So before I had a 12" Powerbass running off 400w in a sealed box and it sounded great but was horrible on the lows. Now I was almost dead set on the Q's until I saw everyone saying if you are stuck in-between the BL and the Q to just go for the BL. Either one i get will be fully loaded dual 2 ohm running off a 1000w hifonics Brutus or sundown. I listen to a lot of Dubstep and rap also i like how my Powerbass sounded clean unlike my friends kickers that can shake a car next to it but just didn't sound full?(I can't think of the right word to describe it, it just didn't sound right) ps Sorry for the millionth question like this

Once again you guys at fi have raised the bar with this lineup. I have been running one of the two subs I got so far, on my Soundstream RUB2500.1, at 8 ohm, for about 500 watts RMS to it. I will be building a new enclosure at 3.5 for the pair, tuned to 30 hertz soon. I first ran it in an optimal (0.707) sealed box, at 1.25 cubes, and let me say, it sounded excellent! I'm not a huge fan of sealed subs, but this had me wondering if I left my 18's wired up on accident! Digs plenty low, and sounds excellent doing it. A lot more output than I was expecting for a single sealed sub... Even on oldies and stuff with really light basslines, sounds clean and clear at any volume…

im stock between these two subs. iv been reading different threads about these two, both are great. i just need opinions what sub would suit my music needs. i listen mostly to r&b, hip hop, alternative and sometimes classicals. for my budget a fully loaded q 12 or a stock bl 12. i'l be powering them with an amp 1500rms and i'l be following the recommended enclosures for these two. thanks, i'l appreciate your advices.

So after a lot of research, I've decided to go with the 15" Fi Q. I plan on having it sealed, so I believe I need to do the high QTS (if anyone can explain what this means more that would be awesome). Also I've been told to get the cooling option, dual 2 ohm, and thats all. Any opinions or suggestions? Thank you, and I'm gonna be running it with a Rockford Fosgate Power T1000-1bd

Trying to help my brother out here. The SSD will sound good enough for him, quite a step up from a rf p2 so I'm just going by what would you guys expect to be louder? Each sub would be in a proper enclosure. It'll be in his eclipse, which is a hatchback. Single 10".

I drive a Scion Tc and am in the market to get a new stereo set up in my car. My good friend has a 15" SSD in his Civic Si and I've always liked the way it sounds, but I've also been interested in the 15" Q. I really don't want to give up my back seats or my complete trunk space, so I think I'm going for a sealed box. I really don't know all that much about the technical end of subs and car audio, so I'm just looking for your opinions here. I'm thinking about a 1200w amp as well. Also, I listen to a lot of heavier music (metalcore, metal, post-hardcore), electronic/dubstep stuff, and rap while in the car. Thank you!

Hey guys im new to this site so im not sure if im doing this right haha. But anyways, my problem: I currently have 2 Kicker CVR 10's in a prefab ported box running off a 500rms monoblock MTX amp. Im selling this setup to a freind of mine and getting something alot nicer. I am leaning extremely hard towards getting a FI Q 12 built with a cooling system, QTS, and the extra spider installed. I plan on buying a Rockford Fosgate r1000-1d to power the Q. I want to go sealed because I really want this new system to be towards sound quality. I was thinking of a 1.0 cu sealed box or something around that area. I do not have a ton of extra money laying around so before I go …

I am relatively new to car audio and brand new to the forum but I love the quality and build of Fi subs and I need to be a part of it!. I am torn though, I've got an amp that puts out 640 watts rms and I can't decide between picking up two of the 12" black Fi day specials or one 15" SSD? The SSD is a bit more, but what do you guys think? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Im planning on buying either a fully loaded ssd 12 or a soundstream splx. So i need a good amp that can push about 1000-1200 watts rms for around $175. Ive looked at autotek, crunch, hifonics, planet audio, etc. Anybody have any experience with a cheap but trustworthy amp?

I'm looking into buying a Fi BL 18 but I am wondering how much the woofer sticks out from the baffle (Like if the woofer was mounted to the box, how high does the woofer protrude out from the box). I need if possible the exact measurement. Thanks Matt

I read a majority of the comparisons but still can't decide, basically I have an aq3500d for the power, it will be in a 2000 explorer walled, I'll be getting 2 18's. I love c&s rap with mid 20hz notes and higher. I want it to be able to destroy those notes. I also listen to alot of "un-touched" rap and some rock. I was shocked how many ppl recommend the bl so I figured I'd ask. Thanks for any help

Just sold my Fi X12 with a fosgate amp and now im looking to buy a new 12. Initially, I was interested in the Bl but after thinking about it, i dont want to spend 300 bucks on a sub(dont have the money right now). So i looked at the SSD which seems like a good sub for a good price. However, onlinecarstereo is offering a soundstream splx 122hx (normally 300) for 200 so i was just wondering if anybody had any experience with both an ssd and an splx or even just an splx.
