Buddy of mine has 2 bl 18's ran off 1 sundown 2500d, he has them in slot port now in about 12.5 cubes gross. They sound decent, but dont really have the lows, and its tuned to 32hz. He wants new box with 4 6" aeros's in about 16 cubes net tuned to 32hz. How does this sound for size? I ran 2 bl 18's about 2 years ago off 2 sundown 1500d's in about 18 cubes net with slot port and they pounded the lows, and sounded perfect. I just havent done any builds with aero ports.

Ok guys heres the situation. I ordered a BL 15 with cooling and flat wind dual 2 ohm. I'm building a box myself and having trouble on what to do with the port. The box is planned at 3.76 ft^3 with the woofer displacement added in. Its recommended to have 12-16 sq in of port per cube so i need anywhere from 45-60 sq in of port. I want to just maybe slap a 3x6 aero port or maybe a 4x6 aero port. The 3x6 is 42 sq in and the 4x6 is 75. Both not in the range i need. Also looked on amazon and found precision ports 3 in and a 4 in round. Doesn't say the length on them tho . Reviews say there adjustable somehow. Help would be appreciated. Also wanted some recommendations on ampl…

Hello all, first off let me say I am new to this forum, and hope to enjoy my visit here. I just recently bought a Fi SSD 15" sub, on the 16th or 17th and I realize it is probably going to take forever (or what feels like it ) to receive it, and the wait is already getting to me as I used to have Kicker CVR's and they died and so currently I have no bass! Ahh killing me hehe, so therefore I decided to take a bigger step up in the world of bass. My question is, I am in no way, any good at enclosure building, I mean I could put together a sealed box but who can't? I need a ported enclosure, and while I understand what tuning is, I have no idea mathematically how to figu…

Hey guys I'm running (2) 12 btl on 4000rms tuned at 35hz. My low past freq is set some where between 75hz-80hz but no high past filter.I ordered an pfmod adjustable subsonic filter but I'm not sure should I set it at 30hz or 35hz. I would have preferred setting it at 33hz but it not an option on the filter that I'm useing. Fi recommend setting 2hz to 3hz below enclosure tuning thank guys.

So...I installed my new sax-125.2 amp for my components...got it hooked up...turn on the truck....HORRIBLE alternator whine.... so i grounded the RCA cables on the HU and bam its fixed(pioneer HU btw)... so then i went ahead and tested my components. well i turned up the volume and BAM my Fi Q just died . i tested each connection with a DMM until i took out the sub and well i lost a coil...i have no clue what happened...the sub is going on 3 years old now and i know how that sub acts by heart. i know i wasnt pushing it too hard and i was at 2 ohm on my saz-1500d in a 2.4 cu ft sealed box before sub displacement. also it was on for maybe 20 seconds before it died so i kno…

Thanks for the help in advance. Trunk Dimensions: Height Sloping from 20" - 17" at the back. Length: 15". Width: 36". Simplicity is key since i do not have access to many tools.

Also Plan to run a 1500 rms to each, should i get a extra spider? just dont want to lose the low end making it to stiff in a sealed box. input would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all, Havent been on the forums for a while but Im doing a new build and need some recommendations. I was thinking of purchasing 2 Q10" subs and installing them in .8cu ft enclosures. These enclosures are Subthump stealth boxes that fit behind the wheel wells of a 2010 Camaro. I have a few questions. 1) Whats the diameter of the magnet on the 10" Q? The max magnet diameter of this box design is 6.75". Will it fit? And do any of the build options change the magnet size? (cooling option. pchamfer, etc.) 2) The specs on Fi's website recommend .2-.5 cuft after displacement with the high qts option. The boxes I'm looking at are .8cuft. I see people on the forum talking a…

Hi ive been running my 15" Q in a 2.2 cubed box for over a year now with a SAZ-1000d mono amp, and its been awesome! now making the boxes isnt a problem as i designed and built my last one! but im looking for something different and maybe a bit louder without changing much and spending alot! so i thought ill port it! i looked at the cut sheet in this section for the 15 ported in here but its slightly too big at 3.8 cubes and was wondering if anyone could adjust it to maybe 3.2-3.4 cubes for me :/ being a complete noob with port sizes and stuff! max height is about 17 1/2" really! Thanks Pez! sorry for being a pain

Its almost time and Planning has started. I still need to find out if I can make a slot port work if not maybe two square or even aero ports. Suppose will have to do some maths and cross-checks. Draft box (not to scale) Let me know what you think.

Alright, im kind of tossing the idea around between two setups in the trunk of my Crown Vic. Setup one is (1) FI BTL N2 18" in 7 cubic feet net tuned to 32hz. Setup two is (2) FI BTL N2 15s in 8 cubic feet net tuned to 32hz. Here is my problem and question, the first setup with the single BTL will slide right in my trunk with no issues using the box design and cut sheet posted on this forum for it, but the second setup is the issue. Can I run the BTL 15s in a smaller box than 4 cubic feet net each and still get optimal performance? Id like to shrink the box and bump up the tuning to 34-35hz if thats possible. 3 to 3.5 cubic feet per sub would be a much easier fit for …

Hello all, I purchased a Q12 years ago and unfortunately for the life of me cannot remember if it is the dual 2 ohm or dual 1 ohm. There doesn't seem to be any markings on the sub or coils...how can I tell what I have? I could have sworn it was the dual 2, so I wired it in parallel to put a 1 ohm load on my amp. It sounds great, but the amp is going in protection mode when I turn it up. The amp is 1 ohm stable. So I pulled the sub out, wired it in series...which would put it at a 2 ohm load (if it was in fact a dual 1). No matter how much I turn it up, it stays on just fine. Problem fixed, right? Wrong. The sub sounds like crap now! As if the polarity is wrong or somethin…

  20. hey guys, I have a wedge box that goes behind my bench seat in my truck. its about 2.8ft3 before sub and port displacement. right now i have a 4in round port that is about 7-7.1in in length. so that puts me at about 35hz tunning wize. however i just upgraded my amp and bought a SSD. so i want to mkae sure for port is good. i will be re tunning to about 33hz so that will make my port longer. however should i upgrade to a 5in round? i dont know much about what would make a good port. i thought as long as it was tuned to the right hz it didnt matter. please offer any advise. i cant wait for the SSD to get in!

I want something that that plays lower with more depth then the BL's. I love low lows with presence. IB is not a option in my current place. What is my options and what options should I select? is there something else I should specify? Sealed ported whatever I can build the box and consider my self a bass-head intermediate but this whole HT thing has me baffled. I know Scott has his finger in other sub companies as well, which makes me think why Fi and not any of the other companies he has a part in? I ne…
