I have a Alpine Mrd-m1005 Amp (1000W Rms 1800 peak) amp in a 4.0 cube 35 hz box (aero port) with Alpine Type R 15. Going to purchase a Fi woofer but really unclear as to which sub I should use. Also unsure to what my setup would compare to an Sq/LSQ/Spl setup. Bassically, I love how my current setup shakes the tip of my nose and the hair on my head when I play good bass songs. Seems to hit the lows reallllly well. Also, moves a decent amount of air. I am leaning more towards that setup but something that will take it to the next level. Should I go with the SSD or the Bl 15? Knowing that.....My second option is to run my US Amp 2000 (2000W @ 2 ohm) amp to which Iv…

Hey Nick or Scott ... need some help with an MT, I need a recone by the 4th for a local sound off (if I can get it next-day'd or 3 day guarantee UPS or whatever) but was wondering what options I'd have when it come down to the recone ... I'm throwing ~4k at the sub for burps, I want a dual .7 instead of the dual 1.4 it is now so I can run it at 1.4 or .35 for burps, but suspension/coil wise could it be upgraded? Also as far as the spiders are concerned upgrading to like 5 or 7 layer woven? I sent Nick an email yesterday or the day before ... just need this quick, so I hope it didn't find the spam filter

A guy wants to buy my SSDs. I really see no future use for them. If I end up getting a car I will probably just put my bl 10 in. So they are 12" with copper coil, and 1 ohm coils. I used them for ~4 months with a hifonics 1606 amp, never clipped the amp so I know the drivers are in a-1 shape. Thanks for the input.

  10. well its been about a month and im happy to report that my subs are breaking in a little....they are still very stiff so they arent all the way broken in yet but they sound better every day My laptop is broke so i cant meter it ATM and i dont really have a place to do it anyway (or the time to do it) but to me, knowing what it DID sound like, i have to say its louder and has more authority. I can tell by watching the hairtrick vids i made that there is a difference. Also, i usually use the large screws with #3 heads to hold the subs in but for the past year almost i have had to use the "gold" screws from home depot and put them in at an angle to get to "fresh meat". …

  13. I'm going to order a SSD10 and plan to load it in a sealed box w/ .63 airspace (after displacement) and power it w/ a Sundown SAE-1000D (are there other recommended amps for the SSD10?) Questions: 1. I'm guessing I should get the dual 1-ohm coils and wire them in series to get 2-ohms (600w) ... since dual 2-ohm coils wired in series would result in 4-ohms (only 300w) and dual 2-ohm coils wired in parallel would overpower the speaker (1-ohm, 1000w), correct?!? 2. Since this is going to be a daily driving setup and I'm more interested in SQ, should I consider any other options besides the copper coil upgrade? Mucho thanks for any help / insight.

Which would be best? A US Amps XT2000D (1200 rms), US Amps XT4000D (1500 Rms), Hifonics BXI-1600d (1600 rms, but probably closer to 1200), Power Acoustik OV1-4000D (Says 2200 rms, but ?), PA PS1-3000D (1700 rms, but ?) (is PA good?),

  15. Right now i have my 18 bl in a ~6 ft^3 box (before port and sub disp.), tuned to 34 hz with a 3.75 x 20.5 in port (was supposed to be 4 inches, but i had a lil cutting error ). Anyways, i'd like to try a few different boxes, some higher, some lower, some smaller, some bigger. Fi has 30 hz as the lowest recomendation, and i'd like to see what the people who tuned to around this (or people who have heard a bl tuned to this) thought about it. They also have 37 hz as they're highest, so have any of you tuned to that, if so, how'd you like it? I realize a person who tunes to 30 hz is going a different path than someone tuning 37 hz, but i'd just like to see how each individu…

A year or so ago, I sent a Crossfire XT motor into Scott for a recone and he was unable to find a coil that would work for daily bumping. Anyhow, I ended up purchasing two BL's that same week and basically told Scott whatever on finding a coil for the XT motor. So my question is; Where is that motor now? lol Let me know if Scott still has it, because I wants it! Thanks, Matt

  20. Sorry to say that there will be email and "some" order delays from today through Monday 10-16 due to several of the Fi staff attending the 3 dB Drag world finals shows through the US. We will have 2 people on staff running some production but the balance of the shop will be "closed" through then. We will resume normal production and emails on Tuesday and get things back up to speed and make sure that all orders are filled ASAP. Sorry for the delays, but we will try to keep you all posted on the shows as well. Thanks, Scott

Hello, I am having some problems with my Fi Q 12" and I dont know what happened. The other day I was listening to some music and then suddenly my sub stopped working completely. I tested the resistance from both the coils and only one side is working, what should I do? Do I need a recone? Ive sent some emails to scott nick and the sales emails and called and left a few messages but havent heard from anyone yet. Is there any way the sub could be fixed?
