hey everyone! im diggin the fi audio products! trying to figure out what i want before the 14th on my b-day ... need to know if i should go with a one 12" BTL or BL.. this will be for daily.. budget is about 12-1500 for sub box and amp.... going in the back of a blazer xtreme.. box specs and amp opinions please! any info will be appreciated! thx

Just got the BTL fully loaded 18" in. it's in a transmission line box in the back of my envoy XL. taking up all my trunk space along with the removal of the third row. being powered with Audio Que's 2200D amp. was wondering what comps i should be looking at for my doors and im putting a row of 6x9's facing forward behind the headrests of the second row on top of the box for some extra midbass. was wondering if anyone could give me a hand? not looking to spend over 300 for each set of comps and ill drop probably around the same for the 6x9 pairs. i've been looking at the kappa perfect 6.1's by infinity and audioque's component sets. thanks for the help. -d.kish

This is my first box. I just wanted to know what everyone thought about it. It will be made of 3/4 MDF and its for a 15" FI Q. Its tuned to 29hz, and is about 4.5cuft. I have a crude drawing below. Just tell what you think. Thanks.

Hey guys I have a couple of questions on the 12 Q's :] And this would be my first set up.(I'm a noob) Are this good SQ speakers with good bump to them? What Sundown amp would be good for this? Or if possible what other amps would be good? I was lookin at the Mmats amps.(I heard there really good) Also would the speakers sound diferent if I order them with BP power? I would be getting both for 518 without BP power wich is a really nice price. Also my box would not be that big for this speakers since I have a toyota celica st but I have a friend in florida that makes custom boxes and he told me that if the enclosure is made good like dimensions, tunning etc it will sound go…

Hey FI... I am looking to order a recone kit for my RE SX 12, and I have a couple questions... How long does it take to make/ship a Dual 1 ohm recone kit with a red FI logo? Does it matter what coils are in it right now, because I don't know what they are, neither of them are any good so I can't test them? Thank you

i just found the IB series from Fi today. i was looking around and found a site called bladeice.com. they carry AA and Fi subs. i checked out the IB series and wondered why the Fi site didn't have them. was this just news to me?

do the recones on the btl come with woven tinsels?

ok i have 2 18" BL subs dual 1ohm flatwind cooling and pchamfer these are the first model bl's. they are going to see a sundown 1500 to each sub what is the smallest box ported that will be ok for these subs. i want to keep the box under the rear deck in a 1995 fleetwood. between the hinges, theres trunk rods in the way. i'll invert the subs to get a lil more airspace if i need to. just need to know whats the smallest the box can be and sound good

well had to rebuild the box for the BTL the lash one shall we say sprung a leak and without much testing was able to do 144 on street beat and take first by 2.5 DB or so. what a combo a beetle and a BTL thanks for makeing this sub.

Hi next week i'm starting my build in my trunk with a box for 2 12" SSD hooked to a zx2500.1 The box will be roughly 4.2 cube ft after displacement tuned to 33hz. I have a few questions will I need to brace the inside of the box? How can I brace it? any input is appreciated thx

Is there a list of subs-brands and models-that FI knows they can recone, without sending it in perhaps???? soo many ?'s about recones. j/w cuz it would be nice to know, can be on the lookout for these subs if we knew what ones can be, ya know what im sayin?? Thanks

Initial impression is WOW! Haven't built my custom box yet but had an extra one that's 1.4cu ft so just plopped it in. Didn't change any settings on my amp but man, it sounds like there's 2 12s in there. NICE! Just did a search, looked up a few suggestions on what to set my amp at and will bump it when I go to school later. hey guys ...have a quick question ...i just bought 2-12" FI Q DVC 1 ohm used...just got them in the mail today so i pulled out my meter to check the ohms on each coil ..1 sub i get .8 to .9 on one coil and 1.0 to 1.2 on the other coil.... sub 2... 1.0 to 1.2 on one coil and 1.1 to 1.4 on the other coil is this ok ? i know on the FI site 1 ohm dvc should be .7 ohms and 2 ohms dvc should be 1.4 ohms and yes i am using a good meter ( fluke 116) just dont know if the ohms go up a little once they are broken in which is my case since they are used .....just want to make sure i am hooking them up to a sundown saz1500d at 1 ohm and dont want to blow anything …

I got a VW Golf and i want a nice system with some heavy bass, Shall i pick 2 Fi BTL or 2 Pioneer 3000? and what amp shall i get if im picking the 2 Fi BTL`s?

Which would be the better choice? Looking for very loud. Listen to mainly rap. Going in a ported box in my trunk tuned to 32hz. Running off of 2x saz-1500d's. ps. The 15 would have to be done sub up port back due to 13.5" of hight available. thanks =]

Was wondering how much 2 BTL 18's setup Daily with Dual 4 coils would be after the first of the year? That 350 shipped deal from Meade brand new was sweet. I'm a noob to them so I honestly don't know if it was one...lol but after playing with that one I wanna get 2 thats for sure! I cant get a hold of anyone and heard this forum is the way to go. The rubber lip around the edge of sub is not aligned properly to the holes in the metal. I was just curious if it would damage the sub for me to peel the lip off and align it correctly. The only reason I would do this is so the people that install the sub dont slip up and just drill right through the metal instead of the holes designated. Thanks.

What would you all recommend for my low pass filter setting for a 12" SSD w/ CC in a sealed 1.5 cubic box. Yes I know it's a big box but I usually prefer the sound of bigger sealed boxes. Also is there a method for checking that the crossover setting you see on an amp is the actual one that is being output by the amp? I thought using the DMM method and seeing the voltage would work but it didn't tell me anything. I played a 50hz tone and moved the LPF around and all my measurements did was the increase in voltage as I lowered the frequency and vice versa. I thought when I hit 50hz on the dial and below that it would flatline in voltage, but it kept increasing as I l…

had some broken tinsel leads on a btl. no warranty on these subs, im the 3rd owner, sub was even reconed by someone else before i bought it, and damage had all evidence that looked like user error on my part (which wasnt but i can guarantee you kicker, RF, eclipse etc would use this to save on warranty costs etc) and yet Scott STILL sent me 4 brand new tinsels for the BTL. no cost to me, no shipping cost....nothing. Hey guys! First off, I am new here and already love it. I have heard great things about Fi and decided to run with them in my next setup. I listen to, well, almost all rap and I want to compete for the first time with my new setup and am not sure what to run with. This is going in a blow through so I have a decent amount of room to play with. I am not sure what I would be better off doing in a setup. Right now I am kinda torn between doing something like 4 12's sealed (probably Q's) versus someting like 2 15" BTLs ported. I want to get super stupid loud. i am running (2) 15"D2 Btl's in 6 cub. ft. @ 32hz right now. the amp i am using is a zx2500.1. what is a safe or optimal freq. to turn the amp to? is this something that is done by listening or is there a general rule of thumb. i am just noticing that the higher notes in almost all the songs i listen to, are almost not even audible. the lower notes are def there but what would correct this "problem?"

Well with the end of summer and working 70 hours a week at my summer job on top of building a car i will finally be back around more often after next Thursday.
