Hey I going to be getting 2 Fi BTLs fully loaded with the daily instead of SPL option, should I get the Rockford Fosgate 4000-1BD or Sundown 3500D?

I am truly worried about this since I am eager to get a X10 or X12 and it has to deal with power issues. I have an Arc Audio XXD 2080 and it des 240 x 1 @ 4 ohms when bridged. I truly have been wanting to get a Fi Audio sub since three years ago but would like to know would the amp and the X10 or X12 would work together hand in hand or would it be a total flop?

Im getting a new double din headunit, 2 door speakers w/ tweeters, (Which i will wire to the headunit) I plan on getting the n2 18 What amp, would be best to run this at its best performance daily? I won't be going to competitions or anything. If you can please let me know a couple good options that arent super expensive, i am not on an unlimited budg…

Hate to be that noobie, but I've scoured the web and everything I can find for the options refers to the old options and none of the newer ones that are selectable. Could someone help a noob out here? haha.

I'm currently a college student majoring in Electrical Engineering. A few years back, I competed in roughly about two MECA competitions as a hobby. The experience was great, but short lived. With my new schedule, I'm able to juggle classes and a job. With that said, I've decided to go back into competing so that I can have something "fun" to do outside of studying hard during the week. I'm specifically looking to compete for SPL in MECA. What I buy from Fi will strictly be based off of the new point system for MECA. There are several classes, and I'd either like to compete in either Street 1 or Street 2. Street 3 is simply above my budget as a current college student. The…

I figured I'd start this topic because I have noticed there are a lot of people asking this questions, I even still have a few questions. The most common besides enclosure questions is those about how powering the BTL, so maybe this will be a good blanket to answer many questions. Q1. When most people buy this sub they don't have an enormous expensive amp to power it to it's full potential-as most people just want something to hold up good for daily use and don't plan on seriously competing with it. Being that the RMS is 2000 watts, is this the minimum recommended? Obviously 500 watts will make it play, but to see good results what is the smallest amount of power recommen…

okay I'm really confused right now. I have a feeling it's the cold messing with stuff but I'll seek some guidance anyways. So one day I warmed my sub up good and set the input lvl on my amp so it was all good no bottoming out or clipping or anything. I even set it with the volume a bit higher than I normally listen just to be safe. So then it gets really cold so I turn the sub woofer lvl down on my H/u. I've had it down for a bit now and as I warm it up I'll gradually turn that up along with the bass control knob. The other day I'm on my way to work (~15 min drive) and listening to my music after I had already been warming it up for a bit too. When I'm nearing work i cont…

I have a bl 18 with a jl 1000/1 running it..the other day i was driving and it jus shut off, I checked to see if i could see what was causing it and the amp was still on but the sub wasn't working..a little bit later it came on and would shut off after it hit a couple times. Then it came on one day and worked flawlessly for 3 or 4 days and now its shutting off again. I think it might have something to do with the temperature because the days it worked it was 50-60 out instead of in the 40's on the days it shut off. I checked the ground and all the connections and they're fine. what do you guys think it could be? please help me out thanks

  13. I'm gonna be putting together a daily driver system soon, and want something that pounds, has control, and sounds bad ass doing it.. I have a 2007 Trailblazer SS.... I listen to a lot of death metal, heavy metal, some alternative, some rap, and techno/electronic type music as well.. I've been kicking around the idea of three 12" Image Dynamics IDQ's, or three 12" Alpine Type R's (i know, not the same league), or even three JL 12w6v2's.... I looked at the Fi Q's, and they're nice, but a little more than I wish to spend per sub. The SSD's are a much better option. I put them in WinISD, and much to my suprise, the response is pretty much spot on with the 12w6v2.. So now,…

  15. So I guess this isn't really Fi specific but I've got this box modeled up in sketchup and I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to add an angled piece to each corner and to cut an angle into the inside turn of the port at the corner or if leaving it the way it is would be fine. I haven't ever heard a back to back comparison with two similar boxes, one with the angled corners and one without so any input would be great!

I have (4) N2 15s walled in my car. They've been installed for a couple months now and have been ripping my head off daily. Doing a 155 outlaw at 28hz! Anyways, today I seemingly lost a coil on one sub. No smoke or anything of that nature, just for some reason one coil on one sub is done for. Took the sub out and the voice coil looks fresh as can be. The other coil on the sub also reads out just fine. All of my other subs are also perfectly fine. Really have no idea what the hell happened. Subs were bought brand new from Fi of course. Can or would this be fixed under warranty? I'd really like to get this taken care of before the comp season starts heating up here.

Someone with a lot of experience might be able to tell me what the results of my plans could be? I really don't want to make another huge box a month or so from now, and wood is expensive, so I was planning on building a 20cube box @ 32hz for my 2 btls 18s I have now. In another month or so I plan on getting another 2 btls, which I could simply cut 2 more holes for them and use the same box. does this sound reasonable? I'm sure the first two subs would be OK with that much space, but will there be any real negative effects to doing this? I know there will be a slight change to the specs after the displacement from the subs, but it will only be around 1/2 a foot. Thanks a …

Hello , Fi community I got my fi Q 18inch a month ago. I had some time to play with it.... hooked on a bxi2006d @1ohm Right now, it's in a 6.5 net enclosure tuned to 30hz with three 4x15 inch aeros. It hit the 35-40hz freq nicely, but i'm sure i can get more out of it. This summer, i'll be might be working on a way to use my wheel pit and get another 2ft/cu maybe. How will the increase enclosure volume help the Q, i mean in loudness and sq. I'm thinking i might get more prononced 30-40hz range, is that accurated? how much louder? is it worth the trouble fiberglassing the wheel pit??? Also, the 55-80hz range ain't loud at all, is it normal? i mean my old alpine type r we…

Whats up, Can anyone give me advice on how many cubes my sealed enclosure should be and what it should it be tuned to? I will give it hopefully 1300 rms with a hif1606d. I listen to about 80 % rock/classic rock/metal/blues/acoustic live chit and about 20% rap but I will probably listen to more rap since I will have a sub. The sub needs to play 80hz and below. My goal is pure sq not spl Thanks for any input Captain SSD(lol and its gonna be a q)

Received my 2 fi BL 12s yesterday, I'm very satisfied with em but I believe they will get a lot louder in a different box design, I currently have a 34w x 15h x 20d "maximum size box that'll fit" with a slotted port on each side of the subs, I'm unsure on length of port its been 3 months since I built it, believe im tuned around 34hz, I'm running 2 1500's strapped "1ohm per amp" n 2 yellow tops, anyone willing to design a box that's no bigger then the dimensions above as far as tuning I'm thinkin 32hz I listen to rap music n demo with decafs any help is highly appreciated

Just made a topic so you don't have to scroll through pages to find it... Ok first things first. The test was done in my car with my equipment (in signature). The box is 4.5 cubic feet net tuned to 32 hz with 57.25 in^2 of port area. Subs: 15" Havoc and 15" Q with BP option (both have embedded tinsels) Yummy pics: Here are TermLab results... Outlaw style (at the kick, both windows open) Q: Havoc: Legal (sealed up at the dash) Q: Havoc: Listening experience: To tell you the truth, unless you are a freaking machine, I doubt you would be able to tell the difference between these two drivers under the exact same circumstances. Now everything I am saying is dealing wit…
