Greetings, and thank you in advance for considering my inquiries. : ) After becoming privy to the specs and recommendations for the 15" BLs, Qs, and SSDs, I have hit a wall in my plans for purchase. It appears ported enclosures are exclusively recommended for the BLs and SSDs of this driver size. However, the problem is the recommended tuning of which is higher than my target low frequency response of 20 hertz. My questions are: 1). Are these recommended tuning figures aimed at SPL applications? I'm far more concerned with brilliantly effective low range response than mid- bass volume. 2). Can they be tuned to 20 hertz and still be effective drivers? 3). If not, would a …

Hey guys I'm running (2) 12 btl on 4000rms tuned at 35hz. My low past freq is set some where between 75hz-80hz but no high past filter.I ordered an pfmod adjustable subsonic filter but I'm not sure should I set it at 30hz or 35hz. I would have preferred setting it at 33hz but it not an option on the filter that I'm useing. Fi recommend setting 2hz to 3hz below enclosure tuning thank guys.

hi, i am planning a new system and i have decided to give FI subs a try. so my question is how much RMS can a 15" Q really handle with the cooling, spider, and i ring heat coil? i was looking to throw 2200 rms at it. i also looked at the BL but its out of my price range and i want SQ. my last system consisted of 2 15L7s that i had on 3200 rms. they were rated at 750 rms each but were taking more than double in a 10 cube ported box, so im thinking these Q's can handle what i have in store for them. the sub will be going in a trunk of a crown vic. i know that fi subs are underrated but i dont know much. the amp will most likely be an aq2200d. as far as electrical goes i ha…

Would a the US Amp MD 2D be enough for 2 10" SSDs with the copper coil? The does the amp really produce 1500 watts at 1 ohm? Or is it overrated?

Im getting a Fi SSD 15". I need to know what options to get and what i should get for an amp. Its GOING TO BE A DAILY SUB THAT WILL BEAT TO ITS MAX EVERY DAY. I want to go with the hifonics brand amp and wonder which is right. I myself think it'll take 1,500 rms no prob. These are the amps im considering... I want to get a 4.0 cu ft box tuned to 32 hz HIFONICS TXI1508D ---------1,500 rms HIFONICS-BXI1608D ---------1,600 rms HIFONICS BXI1208D----------1,200 rms All are 1ohm stable Im going with hifonics cause they are affordable but open to others. i only have like 400 for an amp.

I was wondering if anyone would have any insight on my possible set up plans with my enclosure and sub and amp. First off my vehicle is a 1995 3000gt. I want to go with a single sub because it will be easier and far cheaper to set up. So would a 15 fit or would only a 12 fit? I was thinking either one of those BLs with all the options on a decent 1000-1500 watt amp would probably be ideal? Also are the speaker wire kits on ebay that are 2 gauge ideal? They cost like $40-$70 on there. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have been building my brothers blazer for stereo competition. I have the build in the build log area under "walling an s-10 blazer". The system is Four MA Audio 802sx amps (about 2500 watts RMS) to four 15inch fully loaded BLs with the SPL option and they are dual one ohm. The amps are then running at 1/2 ohm mono. They are in a 23 cubic foot box with a port mouth of 32 x 9 inches and it is 2 1/4 inches deep. Our best test score today was a 153.7 at 51 hz. We tried longer ports but the one we started with is the loudest so far. We have not tried making the port mouth smaller and it can not be any bigger. We also have not tried putting stuff in the box to take up…

Here's the deal... The car is a 2001 chevrolet s10 blazer 4 door and i currently have a 12in l7 kicker (4ohm dvc) with an enclosure of 3.75^3.ocft @ 35hz... powering with an Sundown audio saz1000.1d the sub is currently gettinh 600rms on a 2ohm load... i'm looking for something with quality and want it to get low and loud. i've came to a conlusion to go with an Fi q, the only problem is i don't know whether to go with a 12in fi q 2.5cft@ 32hz or a 15in fi q with an 2.6cft... not sure of options since havn't made up my mid on what size nor know what options to go with with either setup... i will be running the amp on a 1ohm load to feed 1k rms to this fi q. i'm leaning mor…

okay I'm really confused right now. I have a feeling it's the cold messing with stuff but I'll seek some guidance anyways. So one day I warmed my sub up good and set the input lvl on my amp so it was all good no bottoming out or clipping or anything. I even set it with the volume a bit higher than I normally listen just to be safe. So then it gets really cold so I turn the sub woofer lvl down on my H/u. I've had it down for a bit now and as I warm it up I'll gradually turn that up along with the bass control knob. The other day I'm on my way to work (~15 min drive) and listening to my music after I had already been warming it up for a bit too. When I'm nearing work i cont…

Hi, i just have this dilemma on what to tune my box to for my Fi BL 10 going on the trunk of a Sedan i saw in the sticky topic that 32hz is the optimal tuning, does that also apply for Sedans? cause i just had this thought that tuning it to 32hz might not give much punch anymore and will only get loud on lows, is 34-35hz better for a Sedan? Thanks in Advance! -Carlo

So my 1st sp4, caught on fire in my trunk, i was told it was user error (even tho i believe it wasnt) - as i own a Tripple stack btl, hdc 4, Mtx 9500, DD 9500, hdc 3 10s, xfl 12s, and none of them have caught on fire.. but now this Sp4, the damn lead came loose from the coil i guess? i took a pic of it. Im sure this will be ruled as user error (even though i more then likely will not agree with it) however, you guys are the experts so i was wondering if you could let me know what may have caused this.. Everything was perfect, 1 coil just stopped working..

Alright so I am trying to build a box for a Fi Car audio Q 12" woofer. They recommend I build a box using 1.8-2.5 cubic feet @ 28-33Hz (32hz tuning is optimal, and has the most output and is still the most musical daily driving), and to use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume. I am talking to Chris at fishercustoms, and he is helping me design a box. I was using the RE Enclosure Calculator, and I'm not sure what he uses. I gave him my max specs, 23" long x 15.5" wide x 16" high, and he came up with: 1.8 cu ft, 33 hz, 1.74" x 14" port ( 13.53 sq in vent area per cu ft) When i put those dimensions into the RE ported enclosure Calculator, i got: 2.068 c…
