Ok I'm picking between the lanzer opti 2000 or 1400. Based on the specs at a 1ohm load with the 2000 I would be getting around 1600 watts "give or take" running to the sub right? With the 1400 the max is about 1300 but I would expect like 1000 or a little around 1000 like 900 something at 1ohm. Which one would u guys pick between the 2? Just for reminder I have the Fi Q 15 with bp option Man reason I'm asking is I don't wanna over power my sub.

Would 1 10" bl with cooling and flatwind coil in a 1.4 cuft box tuned to 32hz be louder than 2 10" ssds in a 1.8 cuft Tuned to 33hz? Also what would be the ideal port area for the ssds if I put them in a box with two ports? Thanks

hi all. i have a bl 12 at dual 2 hooked up to a kicker 1500zx mono amp. its all hooked up correctly yet when i turn my car on the amp goes straight to protection. any thoughts on why it might be doing this? the only two problems i can think of is that my inline is a few volts low of the requierments, or the fact that i have 4 gauge wire and might need 0 gauge? the volts from the battery are only short by about .5 volts. any input or advice would be well appreciated!!!

I kind of started a post in the wrong area for BTL box questions. But I am looking at getting a 15" BTL sometime soon. I do have somewhat limited trunk space though (40x40x20). I would like maybe a little of extra room in the trunk for putting somethings (ie bags, books, backpacks, skating equipment etc). Can it be done to get the same boom / sound quality with a smaller box? I know on my other post, somebody said it was possible to make a little smaller box with biger ports to even the difference out. But how far can you take it? Like (I know you couldnt but...) making a box that only acted as a brace for the sub and maybe have some sort of diminishing cone around the s…

I'm getting absolutly no sound out of my sub it was working fine for about 10 minutes earlier and than i unhooked it so I could set the gain correctly with a dmm and after I hooked it back up I got nothing from the sub The first time I hooked it up at had it at 1/4 gain up so I'm sure it was not clipping and I only played it on low volumes, I also didnt smell any burning So could could sub be blown? hi i wanna buld a new box for my bl15 i have my 15 bl in a 3.25 cuft box right now, my question is if i make a biger box lets say 5 cuft after port and sub displacement would it get louder thant what i got??? i wanna know if its realy worth it building a biger box.

Me and my friend are about to hook his car up with some Fi subs. We are unsure of what really seperates ported from sealed and how power makes a big difference. Right now we are lookin at 3 Q 10's sealed, 2 Q 12's ported, or a 12" BTL ported. Q's will get 1k watts each, the BTL 3k to 4k watts. We listen to everything from heavy metal to rap. What we are lookin for is a rough idea of how each of these setups will differ in every aspect. I know it sounds like a lot and we are grateful for it. He says he may wanna compete in something with it later, so that is something we need to keep in mind. Any help or suggestions would be great.

I want to build a console box in my single cab truck and im trying to see which would be the best. Setup 1: 2 Fi X 12 D4's ported Setup 2: 3 Fi X 12 D4's sealed Setup 3: 2 Re SE 10 D4's ported or sealed Setup 4: 2 Fi SSD 10 D1's ported or sealed Only reason im considering Setup 3 because I can save about 80 dollars on the subs over Setup 4. And im trying to be louder than a buddy of mine with one RE SX/BL 12 Hybrid ported as a console box.

If I have a traditional trunk (large 300c trunk) and I fire the sub towards the back but fire the port up on the passenger side of the car, does the direction of the port make any difference, up, back side? I assume it would a little if there was resistance from say a seatback or side trim but up into the rear window or towards the empty trunk in the back, will there be much of a difference in the cabin as far as sound etc... Just got my 15 BL today ($105 extra for DELIVERY WTF?!) and can't wait to get it in... I am going to tune it to 33 or 34 hz PS: How reliable is the ported box calculator at reaudio?

hey guys i just ordered my FI BTL and since i know they are swamped with orders im in no hurry to build a box. i would rather take my time and do it rite. i just need some suggestions on how big to make it and maybe a design. measurements for my vehicle are 44.5x17.25x33 and its going in a 2006 king ranch expedition. its an 18'' btl and i would like to tune the box to 32 htz oh and i have a hifonics bxi2610d and am ordering a DC power HO alt i have 2 yellowtops with lots and lots of 0guage if i left any info out let me know, still kinda new to the forum

I was looking at the video on the Technical forum and it said everything is explained on the Technical forum in great detail, but I didn't see anything except that video and I didn't want to skim through and try to find where they mention High Qts. Basically, I have a truck and I can fit 6" mounting depth subwoofers in my sealed box. The Fi SSD 10 already requires the low space of .2-.6 cubes so what exactly does the High Qts option do?

