  1. 18" SP4 mounting depth- 11.75" What is the diameter of the motor with rubber boot? What is the height of the motor from the bottom to the top where the basket attaches? What is the height from the floor to when you reach the bottom of the push terminals? How long are the push terminals? And finally- what is the height from the back of the mounting ring to the top of the motor? I need these measurements so i can begin drawing out the next massive build to fit properly.

I want to buy another 18" SSD, but I need to have my current sub reconed to a dual 1 ohm. The sub I have now is an 18" SSD dual 2 ohm with the flatwind coil. Can I either send it, or drop it off (I live close) to Fi and have them do it for me? Thank you.

  3. I have an avalanche that will be shipped to you soon for a recone, but it's for the guy that bought it from me. He's paying for the recone and the billing information that will be supplied will be his... I was wondering if I can get a new gasket, because the one I have has a cut about .75" long on top of it, and I'd like it to look good and I forgot that I had switched it between a different driver and I didn't state it in my F/S thread. I couldn't find these gaskets for an 18" online, I saw some for 15" and under but were wayy to expensive, 15+ 45 shipping, which is retarded. I'll write on the paper/information that it needs a recone and a new gasket, unless I can get an…

I also have a coulple of questions since i dont have the sub in yet. My main concern is i am wondering if the subwoofer is going to fit between the edge of the box and the L port. The distance between the two is 19.5 " is this enough room to fit the sub and the outside of the basket where the screws are. Also what do u think about the dimensions and the design. Lookin gor constructive critisism and ideas. I designed it with the re box builder. Its going in an 04 Jeep Cherokee Limited. does this design have too m…

Ok guys, vehicle to be worked on is a 1996 full size conversion van. Huge vehicle. I'm trying to decide what woofers and how many I should run in this. Power will be along the lines of something like 4 IA 40.1s. I was thinking 6 BTL 18s. Thoughts, ideas, experience, lay it on me please.

if you are going to use 2 10" FI subs in 1 box with 1 port does the port still use 16 sq in per cf? or does it double to 32 sq in? what would be optimal for 2 10" BL's Also would 2 10" BL's @ 1500 rms each be louder than 1 10" BTL @ 3000 rms? Thank you! i am trying to get my research done before i purchase.

Hi, this is my first post here and i don't know much about car audio so take it easy on me. I am considering getting 2 of the 12" BL's to put in my car. I dont really want them in a sloppy box in the trunk, but i don't want to take out my backseat to install them. I know it might look goofy, but the backseat in my car flips down, so i was wondering if it would be possible to build a box that has the speakers in the trunk facing the cab if i have enough clearance for the subs while the seats are up? This car will be for daily music, i listen to mostly jeezy, trae etc, but sometimes i like to switch it up with some death metal (In Flames, and the like). What amp will i need…

  22. Everyone will find out shortly! Hopefully by the end of next week to be precise. Specs: (2) 12" Fi SSD's 4cf enclosure, braced and 45'd, 75+ sq inces of port tuned to 38hz Autotek 1900.1D should be close to 2.3k watts @ 14v, Hopefully around 1150 watts per sub. 2 YT G31's 220a HO alt 2 runs of 0/1 I have faith they will, we had 2 SSD's on a SAZ-1500 @ .5 ohm and they took it like a CHAMP. Don't worry, we will have pics and vids no matter what the outcome. If they blow, then I guess it will be time for another pair of BL's.

In the near future I am going to get 2 12" SSDs with copper coil option and a sundown SAZ1500D. For the box I was planning on having the subs hit up and the port back but I'm also taking any opinions on that. Also I might make a sealed box as well for these. I'm going for overall sound quality and just wanted to know what you guys think about the whole thing. Thanks.

Hey guys, I am new to this forum. Been out of the car audio scene for quite awhile (i don't know what happened to elitecaraudio.com????). Anyway! My bro is looking around spending 180-220 per 15 (total of 2) and a decent amp (oh 200-300 maybe) I suggested the RE SE's or the FI SSD's and possibly a Soundstream or Orion amp? I am a fan of RE and if my memory serves me - Fi was started by a former worker of RE (steve?) Well thanks for your time and help!
