I'm getting absolutly no sound out of my sub it was working fine for about 10 minutes earlier and than i unhooked it so I could set the gain correctly with a dmm and after I hooked it back up I got nothing from the sub The first time I hooked it up at had it at 1/4 gain up so I'm sure it was not clipping and I only played it on low volumes, I also didnt smell any burning So could could sub be blown? Dvc 2 ohm wires parallel to 1 ohm off kx1200

So I guess this isn't really Fi specific but I've got this box modeled up in sketchup and I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to add an angled piece to each corner and to cut an angle into the inside turn of the port at the corner or if leaving it the way it is would be fine. I haven't ever heard a back to back comparison with two similar boxes, one with the angled corners and one without so any input would be great!

I have (4) N2 15s walled in my car. They've been installed for a couple months now and have been ripping my head off daily. Doing a 155 outlaw at 28hz! Anyways, today I seemingly lost a coil on one sub. No smoke or anything of that nature, just for some reason one coil on one sub is done for. Took the sub out and the voice coil looks fresh as can be. The other coil on the sub also reads out just fine. All of my other subs are also perfectly fine. Really have no idea what the hell happened. Subs were bought brand new from Fi of course. Can or would this be fixed under warranty? I'd really like to get this taken care of before the comp season starts heating up here.

Hello , Fi community I got my fi Q 18inch a month ago. I had some time to play with it.... hooked on a bxi2006d @1ohm Right now, it's in a 6.5 net enclosure tuned to 30hz with three 4x15 inch aeros. It hit the 35-40hz freq nicely, but i'm sure i can get more out of it. This summer, i'll be might be working on a way to use my wheel pit and get another 2ft/cu maybe. How will the increase enclosure volume help the Q, i mean in loudness and sq. I'm thinking i might get more prononced 30-40hz range, is that accurated? how much louder? is it worth the trouble fiberglassing the wheel pit??? Also, the 55-80hz range ain't loud at all, is it normal? i mean my old alpine type r we…

Received my 2 fi BL 12s yesterday, I'm very satisfied with em but I believe they will get a lot louder in a different box design, I currently have a 34w x 15h x 20d "maximum size box that'll fit" with a slotted port on each side of the subs, I'm unsure on length of port its been 3 months since I built it, believe im tuned around 34hz, I'm running 2 1500's strapped "1ohm per amp" n 2 yellow tops, anyone willing to design a box that's no bigger then the dimensions above as far as tuning I'm thinkin 32hz I listen to rap music n demo with decafs any help is highly appreciated

Just made a topic so you don't have to scroll through pages to find it... Ok first things first. The test was done in my car with my equipment (in signature). The box is 4.5 cubic feet net tuned to 32 hz with 57.25 in^2 of port area. Subs: 15" Havoc and 15" Q with BP option (both have embedded tinsels) Yummy pics: Here are TermLab results... Outlaw style (at the kick, both windows open) Q: Havoc: Legal (sealed up at the dash) Q: Havoc: Listening experience: To tell you the truth, unless you are a freaking machine, I doubt you would be able to tell the difference between these two drivers under the exact same circumstances. Now everything I am saying is dealing wit…

I am getting one 10" Fi SSD sub-woofer very soon and I am having a bit of trouble on what to do for the enclosure. I drive a small, 1998 Ford Pickup, single cab. I am convinced, and determined, that it is possible to put a sub in any vehicle, but there really is very limited space back there to put anything. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions? I am looking for the best sound I can get, but I understand if it won't be optimal. Getting the materials and building it will be no problem, just need to know how to tackle this.

I have been building my brothers blazer for stereo competition. I have the build in the build log area under "walling an s-10 blazer". The system is Four MA Audio 802sx amps (about 2500 watts RMS) to four 15inch fully loaded BLs with the SPL option and they are dual one ohm. The amps are then running at 1/2 ohm mono. They are in a 23 cubic foot box with a port mouth of 32 x 9 inches and it is 2 1/4 inches deep. Our best test score today was a 153.7 at 51 hz. We tried longer ports but the one we started with is the loudest so far. We have not tried making the port mouth smaller and it can not be any bigger. We also have not tried putting stuff in the box to take up…

Hi, Need experienced help, I just received and installed my Fi SP4 15 D2, powered by a Crescendo B3500D(the volume on the amp is up to 75% on the gain knob on the amp and bass boost in 0 and on the head unit the subwoofer level is in max), and I feel the bass is weak for what I expected... 1- Is this normal? Or what should I do? 2- Is there a specific way to put the ohm load down to 1 ohm on the sub? 3- What specific grill fits this sub? Thank you.

Ok well i built a box for an 18" Fi BL the specs are 42" wide, 22" high, and 22" deep. The port is 5 inches wide and 15.5 inches long. tuning it in the upper 31hz range. The box was like 8.3 cu ft. before woofer displacement. is that too big for a 18" BL with flatwind coil? Because the box doesn't sound good at all. and the woofer gets pretty warm on zx1000.1. I feel like its too big but i could be wrong.

Hello Im building a box soon for a Fi BTL N2 15, and its going in a honda accord. But im tired of thinking that all the sound is in the trunk, so i was planning on removing the backseats, and build the box so the sub and the port would point forwards. (So the sub and port would be right behind where the seatback's should have been and the box inside the trunk. (kinda like this: What do you guys think? Would i get more sound pressure in the front seats this way? Or would it be better with the sub in the trunk and maybe port up the parcel shelf? Any ideas what would give me most pressure in the frontseats? Thanks alot

i know first thing everyone will say is why sealed, ive just been a sealed type of guy all my life, nothing against ported..but its not my taste..so i know on fi's site for 18's they suggest 4-8cu ft per sub..im having a shop make my box for me so its not like i can experiment with different sizes..so for a sealed application and for a mix of rap and rock what do you guys suggest in a box size for each 18? space isnt a issue its going in the back of a denali

Hey guys. I'm trying to finish up designing the subwoofer/amp combo for my 02 Yukon. I currently have an RE SX 15, 5.5 cubes at 33hz, on a jbl bp1200.1 My new one will be a single fully loaded BTL 18, 8 cubes, exactly 119 sq inches port area, at 33hz. It will be fed by a Hifonics Colossus (3200rms at 2). All power/ground will be 1/0 KnuKoncepts Kollosus cable (5000+ strands), Optima Yellowtop up front, Iraggi Amputator 175 idle/220 at 1400, possibly another yellowtop in the rear later on. Box will be 48Lx24.5Dx18.5Hl, with an internal dimentions of 46.5x23x17, with a 7x17" port (119sq inches port area) and 28" long. The port itself (with MDF included) will take up approxi…

So my q12 arrived on Wednesday to my work (where I have all shipments sent) but I was out sick for two days and I come into work this morning to find the box with a big hole in one side and looking very rough. https://plus.google.com/photos/116140861359253571917/albums/5871144803493812177 The magnet has damage all the way around the bottom edge, cracks and pieces chipped off. I have not attempted to hook it up yet and my question is should I even bother...
