Ok, now I figured this is an infinite baffle. Just found out by googling it. Now comes the real question, What positives and negatives come from an inifinite baffle? Do they sound good at all and can they produce some nice SPL or would I be better off just makin a ported enclosure.

Anyone know how much it would cost. I just emailed [email protected] about it. I'm so frustrated with this sub! I bought it from someone and it was making a wierd noise when he pushed on it and he put glue on it and it went away. But when we hooked it up it made a wierd noise when it played. He told me to put some glue on the spider in the center where it connects to the cone and I did that but it still didnt fix the problem. So I turned my gains on my MD2 down to where the sub played fine without it making the noise which was pretty much all the way down and used it from there. On the way to work today it stopped playing so I thought maybe the sub froze because it …

So I have been checkin out his posts and now I am curious. What would be "louder" in an overall sense....4 10" Q's sealed or 2 12" Q's ported. I have no exp what so ever with sealed enclosures and would like to know the answer to this. I know the 10's win with overall surface area, but will the ported cause much more SPL than the 4 10's? Any advice on this would be great cause I have been thinkin about it for quite some time now and it is driving me nuts. Side Note: Probably use a RF4000.1 to 4 10's or Kicker2500.1 or such for 2 12's. THANKS

in case my subs dont sell, im wondering what a recone costs. the purpose of reconing 1 month old subs is simple...trying to make them dual 2 ohm instead of dual 1 ohm and want to see if it would be cheaper to buy the kits instead of selling my bl's and rebuying another set thats dual 2 ohms. two zip codes 91941 and 91730. if i could get a quote on a 18" dual 2 ohm bl recone kit i would appreciate it. oh btw, you can recone to a dual 2 from a dual 1 right? they dont have different dimension that wont fit do they?

I am plannin on probably going with FI for this venture. It is going in the trunk of a Dodge Charger SRT and will be set up according to what goes in there (i.e. plexiglass or not, ports, etc). Just gettin some opinions with this one. It will also be a daily driver. I listen to everything, literally, so I am open to what you guys think.

So, never owning a car in my life, I am getting my first one very soon....big change from trucks and SUVs. I love SPL and am not entirly sure what to do. I was planning on either doing 2 12" Q's ported or 1 12" BTL ported, this is gonna have to be a tough decision for myself. If you have an opinion on what you would prefer, go ahead, be nice to know what other people think. But here is what I need to know also, which way should the subs and port face? They will be going in the trunk of course. Is it correct in saying that the bigger the box is, the smaller the ports need to be and vice versa or no? Just heard this the other day. Any advice at all as well as the an…

Im looking to do a similar swap like Chris did from his TDXs to a "Q"....... I plan on using my eD 9.1 for power and I am having Woodlawn make me a small ported enclosure for my Silverado...... Musicly all i listen to is classic rock,70s,80s...old school disco and new wave (yea yea,im old) I love my TDX in my little hatchback but its very large in depth and hard to make fit the truck As for comps,im still searching but it looks like a set of DLS UP6s are in my future w 150x2 for power.... Being into SQ and liking it loud - is the Q the way to go,maybe one of FI's other offerings? thoughts

I already have a set of cdt cl61A's and tw24's amped with a RF 4002 with a 4 gauge kit from kk installed, and am going to get my SSD shortly. I need to know what kit to go with for the next install. Do you think I'd be fine with 4 gauge or do I need to go with a 2 or 1/0 kit? Thanks

Hey! I finally got my MTX TC8001 amp. 800 RMS @ 2 Ohms. Performance certificate says 916 W, if that helps... I want to get a SSD 15" sub (dual 1+1). I'm going with a ported box, tuned @ 33 Hz. Should I go with a stock SSD with this amp? Or do you recommend coppercoil or FlatwindCoil? Thanks

Hi Everyone, I originally thought there was a problem with the subwoofer in my Expedition so I got an 8" RE re subwoofer on ebay to replace the oem. And this 8" RE8 is the single voice coil version, made back when Scott was in charge =). When I swapped the drivers, unfortunately I found out that it was the amp that was the problem. I opened the amp up and took some pictures of the guts. I didn't see any physical damage. Although I did find a piece of small plastic loose, but the weird thing is that it didn't look like it came from inside the amp. Here are the pics: Anyways, back on topic,... will there ever be an 8" driver. I understand they don't market or sell ver…

hi its me again, i currently have a bl15 great sub, Ive seen people seem to like more the 18 inch subs better than 15" are 18 that much better, i see they need a big box but would the output be that much better if yes what percentage increase do you guys think i can get with a 18". Now my other question how can i make a box for one that is going to be in my caddy devilles trunk i cant go higher than 19 inches tall for the box and i dont think i would make it becuase the sub is 18" plus box material .75, so can i make a box facing up and port facing to the back of the trunk?? would that sound good in a car?? thanks again and comments are apreciated.

I know I will be going with a 12" BTL ported in my trunk. I am just curious about how the BTL compares to the MX. I heard a MX today and it was pretty cool, still hear better things about the BTL regardless. Both are super sexy subs.....and the BTL kills it in price. So, all in all, how do the two compare....SPL, SQ, or even LSQ?
