Im sick of changing my mind lol.. Basiclly, I found someone else with the same jeep as me and he says that side firing is the best for ours because the port needs room to load, and it doesn't have the room it needs firing directly into the rear hatch. Any truth to that? How much of a difference is it going to make going from 6 cubes with 96sq/in of port area to 8 cubes with 128 Sq/in of port area? Can someone help me design the box. I mean I have the basic design down, But I need to know how to do the port. Cause I am lost.

I have several competitions that is just going to go past me and nothing is happening with the BTL service. I mean I really like the subs but the service for BTL that i've been receiving is very horrible. Im on the verge on switching over to RE and purchase the XXX's. Can someone please give me a answer on these Recones for the BTL's??

what amp would be better for a 12" Bl with the BP Power? US Amps MD 1D (underrated at 1200w @ 1ohm) or US Amps MD 2D (underrated at 1500w @ 1ohm)... Also would the flatwind coil be worth the extra $20? And also what would be a good box size? I know it recommends anywhere from 1.8-2.5... but what would be about perfect?

Recently I purchased two 12 inch ssds from Fi car audio. I was looking for something loud yet retain good sound quality. I first built a box which is 4.5 cubes tuned to 33 hz. I have them hooked up at 1 ohm to a US amps Md2. At first i thought the low end was lacking so i contacted scott and told him and he told me about the copper coils vs the aluminum coils. Well the copper coils made that much of a differnce because i love these subs. They play the lows nicely and get loud. The sound quality could be better. But being that im a bass head it doesnt bother me at all. Compared to a sx which everyone wants to compare them to. I would say they are alike except more musical …

  20. Im getting ready to order three fi ssd with bp option, but i want to make sure i get the right ones for my application. I will be running 3 of the 12 inch ssd's off of 2500 watts at 1 ohm. my question is, do i need dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm subs? What is the actual coil impedance? Are they dead on 1 or 2 ohm, or are the impedances actually lower or higher?? I want to do 3 dual 1's ran in series and then paralleled all together at .67 ohm, but if the actual driver impedance is lower than 1 ohm per coil, the total impedance may be a lot lower and i don't want to risk burning up my amp. Now, on the other hand, if i go with dual 2's and wire them in series then paralleled all …

What would you all recommend for my low pass filter setting for a 12" SSD w/ CC in a sealed 1.5 cubic box. Yes I know it's a big box but I usually prefer the sound of bigger sealed boxes. Also is there a method for checking that the crossover setting you see on an amp is the actual one that is being output by the amp? I thought using the DMM method and seeing the voltage would work but it didn't tell me anything. I played a 50hz tone and moved the LPF around and all my measurements did was the increase in voltage as I lowered the frequency and vice versa. I thought when I hit 50hz on the dial and below that it would flatline in voltage, but it kept increasing as I l…

This might've been answered before, as most new topics in the forum usually have been, but I thought Fi didn't use to charge for shipping subs? Wasn't it included in the price of the sub before??

Got a customer that is considering going with either a q10 or ssd 10. Customer mainly listens to rock, metal and other types of music along those lines. If i stick with the 1.5 cu.ft. net spec and tune alittle higher around 35-37 hz, how will that sound. Also, customer requirements is the sub has to be dual 2 ohm 1000 watts continous per what he stated. The vehicle is a1998 single cab Dodge Truck and the enclosure is replacing the center console with the both the sub and port firing back at the cab rear wall. Space from baffle to cab rear wall 6-8 inches. Phil Woodlawn Cabinetry
