I am really looking forward to getting a Q15 but its taking some time and I need to make a decision soon. It will probably take another copuple of weeks to get the stuff finalized with the FI, based on how busy those guys are (still waiting for shipping costs etc. from them to place the order) vs. the Sonance, I can probablly have shipped within 3 days or so. I was told that the new RDSonance 15" (1200rms) is comparable to the FI Q15". I have read al lot and experienced the FI products but have never been exposed to the SOnance products. I really lie the FI's but time is begining to become a factor. Does anyone have any thoughts or feedback that can help me make a d…

Hi done alot of snooping around looking at setting up FI's in my car will be in a Ford XR6 Turbo (aussie car Large 4 Door sports / family car) currently running 2 x P3 12's rockfords and a P1.6 600w rms Alpine D amp in a ported box.. I love my sound quality but also like Db's.. If i run 2 x 15Q's can they be ported or should they be sealed for best Quality.. Or should I just go a couple BL's ported.. These will be Trunk mounted. Also what amp should I go ... See alot of people saying Sundowner Will 2 x 15" Q's or bl's handle 2 SAE-1000D strapped together ? or just run 1 Amp. I like a varied range of music from Rap to Metal and pink floyd ! lol . Will be over in Nevada…

I thought about the five 8'' kicker comps and realized they were bad from the start so for a little more money I seen the 15'' FI.SSD for only 269.99 (Fully Loaded!!) but for 20 bucks more I seen the 18'' FI.SSD for 299.99 (Fully Loaded!!). I know 18's hit harder, deeper and sound better than 15's but the question is I have a 2004 Chevy Aveo (Sedan 4-door Not hatchback) so I was thinking a 18 probably wouldnt fit so i was thinking i would get the 18'' but have it custom made for the trunk. I really want a 18 but please help me out on this one! Fi.SSD Specs https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...view.shopscript Oh yeah this guy told me ''18's suck they sound very sl…

ok, i posted this in the general section, then realized there was a specific Fi section ok, currently i have an old Orion H2. great sub, but its starting to make popping noises, i don't have a warranty, and i'd rather just buy a new sub than try to fix it. so right now im looking at the 18" Fi BL. anybody have any experience with the BL compared to the Q? any significant difference in SQ or SPL? it will be in a 6-6.5 cu. ft ported with 1200 watts...any decibel estimates? or does anybody have any idea what Fi's new line will be? new to this forum, thanks for any help -Chris

I have a couple of questions regarding the 10" FI Q. Will a JL Audio 500/1 be enough to get decent SQ out of the D1 sub, wired for 2 Ohms? I'm looking for nice, tight bass, rather than real loud. What's the optimum sealed box size for this sub? I'm looking at two pre-made boxes for my 350Z, one is .75 cubic feet (Large understrut 350Z box), the other is .43 cubic feet (Small 350Z box --both measured before the displacement of the FIQ10, which is .12 ft^3, according to the specs page. That's approx 6.3 ft^3 for the larger understrut box (I can add some add some wood to the inside to get that down under .6 ft^3), or .31 ft^3 for the smaller box -- which seems pretty tin…

Hey all, I've never owned Fi, but I love what I've seen and read and I've decided it will be the sub for my next setup. I'm going with a single sub setup and based on my music preference I'm wondering what everyone's suggestion would be on whether to go with the SSD 12 or 15. I listen to alt. rock/metal and on occassion rap when I'm just in the mood for some ridiculous bass. I wanted to go sealed based on my music choice but I know the 15 is not recommended for sealed applications. I've never listened to rock in a ported enclosure so does anyone have any first hand experience on what rock would sound like on a 15" ported? (I assume it would not be good at all but maybe I'…

Is the displacement of the bl 15 different when its fully loaded(cooling, flatwind, dual 2,daily)? Most likely so. I'm using bass box pro to design a box but it only has the specs for the base bl(.18^3ft.) I know I want my box to be 4.0^3ft @ 32hz but I need to know the displacemnet to get it exact or as close to exact as possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Well here's the final layout guys, let me know what you think. Subwoofers: 2 12" Fi Q, No Bp, Dual 2 Amplifier: Elemental Designs Nine.1; Wired to 1ohm so both speakers are running 600 watts each. Enclosure: 1.3 cu ft sealed box. Now its very embarrassing to mention this but everything else in the car is stock (The HU, the door speakers). The reason for this is that this system is going into an 08 accord, and for people who have looked at the factory stereo of the accord(LX model), its kind of difficult to find a HU that will "integrate" into the car without it looking like total crap. It looks very nice the way it is, but its just so damn complicated making the system e…

When I first joined this forum, I had intentions of buying a FI BL and a sundown 1500d, but after i figured out the total costs of wiring , box, and all the goodies, it was WAYYYY too much for me. I am now looking into a FI SSD 12" or 15". What amp would you recommend for this subwoofer, it would be for a ported enclousure btw. Sundown is costly for me, but hifonics is crap quality from what i hear. So just need a decent amp to push the subwoofer. Thanks! Ps. and gauge wire would i need to run?

I currently have 2 15" Fi SSDs with the copper coils in a 8ft^3 enclosure tuned to 33hz. They are getting about 1600 watts. I am thinking about upgrading to the Fi Qs and using the same enclosure and power.. Would it be worth the upgrade? What differences would I see?
