Well, Im planning on buying my fi btl n2 18 aroudn december, near christmas! I have an 03 nissan xterra, so im sure there is enough room for a box in there, but the problem is, i barely know anything about sound systems and their setup/ configurations. If anyone could please explain what i would need, i would appreciate it. Im getting a new double din headunit, 2 door speakers w/ tweeters, (Which i will wire to the headunit) I plan on getting the n2 18 What amp, would be best to run this at its best performance daily? I won't be going to competitions or anything. If you can please let me know a couple good options that arent super expensive, i am not on an unlimited budg…

I have not attempted to hook it up yet and my question is should I even bother...

I know the routine in making a sealed enclosure but have a few questions before I begin.... This is the first one I am making for my 15" Q and I am getting 3/4 mdf and using 1.5" on the front where the sub is mounted. I was planning on using liquid nails to glue the boards together and then screw them- should I then caulk around the inside after that? Also when doubling up the front baffle, should I just glue and screw two pieces of 3/4 mdf together and then attach to the rest of the box and cut my sub hole in both? Any other tips, or things I forgot before I start building? Thanks guys for the help!

Hey I have a 12" fi bl and I need to recone it I have it all striped down and the basket I sanded all that crap off but I need some advice on how to recone the sub and what I should do thanks for your help

right now i have a fi ssd on an aq1200d but i want to get a btl and maybe score the free cooling option before july 29 but i haven't been able to sell my aq1200d so i'm thinking bout keeping it and just buying another one and strapping them together but i will only be able to run it at 2 ohms so what would be better 2 aq1200d's @ 2 ohms or 1 aq2200 @ 1 ohm ? and how would i wire the 2 aq1200d's? this is my first post so sorry if it's messed up at all lol

I am running an AQ-1200D @ .7 ohms to a 15 BL and my friend installed it yesterday and set the gain on the amp a little less than half way and when i turn the bass knob about 3/4 up and turn the volume up to like 25 out of 35 the clipping indicator on the bass knob illuminates on and off with the bass hits on some notes. its aggravating the shit out of me because I just spent alot of money and I dont want my shit to fuck up. He told me the amp could be too small for the sub or the HU is sending out bad waves to the amp. It sounds amazing, dont get me wrong. I just wanted some advice on how to get the clipping to stop. i have a guy that wants me to do a wall install in a 2004 sunfirefor 2 btl 15's or 18's. im going to have the wall on the smaller side so it can take a little more power but do you guys think 2 btl's can take a xx-maxximus (last years) for everyday use??? or would he be better off with 2 xxv-Colossus (new ones)??

Hello , Fi community I got my fi Q 18inch a month ago. I had some time to play with it.... hooked on a bxi2006d @1ohm Right now, it's in a 6.5 net enclosure tuned to 30hz with three 4x15 inch aeros. It hit the 35-40hz freq nicely, but i'm sure i can get more out of it. This summer, i'll be might be working on a way to use my wheel pit and get another 2ft/cu maybe. How will the increase enclosure volume help the Q, i mean in loudness and sq. I'm thinking i might get more prononced 30-40hz range, is that accurated? how much louder? is it worth the trouble fiberglassing the wheel pit??? Also, the 55-80hz range ain't loud at all, is it normal? i mean my old alpine type r we…

I'm gonna be putting together a daily driver system soon, and want something that pounds, has control, and sounds bad ass doing it.. I have a 2007 Trailblazer SS.... I listen to a lot of death metal, heavy metal, some alternative, some rap, and techno/electronic type music as well.. I've been kicking around the idea of three 12" Image Dynamics IDQ's, or three 12" Alpine Type R's (i know, not the same league), or even three JL 12w6v2's.... I looked at the Fi Q's, and they're nice, but a little more than I wish to spend per sub. The SSD's are a much better option. hey guys, im gettin either 1 or 2 amps, here are my options, 1 of these bridged http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12212_...+BXi+2608D.html or 2 of these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12210_...+BXi+1208D.html these are mono d class amps, now the bridging of the single amp is my concern, i ordered dual 1 of the BLs, would this diagram work? the subs are 1 ohm correct? so would this diagram still be somewhat valid? and if this does work, how would i design the box, because currently im planning to separate the chambers, unless one of you can direct me in the right way or i can jsut get the 2 smaller amps

Look at title. As an example, a 15" Fi SSD both D1 and D2 have the same specs except for a 40% higher BL on the D2, can someone please explain what is happening that makes this configuration have that much more motor force?

I was wondering if anyone would have any insight on my possible set up plans with my enclosure and sub and amp. First off my vehicle is a 1995 3000gt. I want to go with a single sub because it will be easier and far cheaper to set up. So would a 15 fit or would only a 12 fit? I was thinking either one of those BLs with all the options on a decent 1000-1500 watt amp would probably be ideal? Also are the speaker wire kits on ebay that are 2 gauge ideal? They cost like $40-$70 on there. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it.

Already have a ported box for the sis as I built it last week with the purchase of these subs in mind, but just read the pinned thread about the Qs. I listen to everything from avenged sevenfold to maroon 5 to jack Johnson to lil Wayne and kirko bangz. So I really am Looking for a setup that "does it all" and sounds good while doing it. A lot of music other than rap spuds muddy and sloppy on my current RE SeX 12s (prefab and custom enclosures) and just haven't been happy with the sound. Everything kind of runs together. As of right now, I have 2 800 watt sony amps. Its about 350 RMS at 2 ohms, and is unstable at 1 ohm. My link I have a BL 15, and I'm wondering if this severe underpowering of the sub is dangerous. I don't have the money right now to upgrade on an amp. Also, is it possible to use both the 800 watt amps to power the one 15?

I'm getting absolutly no sound out of my sub it was working fine for about 10 minutes earlier and than i unhooked it so I could set the gain correctly with a dmm and after I hooked it back up I got nothing from the sub The first time I hooked it up at had it at 1/4 gain up so I'm sure it was not clipping and I only played it on low volumes, I also didnt smell any burning So could could sub be blown? hey guys im new to the forum and i have a question. im thinking about ordering a dual 2ohm 15" and wiring it down. my only fear is having my amp go into protect mode. my amp goes into protect at .8 ohm. what do the sp4 15" dual 2 ohm coils actually read. are they actually dual 1.27's if their re: 1.27 Ohms/coil? even if i wired it down to .635 do you think i'd be okay after box rise? im going to build a daily driver tuned around 28-30hz 500 is a good chunk of change and it would suck if i had to wire it up http://store.ficaraudio.com/sp415/ thanks for your help guys

I have two BL tens and I was looking to recone them but I can't figure out if it has a flatwind coil. If it doesn't can I upgrade to it without it being a problem? How can I tell if it has one or not cuz I need it but idk if it'll work with it

I have 4 FI BL 12's and was wondering how many cubes net should I build an enclosure for them? Also how low should I tune to do hair tricks? They will be seeing a little over 6,000 watts of power.

Do you need big power to make the BL series subs play at their best? Will they play low and deep on 1,000 watts?