I took my woofer to my install bay today and they were shocked I wanted to tune to 33hz. They felt that was way too low. Now, I listen to all types of music, pop, #1 hits, old school rock etc... but mostly Sirius hio channels and some Ipod songs (JayZ etc...) I just want to be sure this box is tuned to where I need it to be. He wants to build it to 4 cubic ft and tune it to 38 - 40hz but I see almost everyone on here tuned lower. Thoughts?

I am a noob set on getting 2 15" BTLs but I don't know if i should run them at 2 ohms or 1 ohm. The problem is that there are not many amps that support 2000 watts unless at 1 ohm. If there are any suggestions for an amp with adjustable subsonic filter, that can run @ 32hz+, for 2 15" 2000 watt rms subs, PLEASe let me know. Thanks

hi im a proud Fi owner and was planning on upgrading some time in the near future.. i have a BL right now and would like to upgrade to a BTL... i had a custom enclosure made just for my BL made to all Fi's specs... i was wondering would it be possible to reuse this box for a BTL?

Is it that hard? How long would it usually take?

I am running a fullyloaded bl15 off a planet audio bb2400 making about 1600rms. Electrical- big three, 1/0 throughout, second battery in rear, voltage stays around 14.3, drops to 13.6 for tones. My first enclosure was 5ft^3 tuned 36, 60 sq" port, with bracing, angle boards and routered port edges. Sub faces drivers seat while port fires up behind passenger seat. I hit a 143.8 meca style. Built a new box 3.5 ft^3 tuned 45 with all the bracing, angle boards and routered port edges and dropped to 141.7. I wanted to find out what box changes I may make to increase score, and if I was crazy trying to reach a 150 with a bl?

okay, so i've got a fi btl 12 fully loaded. but i dont know which amp to put on it, i want to use it for daily driving but also be able to put up some numbers in the spl comps please help me out thanks

I have a BL 10" with DVC 2 ohm coils, I am wondering how hard it is to install the recone kit FI sells to recone it to DVC 1 ohm coils. I am asking because I am now considering ordering another BL 10", but I would need a DVC 1 ohm to get my amp down to 1 ohm . I know there are some out there that have ordered the kits from Fi, so guys, how hard was it for YOU to recone your sub with the kit??

what is a good rule of thumb for box bracing?

Hello, today was one of the worst days ever, and what happened I thought never would, but it. So I'm here today to ask for advice. I was mounting the sub (15 fI Bl) and my hand slipped and ripped the outer foam ring around the sub. It's closer outside towards the steel ring where the holes are, and you can't see it unless you fold the ring. I managed to stop and retract and not run the whole screw drover through, but it did rip. Upon inspecting it closely I lost no material, it's just a 1/8 inch long tear. My question is this fixable? just finished reconing my 18" BTL a few days ago.. been breaking it in at low volume.. after i thought it was broken in, i turned it up slowly and as i started getting to about 1/4-3/8s level of where i would normally play at my sub makes some what of a clicking noise to the sound of the bass, kinda sounds like plastic on plastic nocking/rattling.. any ideas from any one here as to what it could be ? havent pulled the sub out of the box yet to check anything, dont want to if i dont have to..

Hey everyone, So i recently sold my 2 audiobahn 12'' sub woofers, and my amplifier. I have the money now to buy my 15''BTL fully loaded. I had a few questions that i am still not sure about. 1.What should my "ohms" be if im using a mono amplifier. 2.If my box is tuned to 3.25feet at 30HZ is that too little feet, and too low HZ? 3. Does anyone know a good mono amp to go with 1 fi BTL 15inch 4. Also is a BTL legit 2000RMS? i really aprciate all help, thanks everyone.

I'm sure it's probably not a big deal but my my dad had accidentally barley scratched the surface of the surround of my sub and decided to put a bead of epoxy to cover it and I was kinda upset .. And also while removing my sub from the box my right hand had slipped and accidentally hit the dust cap .. Nothing was damaged because of the hard cap but will these effect my sub and should I worry about it or is it not a relaly big deal?
