wise which would be the best sub for what i am looking for? Only thin i know is it has to be a dual 2 ohm. help me out thanks

I RLLY neeed help i just hooked up my brutus to my fi ssd 18 and all its doing is go thud thud thud thud thud thud thud nonstop kinda quickly with no music bass coming from it idk wtf is wrong with it if i take the RCA out it stops please help.... i hooked it before and it worked fine but someoone broke into my car and ripped everything out but they caught them and i got it all back so idk just any suggestions

Well, my homie wants to run a good amount of 12"s, or possibly 15" ssd's But he wants to do a blowthrough from the bed of the truck to the cab, what would be the best way to do it? He's thinking about doing it in sections, and i think that the way that might be best is to do 4 15"s SSDs and a SAZ 4500 and then do 4 more and another SAZ 4500 but, would you have to do a band pass pretty much??

Well im getting the 2ohm Fi 18 BL and i found an amp that has 2ohm 1000wattrms with 2000W MAX,,,,,,other amps with a max of 1000W have a 2ohm 500w RMS,,,,,,,what do i need for my subwoofer 1000W RMS i guess??? Can someone tell me whats the difference betwee 4ohm,2 ohm,and 1 ohm,and what do they do???

I read on this forum that FI sends a tracking number that is updated when the sub is shipped. Was i supposed to get one and just didn't? Just ordered my SSD 18 today. Waiting for my tracking number to come once its built, and then the countdown until it arrives. The sub will be going in my room, and I am trying to build up a good ported box plan now. Does anyone here have a Fi sub in their room ? I'm curious. Right now I have 2 10" Rockford Fosgate Punches from the 90s in a ported box. They are in the corner of my room, and can be heard from anywhere in the house. They aren't that loud though, being so old. But they do pretty good. They shake the siding of my house pretty good. How much louder do you think the SSD will be (assuming its in a well built box @33hz) ?

Hey everyone. I am new to not only this forum but to FI as well. I have always had "eh" subs that are sold in my area. I currently have 2 10" RF T1's in a 3 cu ft enclosure....I am lookin to upgrade to something louder and better and am not sure of which sub to go with. I listen to 75% heavy rap, 10% techno, and 15% heavy metal. I like SPL mostly, but want to retain some SQ. Are the Q's or BL's a better replacment for what I have?

I've been trying to figure out some theoretical expectations from a few subs using Winisd. I want to use a sealed enclosure, but I can't figure anything out with the SSD (12 inch Dual 2 ohm) until I know the higher qts. Does anyone know what it is? Hopefully I'm not being dumb and just can't find it. I know the Qts is figure by using the Qes and Qms numbers, so which ever changed would be helpful too.

To Whom It May Concern (probably Scott), My name is Brad and I currently run a DIYMA 12" subwoofer in a .5ft^3 box. The DIYMA is an amazingly solid sub with HUGE stacked magnets, but its weak point is definitely its cone. Unfortunately, my cone cracked with less than 150 watts and gain set properly. So I am requesting a custom recone kit for my DIYMA. It has a 3" x 2" 4 layer voice coil. This sub is pretty beefy (37lbs) so shipping it would be a last resort. Can you create a new recone kit for this sub? All information on the sub can be found at www.diymobileaudio.com and I can personally talk to the designer of the sub if you need more information.
