  2. I found this box on woofersetc.com the dimensions are: * 12" Single Ported Box * Height: 15" * Width: 30.5" * Depth: 15" * Mounting Depth: 11" * 3/4" MDF Construction * Volume: 3.00 cu. ft. And I wanted to know if this would be a good box for the fully loaded 12" BTL sub? Thanks for any responses.

I was looking at the Kicker ZX 1500 amp, using all Monster cables to power it. however, before i spend my money on this amp, i want to be sure that it will be the right amp? is there any other amp that could be better for me to get around the same price as the kicker amp? i rlly want my sub to pound, but sound good at the same time. thanks alot to anyone who helps me out

Hi all, I just recently switched my Q10 from being sealed in an ext. cab S10 to .9cuft port enclosure in an '88 BMW 325ix. I took a ton of time designing the box for the bimmer because I was looking for more output down low so I shot for 27hz using 4in PVC. I got it all built up and installed and I'm slightly disappointed with it so far. Things just don't seem loud enough. I figured going ported AND in a larger cab compared to the S10 I would get more output but I'm getting significantly less. I must add, the enclosure is sealed up to the rear firewall firing into the cabin of the car through the ski pass hole so I have zero trunk rattle. I don't know how this would affec…

I'm going back & forth between using 2 15" IB3's & 1 18" IB3, but am a little concerned about their output between 50-80hz. I'm going to use 8" pro audio midbass in my doors, but from what I've read they shouldn't be crossed lower than 80hz. Does anyone have any input they can give me on the IB3 line playing these higher frequencies?

Also my box is 4.00ft.^3, port area 56.00in.^2, and tuned at 30hz

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the car audio world, being that I'm only 16. But I have worked all summer and have finally saved up enough for my first system. I want to get a 12" Q and I want to build my own box but I want to get it all planned out before I start ordering everything. I have designed up a ported box that is 25"x20.25"x14.625" and is tuned to 32 Hz and has a net internal volume of 2.2 cubic feet. My question is how much bracing do I need to use and I know that it will reduce the volume, but what will that do to the frequency of the box?

I'm looking into getting an Fi Q 15" subwoofer. I want a great SQ sub so I figured this was the way to go, but now I have a dilemma. I'm not sure if I should get the high QTS or not, I know I'm probably going to put it in a sealed enclosure, but I'm worried, if that isn't right for me. If I change my mind in the future and decide to go ported, is the high qts going to be a problem? Thanks.

Robin (iamamp3pimp) was in the process of building me a 2.8^3 @ 35Hz box for my AA Chaos 15D2 when I had to sell the sub due to financial issues. My question is would a Fi BL15D2 run off my AP15001D work in this enclosure? Sub would have cooling, flatwind, and daily options. Looking to get decent lows and numbers out of this box, though sound is more important than numbers to me. Had the CHaos 15 in a similar box before with good results, just bumped up tuning on this new box from 30 to 35Hz trying to get a little better score than the 143.7 at 40Hz I got with the first box. Here is a pic of the first box, new box will be designed the same but built out of raw birch. Th…

So i just got my dual 2 ohm 15 inch BTL fully loaded and I am going to run a 2100 hifonics amp to power it. So today i go to my local car audio shop so they can install it for me and they said that they can only wire it down to 3 ohm or .75 ohm because the voice coils are 1.4 ohm each...However, everyone else on this forum says they are running their 2 ohm Fi sub down to 1 ohm. I am a complete car audio noob so if someone could please tell me if this is true or not i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

ok i plan on running 2 SSD 12's off a AQ1200D @ 1 ohm. the box it gonna be roughly 4.4 cubes depending on how much the aeros take up for space. what would you guys suggest for aero size? i know i would need less port area for aeros then say a slot port but im not sure how much less i can use. i was thinking 1 6" aero which would give me 28 sq inches of port area (6.27 per cube) or i was thinking of going with 3 4" aeros which would give me 37 sq inches of port area (8.69 per cube) now i know thats less then the recommended port area for slot ports but i was wondering if either of those would be acceptable for aero ports.

  23. I finally picked up the pre cut pieces of the box I designed using the RE enclosure calculator, but I would like to verify which port length will be ideal for tuning the 2.0 Cubic ft. box between 30-33 HZ? I know the RE calculator is not really accurate so, here's my box measurements: Width = 23" Depth = 15" Height = 15" Volume = 2.0 Cubic ft. Port width = 1.5" Here's the pic of the box. The length of the port inside the L shape port is what I would like to verify. Now, should I go with 12" or 5" port length? The default RE calculator gave me a tuning freq of 33 HZ using 5" port lenth but it is not accurate. I'll be building the box sometime this weekend so before I put…
