Description:I recently got a 15" SSD. So far it is great, and sounding better and better since the cone is starting to be able to flex more. I am very happy with the system. My girlfriend usually doesn't like bass, but says this one (system) sounds good, so props to the guys at Fi for making that possible! Here is a picture of my system as it sits in my car. Enclosure design: For my enclosure I built a box tuned to 33hz, and it came out to 3/5 cubes. It is 35x15.5x21. Here are the plans I used: http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported...mp;Fs=&CE=0 And a diagram I followed: I always though black ports look much nicer with black subs, so decided to go that route. O…

I have a 99 navigator that I just got and am getting ready to put a system in. I am strongly considering the FI BTL 18" sub and would like to get a fosgate t40001bd amp. However, the price increased from last time i looked so the t20001bd is probably in my price range moreso then the t40001bd. I will be getting the sub fully loaded and am fairly unexperienced with high quality subs and amps. My first question is how does a single 18 sound and should I go with dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm coils. Will the t20001bd (2000 watts rms @ 1 ohm) be enough to power this sub and make it hit the way it should, or should i go with a different brand of amp ($700 budget)? Finally, would I n…

Ok so everything is ordered and should be here within a week. Car: 2000 explorer Materials: -Alpine cde-102 H/U -18" Fi BL with Cooling, Flatwind. D2, wired to 1 ohm. -Sundown 1500D -8cu ft. box tuned to 32hz. -KNU 1/0 amp wiring kit. -RCA's, etc all form knu -12 gauge speaker wire from KNU Too start of this is just a quick run through to make sure everything is right. First I will be doing Big 3 soon enough but for the first little bit I will be without it. Now I am keeping my stock battery and alt as the battery is very good and the alt is 130amps which should be fine for the one amp. I have installed my h/u with the remote and the rca's running down the right side of t…

I'm a noob to them so I honestly don't know if it was one...lol but after playing with that one I wanna get 2 thats for sure! I cant get a hold of anyone and heard this forum is the way to go. Thanks Guys.

Got a customer that is considering going with either a q10 or ssd 10. Customer mainly listens to rock, metal and other types of music along those lines. If i stick with the 1.5 cu.ft. net spec and tune alittle higher around 35-37 hz, how will that sound. Also, customer requirements is the sub has to be dual 2 ohm 1000 watts continous per what he stated. The vehicle is a1998 single cab Dodge Truck and the enclosure is replacing the center console with the both the sub and port firing back at the cab rear wall. Space from baffle to cab rear wall 6-8 inches. Phil Woodlawn Cabinetry

Pulled a 145.4dB at 47hz in the kick...Now too bad in my opinion considering the box is 8ft^3 net tuned to 33hz...The subs are getting about 800 watts each.. They definitely had a lot more low end than every other daily driving system that I heard at the comp.. Many people were interested in my subs, and I gave out Fi's website several times! Imagine I could get a 147 or so if I got another box that was more SPL oriented..That may be in my future plans.

Ok, here's my question..FI is obviously amazing. I want one!!! I'm driving a 99 Malibu and I want to put a 15"Q in. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it for me to build an ABC box, a standard ported box, or possibly a CRX box. I want clean and loud...don't care about the complexity of an ABC as I find it fun. My only problem is that I deisng an ABC box at 3.5cu ft, 30 hz tune, with 50 sq in of port area. I'm not sure if taht's enough port area. I will be powering the sub with an MTX 6500d. Any help would be great!!!

I'm currently running an eD SQ10 in a tiny sealed stealth enclosure (see this thread in the eD forums for pictures) in the rear hatch of my Scion xA. It sounds ok but I'm looking for something a bit louder and lower. I'm considering replacing the hatch floor with 3/4" MDF and going with a 12" IB3 I should have just enough clearance for it. But, I've searched the forums and haven't seen any mention of the IB3. I'd probably pick up the SVC 2ohm version and put about 500 watts to it from a bridged Boston GT-22. Thanks in advance for any input. E

Ok guys new to the forums i'm looking for some advice on my upcoming electrical situation. I'm going to be ordering the new FI Q 18" with the cooling or bp option when it comes out. I have decided to go with the Sundown Sae-1200d also. The q will be in a 6-10 cf ported box. The car I'm putting the system into is a 2009 Ford Escape. So far everything in the car is stock electrical wise. I have ordered a knukonceptz 1/0 gauge amp kit and around 20 feet more of 1/0 gauge to do the big three. So after the big three and 1/0 gauge wiring i'm curious as to what you guys think i should do electrically with 1200 watts of power, to get the best out of my system. My budget is only a…

This might've been answered before, as most new topics in the forum usually have been, but I thought Fi didn't use to charge for shipping subs? Wasn't it included in the price of the sub before??

i purchased an SSD15 for my niece's car back in October i believe. built a nice ported enclosure around 3.5 cu/ft. i also installed a Kolossus Fleks 0 Gauge amp kit to an ASA800.2 powerbass amp. power at the amp was at 13.6 to 13.8 at full tilt. i also set the gain with a volt meter and tinkered with it by ear. i am no expert by any means, but i did a lot of reading on the subject of install to avoid any kind of clipping. anyways, i told her not to mess with the setting on the head unit. well, played around with her system several months later to find all the settings were jacked up, loud button on, bass boosted in the eq. changed anything back to where i had the…

I received my Q12 last week and finally had sometime this weekend to install it. It's in a 1995 Ford Thunderbird in a ported enclosure tuned to 32hz. It's running off a cadence TXA1000D. Door speakers are Infinity Kappa 682.7 (6x8 2ways...i know, i know...haha) and those are running off of a RF P400.4...Got everything hooked up sunday afternoon and all I have to say is "wow." I've owned a couple of other systems before, but this Q takes them all...hands down. It gets LOUD and still, it doesnt lose ANY quality! My roommate has to cover his ears when i crank it...(hes a girl though...haha) I've shown a couple of kids on campus who have "5000 watt" systems in their car…

Hi everybody, I'm planning on reconing from 12 to 18's. But I'm a little confused, the subs are BL 12 D2 PC. The problem I'm having is the wire looks to be flatwind, I had taken pictures because the coil does not say FW. Also the shipping info does not say Flatwind, infact next to flatwind it says no...Help!! Thank you.

hey whats up fellow bassheads, i had bought my had a 12" re seX for christmas and he has loved it in a sealed box. Ok so he needed to use my car the other day for a trip so he let me use his truck for work. So i was checking out his settings on his amp to see if they are where they should be and the bass boost was on a little bit so i turned it off. ok so i went back to check out how the sub was doing and i gently pushed down on the cone to see how stiff it still was. when i pushed down easily i felt like a scrubbing or kind of a gringing against something?? I have no idea what this could be or could it be blown? i thought it was not normal but then again it doesnt sound …
