Hey guys. Got a question concerning how much power to give a BTL. My previous system was a loaded 12" BL @ 1ohm load, and pushed by a 1500D amplifier with gains at about 7/10 and 4V headunit @ 22/35. I figure it was about 1200RMS? Now, I see all these people with BTL's saying they push them with 3500RMS+. I just don't see how that's going to be possible.. I'm asking because I figured I could get away with running a 2500D amp for a single loaded 12" Fi BTL . Should I really be looking at more powerful amps?

I'm kind of limited in space but here are the maximum external dimensions 34"W 18"D 14.5"H Sub is Fi BTL dual Mag. One out of Shawn Fleming's van from 2007 Dytna SBNs if anyone is familiar w/what he had. I only know that tit is a dual mag and will definately play music. Amp Sundown 3K Not looking for SPL nor just the LOWZ Sub up port back (I will do both in center although woofer mounted to one side makes more since to me) but hey what do I know I can't even measure CF So I guess basically can anyone figure out how much Cf my box will be minimal bracing (just 3 2x2s) 2 13"L 1 32.5"L and dimensions on a port WxH=port but how deep to adjust the tuning? Would like …

Im running a single sundown 1500saz for now, but might get a second in the future. My vehicle is an ex. cab S10 that I can fit roughly 7-7.5 cube ported box in. Im wanting the most SPL out of my setup and I am comparing 2 15" SSD's against a single 18" BTL. I know my 1 amp wont push the BTL to its limits, but it should do very well with the SSD's. My question is will I get the loudest results running the Sundown at 0.5 ohm (18-1900 watts) with 2 15" SSD's or a single BTL 18?? thanks in advance! Cody

i just planned to put my 18 btl in a 6th order bandpass (60 hz / 30 hz tuning) and i already got the wood sawed too. ive never tried a bp yet so i thought it would be nice to give it a chance. what do you think? is it better to put the btl in a big ported box or go with the 6 th order. i currently have a 5 cft ported box @ 30 hz but i want to increase efficiency and loudness of the box. amp is a bxi 2610.

I have never had this problem untill I started using my FI sub... So hopfully someone can shed some light on the subject.. When hitting major bass notes on full tilt, the amp shuts off and shows CUR..Which is excessive current. What is this and how the hell do I fix it?

This is a box plan I made, and want some output on this. I was hoping someone could double check "my work" as you would call it, to see if everything seems okay. Image attached along with specs below: box image Specs: For a 15" fi ssd in a 1st gen mazda 6 trunk. .75 MDF Gross box volume 4.05 cu ft. Net volume: I suck at math, no clue. Hoping to be within 3-3.5 cu ft range? 4" aeroport tuned @ 33hz. ***optional setup (I am leaning towards this)*** 4.05 cu ft. gross with 6" aeroport tuned @ 35hz. Dimensions: 15" tall x 35" wide x 30" BD x 4" TD x 29.15" angled front panel length. As I said, honest opinions are GREATLY appreciated, as I want to nail this project. Thanks! -…

Reconing my 15's to 18's. Plan on using 6 spoke 18" baskets, linear roll spiders, not set on cones and possibly a coil with a slightly bigger WW. Any possible issues I might see? Suggestions comments?

After hearing a BTL for the first time yesterday i have decided that i want one, really bad. I will only be pushing 2000 watts to each sub in a daily setup (no comps). Is there any point in getting the high XMax coil, does this loosen up the suspension for better SQ. the BTL that I saw was only getting 1500 watts and didnt seem to flex much so im not sure if the high xmax coil would really do anything. Thanks, Keith

Title says it all. I can build a enclosure with about 11 cu ft (internal volume, displacement of the subs has been removed). I read on a forum a while ago that you get the best SQ if you go with a big vented enclosure. I want to hit the lows but not to loose the highs completely. I listen to almost everything that's called music. That means from Queen to ATB to Bob Marley. My goal is SQ. The car is a Toyota Celica GT, this one: I will be using a Hifonics BXi 2610D amplifier pushing 2600W rms on to two Fi Q 18" subs. The optimal vented enclosure as I have read is from 6-10 cu ft for one, meaning 12-20 cu.ft. for two subs. Or 4-8 cu.ft. for a sealed enclosure, 8-16 cu.f…

I own a 2003 Mustang GT, and am trying to get the best system I can in it. I have VERY limited trunk space and so chose a single fully loaded 12" BTL powered by a Kicker ZX2500.1 (2500 watts RMS into one channel @ 2 ohms). I also have a kinetic 2500 in the trunk. The trunk opening is too small to get any sized box thru so I'll be installing it thru the back seat. The opening is 13" high by 32" wide, and 28" deep. I'm looking for a ported box to get the most bang out of the sub. Anyone got the best design for the BTL with the max dimensions (13x32x28)? Thanks.

which one would sound louder (spl) because i like the idea of having an 18 but i only have room for about 5 cubes so after diplacement and all that it would be in the 4cu/ft range like i know it would have more cone area but in a box too small for it btl would have the cooling and himax coil options

alright so ive had my 12" bl and sundown saz 1500d in a 2 cuft box wired at 1 ohm for about a week now and its not as loud as i expected. its a great sub dont get me wrong but it really doesnt get loud unless i turn on my loudness control on my headunit to atleast low and turn my eq settings on super bass... but i thought i read somewhere that you should not do either of these things... i was checking out my box that i had custom built and the port area was only 3.5" x 4"... isnt this a little small? i thought the port area should be from 32-24 square inches since the box is 2 cuft. would this make my setup louder?

I am getting the 15" Q w/bp power but my amp is a profile ap2000 and only puts out 960 rms bridged at 4 ohms. How can I hook up another amp so that I have about 1500 rms going to the sub and also some new 6x8's that I will be putting in?

Might be a dumb question but whatever I'm very new in box design and I did search but it wasn't easy describing this in a search. I have a box now THE's set up for 1 12" FI BTL tuned to 32hz mounted in my tunk facing the rear of my trunk. Box cu ft now with 1 sub counting displacment and vent is 3.75. I was thinking of installing a second one on the oppisite side of the box firing inside the cabin.... My question is: Will the sub work correctly and sound good this way? With a second sub including displacemnt the cu ft. would by 3.57 so according to specs thats slightly above the low end size for 2 FI BTL's correct? Any suggestions I would appreciate that help thanks gu…
