I have a silverado extended cab and was wondering how you guys think this would sound with 2 ssd 10" powered by 900 watts rms @ 2 ohms http://subthump.com/Chevrolet-GMC-Sub-Boxes/Silverado-Sierra-Extended-Cab/99-06-GM-Extended-Cab-Dual-10-Downfire-With-Amp-Space.html The volume is more than what is recommended for the subs, would that be bad?

I've decided on the 2 12" ssd's. Really excited for it! NOW..... the box Ive always wanted to try an aeroport so i can adjust tuning and uses less space. But heres the catch. I dont know what to do lol. The box dimensions im looking at are: Height: 15.5" Width: 31" Depth: 16" According to RE calculator (which i know is off a bit) is about 3.5 cubes with no port. With those dimensions above or similiar, what aeroport do i get!? where do i put it on the box? I want it to be tuned to 32-33 hz thnx guys !!!

Hey all. I'm going to build a sealed box for my 10" Fi Q woofer. It says the mounting depth is 6.5" for that driver. How much clearance should I have behind that woofer in the box to ensure adequate ventilation? I want my box to be as shallow as possible to save on some trunk space. Thank you.

Hi, I'm for sure a newbie, especially when making boxes, I just ordered my first Fi product ever, the 18" SSD, and i'm super excited. Probably to excited to be honest but I have a question about my box. I used RE's box calculator and tried to make it fit perfectly in my vehicle, I wanted the box tuned to 30 hz and I did all that. The thing that I'm worried about is if my sub is going to move to easily and I'll end up damaging my woofer D: The box size is 5.6 cubic feet and tuned to ~30.7Hz. The port is 3" wide and 22.5" tall, and its a slot port. The port area is 67.5 square inches I can give all exact dimensions if needed. Thanks in advance!

Ok so Fi recommends 2-2.6 cf for a sealed 15 Q. The Khaotik sealed 15 box comes in at 2.769 cf. So will I be ok to run a slightly bigger box or will I run into any problems. Cus that really doesn't seem like that much of a difference to me but just wanted to check. Thanks.

  9. Hi guys, got a Q15" with flat wind coil and extra spider. Now need to built a box for the same. Can only make a ported box with internal volume as maximum of 3.7 cufeet.. It will be a rectangula ported box with no bracing inside.. using 3/4" MDF Box external dim - 11.25 X 36.5 X 19" - internal volume come to be 3.7 cu feet. i still have too account sub volume displacement, port displacement and is there something left to account in? now come my queries - What is the mounting depth of Fi Q 15" ? What is the cut hole Dia for 15" Q ? How much diameter using round port will be needed - minimum and maximum ? How much more power handling the sub gets with flat wind coil …

I recently had a s10 ext cab with a 15 inch bl in it which im now selling because I traded it in on a silverado ss....oddly enough bigger truck does not mean more sub room sadly so it won't fit. Ive looked around alot and can't seem to find a case where someone used 2 12s in a ported box under the rear seat of the silverado and im not a fan of sealed boxes but it looks like thats my only option unless smoene could suggest something else. Was thinking 2 12 q's or ssds running off my memphis pr1000.1 amp and im not sure if i want them forward facing or downward facing, Im sure i could get a little more airspace if they were forward facing but does it really matter which way…

So since my order still hasn't shipped after 10 business days, I might as well make sure my box dimensions are correct. Going with a 3.5 cube ft box tuned ~32 Hz Port is 17" by 3" and 37 inches long Anyone see anything wrong with this? Thanks.

Hey guys, I was running down some information to do a build for a buddy this weekend. He's looking to do a modest setup with 4-500 watts of power to the sub stage and would like to go with a pair of 10's. I showed him the 10" X's which he was very interested in after listening to my Q's he's quite impressed with Fi. One thing I noticed both here on the forum and on the website is that there's no Tech specs for that line. It's easy enough to post up here or send an email asking about the optimum tuning, enclosure size, etc. which we'd like to know, but I figured I'd just go ahead and ask when you might be expecting to have something up on that information? Also, I thi…

  15. Hi all, one of my friend just bought a new 18"ssd with Flat wind and Bp power. he wanted to achieve maximum spl with minimum power so a bigger sub was chosen. Now, he has a blaupunkt vpa1500pro amplifier which puts out 950 Rms @ 2ohms and 1500@ 1 ohms. As the sub is dual 1ohms, he will be wiring it at 2ohms for a clean 950rms output. Now the problem starts, the car boot is limited to 4.5cufeet of space at maximum, the idea was to go for a ported box but as recommended by FI on this forum first few topics, atleast 6cufeet is needed for a SSD . And that's true due to its lesser powerful motor compared to Btl's or SMD's which can be used in 4.5 cufeet ported boxes. Roun…

Before my son was born, I was running 18's and I really miss the output of that setup. So I am thinking of sending in my 12's to get re-coned as 18's, or if its not to hard, just doing the re-cone myself. Yes, I am tempted to off load the two 12"s and just get a 18' xcon or BTL, but with hardly any more power, and 1/2 the cone area, this setup should be louder theoretically. Secondly, I am not a box designer at all and I am completely lost as to what works and doesn't. This is a daily setup. I don't compete. Using RE's Calculator just as a ref, it looks like the max volume I am able to get is around 13.5 cubes before displacement. That is leaving a bit of space between…

Can someone give me the screw hole diameter of the 15" Fi BL? I saw the outer diameter was 15.625" but did not see a screw hole diameter. I am working with limited height and don't want the screws to be lined up on one of the boxes wall. Hoping I can save around a 0.5" inch on the height just having the outer surround overlay on the outer 3/4" edge of the box. Thank you for any help! I would measure it myself but I am ordering the woofer in the next few days and want to start the build now.

I have a 15" FI SSD, i built a 2.4 cubic foot sealed box (before sub discplacement). Feeding it 870w rms, it gets decent loud, but everyone i show it too thinks it should be louder. One of my friends jl 10w3v3 in a ported box sounds just as loud, if not louder... Anyways, im fine with the output, but it has a really weird sound to it. Perhaps its rattling my back wall, but after listening to different types of songs i believe its something with the sub, but i lack the knowledge to know for sure. On say 3 6 mafia late night tip, its not so bad... if u listen closely u can still hear some off sounding sounds. On heavy metal, that i listen to daily, its a big problem. I cant…
