General Fi

hey, i was looking through brands of speakers on the web and came across this "Fi" brand that I've never heard of and want to know more about. What makes this type of speaker so special and if it really is so amazing, why is the price so low? I'm interested in building a new system with 2 18's and can go in my daily driver and want to get the most bang for my buck, literally. If anyone has any insight, please let me know.

I recalled back in this forum someone said the Q was reviewed by CA&E. Anyone knows about the score or even better a copy of it. Also with the review of the mags. thanks Wynold

Thanks a million Scott for helping me get my SX recone kit. it took me a while but i finally got the order in and finally received the recone kit for this sub that's been sitting around for over a year. the packaging was EXCELLENT. nothing on the box shifted around or got banged up. well in the order i completely forgot to mention that i need CA Glue. though buying a recone kit i would have assumed that you send out CA glue with the kit, but anyways, How about can i get some CA Glue to set this sub up? if i have to buy it since the order was completed please let me know.

how much does the bp power option raise the rms on a 12" ssd?? would one need this option running 2 off a rf t10001bd 1633rms @ 1 ohm? what coil would be the best-regular, copper, or flat wind? daily driver (possibly a comp here n there for somethin to do but rarely), in trunk of an 00 impala, 2.5 cubes each tuned to around 38hz, i listen to most all music, lots of rap turned up loud, cuz its loud n low.

I had my 12" dual 1 ohm Q reconed right before i sold my old car, and have decided against putting a system in my new car as i have a baby due in 8 weeks and need the trunk space. so it hasn't been used at all since the recone. what do u guys think i should sell it for? thanks anthony

Sup guys this is just another thread on my box problem that has been solved finally. Most of you guys probably saw it before since there isn't a crazy amount of new threads everyday. My friend just picked up two of these beefy lookin subs and I am gettin ready to order my FI's. Where would these sit in the FI lineup. I was guessin between Q and SSD, not to sure though.

I wasn't quite sure where to post this so I will just do it here. I have been working on a huge research paper for school regarding some topics in math. I am sure some of you remember me asking questions earlier. At first I was going to leave everything silent, but have decided against that just in case several professors wonder what sub I used. So, would it be okay if I printed your companies name and the findings in my paper. All the paper covers is designing ported enclosures, how to design them, the math involved, etc. It goes into no detail at all about the actual build of your sub or any other technical issues. Pulled a 145.4dB at 47hz in the kick...Now too bad in my opinion considering the box is 8ft^3 net tuned to 33hz...The subs are getting about 800 watts each.. They definitely had a lot more low end than every other daily driving system that I heard at the comp.. Many people were interested in my subs, and I gave out Fi's website several times! Imagine I could get a 147 or so if I got another box that was more SPL oriented..That may be in my future plans.

Is there any other way to get a hold of Fi besides email? I ordered a BTL , and on my email receipt it said i ordered a dual 1-ohm, I needed a dual 2-ohm. I emailed them ( sales and orders) to let them know of the mistake but i haven't got a reply to let me know if it has been corrected or not.

So i bought the fi q fully loaded with cooling option and so it can handle an additional 500 wrms but my subwoofer is geting hot after runing it for 20 minutes. its dual 2 ohms voice coils and its wired to amp at 4 ohms my deck has out puts of 2.5 volts here is image of how my amp is set the volt input sensetiviy got moved by the bass.. its set to 1-2 volts. the subwoofer is on a 2.3cubic foot box.. what could be getting it hot?? i only use bass knob that came with it i dont even go pass mid bass knob and at the end of the ride the amp is a little warm but not as warm as the subwoofer.. im scared to burn it.. is my amp set right??

How do you recommend to brake in the sub fib l 10?

I'm thinking of going with a 15" Q for these, powered by a Sundown SAZ-1000D So I've been messing with the RE calculator and think I have come up with a couple of designs. I just want to make sure all the numbers are right on these and see some opinions on which one is better. I like the first one more, sub up port back, does that design output well? How do you make the horizontal and vertical 45's come together smoothly? Also, would the first box fit a 15" BL? I know the second one doesn't have the airspace for a BL which is another reason I like the first one. Whats up people new to the forum and wanting to buy a 12 inch fi q. I just had a few questions should i chip out of the bp option? Im not looking to push the sub i just want clean bass, I drive a scion hatchback so i figure no matter what i do this thing is going to fill the cabin. What amp are you guys running on this? Im looking for a good price and good quality?

can a btl 18 take 2500 RMS daily??

Just purchased a new in crate 18" btl with the ufo style motor.is there a way i can tell if it has the daily use or spl option?? The sub is EXTREMLY stiff.. I looked on the inside to see wat it said in maker on the former but all it said was dual 2 btl 18 fc. I hope its the daily lol im gona need to sell it if its the spl option unfortanantly.. any input would be greatly appreciated.thanks

I need your help guys, I have a 2000 chev. S-10 third door extenened cab. Which sub do you think will hit and sound the best. (1) 12Q sealed, (1) 10Q ported, (1) 10BL ported. I listed to mostly hard rock bands like TOOL, STAIND, SEVENDUST ect. Thank you everyone for helping me. By the way I am facing the sub toward the bed of the truck which should produce a nice backwave.

Shawn is selling three 12" X's first and foremost Scott....DO you have the parts to build me a fourth one in a Dual 4ohm config? I know at one point you said the parts were going to be rolled into AA and if I cant get a fourth then my plans will change. If by chance you have a fourth how much space do these subs require ported? how small of a box I could get away with? I also am willing to use aero ports if that will cut down on size any. Will I see better bass race results with four 12" X's as opposed to two 12" SSD's running off the same 1500 watt amp? Amp will be determined once I choose the subs but I am looking at the Kicker ZX series. I was going to go with the Q's …
