General Fi

So, I have been debatin on a lot lately what to go with on 4 15's.....Q, BL, BTL. I love lots of vibrations and tons of SPL, so not real sure. My wife who rides with me a lot loves lots of vibrations to, but onlike my current truck, actually wants to hear the music with it...lol. I have no exp at all except watchin video, but you obviously cant tell from that. So, what would you guys suggest. For this install, money is not a very big issue....but like anyone, the more I save in the end the better, lol. Lookin for you guyz' ideas and input. If you haven't read my previous post, it is going in the bed of a truck with a blowthrough.

I was just turned onto fi and i love their chit. where can i get like an 18' btl. how much is it gonna cost?

Ok, i will probably be running 2 bls off of a sundown 3k. Not sure if i wanna do 2 15's and keep them straight upright firing through my blowthrough or have 2 18's slightly angled firing through it. What i am curious about, is there really an audible difference between the size of these two woofers if they are running the same power. I know the 18's will probably score higher in comps, but i doubt i will ever compete, so no point in getting less than a db more and losing that much more of the bed of my truck.

Just a quick question and just wondering how many spiders does this year model BL have, I have a BL 12 and it is amazing, im enjoying every minute i play it, the reason i ask is because its stiffness is almost that of a BTL

Can I get 4 ohm coils in the Q line? And would the 4 ohm sub have more bl?

Would 2.3 at 33hz be good for a 15 bl.

this is for scott or any of the fi reps... heres what im wanting to do- im working on a show car, and im wanting to powdercoat my subs to match certian parts on the vehicle (baskets to match the exterior color, and top/bottom plate of the motor to match certian trim in the interior) after i order and pay would it be possible to send me those parts so i can get them powdercoated, then send them back for assembly? thanks! okay i have 2 amps strapped..........so if i strapped the 2 to a 1 ohm load it splits the load so that each amp is receiving a 1/2 ohm load? that makes it unstable if its a 1 ohm stable amp rite.......

Well with the end of summer and working 70 hours a week at my summer job on top of building a car i will finally be back around more often after next Thursday. Just got back in and moved to college and we've got to wait until late next week before we will have internet access... Hopefully my presence will be more noticed in the next few weeks as i get back into the swing of things and not running every which way but loose.. Right now i have a Q15 and its hittin 143.3 and its in a 5 cuft box tuned to 40 htz and its just not loud enough for me in my jeep grand cherokee. I want to buy something new i will have 2 Digital Audio DAD1504's which put out 1500 watts at 1 ohm and im not sure on what to buy cause my area for my box would be 19" in height 28" in depth 35" in width so if anyone has any ideas for 2 subs running 1500 a piece or 1 running 3000 daily im up for ideas i also thought about 2 fully loaded BL's running 1500 daily or one 15 fully loaded BTL running 3000 daily please respond with your opinion on each cause im lookin to hit around …

i have a brahma mark II and i want a re-cone...possibly an 18 can it be done? i tied posting before and got no reply so i am trying again... it's not a for sure thing i want an 18, just wondering can it be done and still retain good sound quality and bottom end while still being able to get loud?

ok i just picked up 4 18'' fi btl fully loaded and i need a big ported box..can some one give me the best enclosure dimensions for this set up? i have 2 atomic at 50001d amps so 10,000 watts untell i get my 2 atomic 7000.1 its going in a 01 tahoe lt with the second seat...but the third seat is coming out so i got the whole back of the truck to work with!!!

I am hoping that all of you with more experience in the car audio world can help me out. I am designing a home theater installation for a friend. My friend has never heard an I.B. (Infinite Baffle) sub but he plays guitar and has mucho experience with car subs. He is of the firm opinion that 15" and 18" subs cannot hit like 10" and 12" subs. I am recommending an I.B. sub installation, using 4 Q18's in 2 manifolds mounted in the attic, with each manifold having 2 drivers mounted on opposite sides but facing in the same direction and wired out of phase, for that extra 2nd harmonic cancellation. could a bl 18 with just cooling handle a saz 2000d? my buddies wantin to get the 2000d but he dont have flatwind so he mite get the 1500d.

The web site FiCarAudio does not list Le (or alternatively Ls and Lp), the inductance parameters. Anyone know the values for the Q15 and the Q18? TIA =>><<=robobob

Ok guys, I was browsing steve meades forum and came across someones system on the system of the month, february 2008. It has 2 18's in a blowthrough, but in order to fit the 2 18's they are slightly angled as well as the port (or at least the port looks like it), does this have any effect on the output or cause some other negative effect?
