ok here is my question can i run 2 amps (mtx tc4001) on a Fi q 12? the amps are rms 600x1 at 2 ohms. i know that the FI's are dual 2 ohm. right now i dont have the cash to buy the amp i want(sundown). the other mtx amp should be here soon but until then can i only run one VC? is that safe? any answers would be nice? my friend has one of the FI Q 12 in his 06 Z71 and man it sounds great... i want that sound

I have a 12'' Q dual 2 ohm and it will be wired down to one ohm. I have a hifonics bxi1208d powering it. I wanna make sure i get my settings right on my amp. Where should i set the SSF at and the low pass at? Also since my HU has 4 volt output, should i set my level to 4 volt? As for the box, what hz should i have it tuned to. I listen to mainly rap and deathmetal...yeah i know complete opposites haha any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

I plan on purchasing 2 10' SSD with the copper coil and i was wondering if yall had any suggestions on an amp. I was looking at A planet audio RXD-1400 that puts out about 1400 rms and 1900 peak but i wasnt sure. Any help would be great thanks.

Hi there, I am not sure exactly what I need to have all my settings set at to run my bl 15" and need a little help.. The box is 4 cubes and tuned to 33hz, more importantly the amp is a hifonics brutus BXI-1210D, I need help tuning this for the bl! The amp has "level" or "gain" 9v-0.2v, "Phase"0-180, "bass eq" 0-10db, "subsonic" 15-35Hz, and the "lowpass" 35-250Hz. I need to know where to put the Phase, and Lowpass the most but if someone knows exactly how to tune everything feel free to tell me!! Thank you!

Hey everyone, So i recently sold my 2 audiobahn 12'' sub woofers, and my amplifier. I have the money now to buy my 15''BTL fully loaded. I had a few questions that i am still not sure about. 1.What should my "ohms" be if im using a mono amplifier. 2.If my box is tuned to 3.25feet at 30HZ is that too little feet, and too low HZ? 3. Does anyone know a good mono amp to go with 1 fi BTL 15inch 4. Also is a BTL legit 2000RMS? i really aprciate all help, thanks everyone.

I just recieved my Q12 D2 and am now shopping for an amp. I'm looking at the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-1bd. This amp sends 1000w X 1 @ 1ohm or 250w X 1 @ 4ohms. I can run my Q12 in series and have a 4 ohm or parallel and have a 1 ohm. If I run this parallel, one of two things will happen, I don't know which, my understanding of electronics is limited, obviously. Either each voice coil will see 1000 watts, meaning 2000w are being run through the sub or each voice coil will see 500w, meaning 1000w are being run through the sub. If I run it in series, will each voice coil see 250w, meaning the sub sees 500w or will each voice coil see 125w, meaning the sub will s…

As of right now, I have 2 800 watt sony amps. Its about 350 RMS at 2 ohms, and is unstable at 1 ohm. My link I have a BL 15, and I'm wondering if this severe underpowering of the sub is dangerous. I don't have the money right now to upgrade on an amp. Also, is it possible to use both the 800 watt amps to power the one 15?

I have an old kicker 1200.1 amplifier but I'm not sure what Ohm stability it has and I'm wanting to buy an Fi BL 18" dual 1 ohm. My question is what could happen if I wired the dual 1 ohm woofer up to my amp and my amp isnt 1 ohm stable? And how can I find out if my amp is?

So I just ordered an Fi Q 12" a few days ago. I only got the cooling option, didn't think the others would really be necessary. I also ordered an Audioque AQ1200D to push it. Only thing I still haven't made up my mind about is the enclosure. I do have limited trunk space, the recommended Q 12" ported box in the cut sheets thread will fit my trunk exactly with no room to spare. Sealed would be fine, but I really want to go ported. The car is an 09 GTI. Music would mostly be drum n bass, dubstep, other electronic music, basically a mix of lows and highs. I could either go sealed or a smaller ported box. I just want the clarity and crispiness along with being able to be hear…

Ok, I give up. I need some more direction in building a ported enclosure for my Q10. Right now, it has about .5ft^3 in a sealed enclosure and I really love the way it sounds, I would just like it a little louder (or alot haha.) But anyway, this is in an extended cab S10. I have to admit, its alittle underpowered with my Sundown sae-1000d because it wired at 2ohms. So it gets about 600rms. Any ideas? I would like to use tube for my ports if possible, not really a fan of slot ports, but i'm open to anything. Thanks, Mike B.

ill be ordering the 12" ssd's soon and temporarily they will be going in a prefab (i hate prefab) dual twelve box with the port in the middle. 2cuft per woofer. when i put my other woofers in there they were loud as f**k but when i played a song like bass mechanik moonstone that has a 20hz bassline they bottomed out and almost broke the voice coil. heres my dilemma i have been seing a lot of people use the boxes that are similar to the box i have exept the port isnt in the middle of the woofers its on the side.ex: http://subwoofertools.com/forum/ported-box...mp;Fs=&CE=0 all of the vids ive seen they either burp the woofers or they play some crap from jeezy, never any…

I've gone through almost 20 pages of this forum and still not sure exactly how I should build a box. I've got a general idea, done some research, but I'm hearing/reading different things. I plan on purchasing a fully loaded 18" BTL very soon, but want to get the box out of the way first. My max dimensions I'm working with are, 39" Wide, 20" height, and 24" depth. I want it to be sub up, port back. This is going in the rear of a Nissan Pathfinder. I'm also wanting to get it tuned to around 32-33hz, that's where I'm having trouble. After sub displacement, and a port tuned to that frequency, how much cubic feet would the box be if it was built to those max specs? Just from a…

So my 1st sp4, caught on fire in my trunk, i was told it was user error (even tho i believe it wasnt) - as i own a Tripple stack btl, hdc 4, Mtx 9500, DD 9500, hdc 3 10s, xfl 12s, and none of them have caught on fire.. but now this Sp4, the damn lead came loose from the coil i guess? i took a pic of it. Im sure this will be ruled as user error (even though i more then likely will not agree with it) however, you guys are the experts so i was wondering if you could let me know what may have caused this.. Everything was perfect, 1 coil just stopped working..

  20. Hey guys, After putting my 15" BL together in a 3.5cuft box, which sounds awesome, now I just have to fix my amp problems. Anyways, I have to build a box for a friend for her 15" Q. I suggested sealed since she wants to do more stuff in the trunk and I didn't want to take up the whole trunk like my box! We both have Scion tC. I was thinking a box for the 15" Q sealed with the exterior dimension of 12" high x 32" wide x 16" deep, with 3/4" wood. That will give an interior volume of 2.69cuft w/o sub displacement, so with the sub it is 2.5cuft. The sub will be powered by a Kicker sx1250.1 amp, that amp supposedly gives out 1250 watts at 1 ohm. So with that given se…

  23. hey all i just ordered my first fi btl 18 . i choose all the options that were availible for it so i guess it is fully loaded right? anyways my real question is how THE heck am im going to fit two in my civic ? i know most might say i prob shoulda thought of that first but i will find a way to make them fit . my best idea yet was to actually take out back seats and extend the trunk into the car so when you look into he trunk it looks like its reall deep. than build THE box into the trunk extension . basicly you would open the trunk and the woofers would sit right were the back of the seat was originaly and the box would be ported on the inside behind driver and passenger…
