I finally picked up the pre cut pieces of the box I designed using the RE enclosure calculator, but I would like to verify which port length will be ideal for tuning the 2.0 Cubic ft. box between 30-33 HZ? I know the RE calculator is not really accurate so, here's my box measurements: Width = 23" Depth = 15" Height = 15" Volume = 2.0 Cubic ft. Port width = 1.5" Here's the pic of the box. The length of the port inside the L shape port is what I would like to verify. Now, should I go with 12" or 5" port length? The default RE calculator gave me a tuning freq of 33 HZ using 5" port lenth but it is not accurate. I'll be building the box sometime this weekend so before I put…

I want to build a sub for home theater, using 2 Q15s in one sealed cabinet. What modifications can Fi make to optimize the Q15s for home use? I'll need a complete listing (including Le inductance) of the modified T/S specs for my modelling. Ideally, I would want the drivers to be optimized for a sealed cabinet volume between 4 and 7 cubic feet. Thanks.

So I have a problem I am getting ready to make a ported box for my BTL 12 that is fully loaded. my big question is how do I tune my port to 32hz? the dimensions are 18w x 14h x 20d which comes out to be 2.20812 cubic feet. can I please get some help and advice I used a slot port calc but I guess the port length looked funny to me. Subwoofer Enclosure Calculators, Fraction to Decimal, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume Calculators Thank you

Like the title says...I'm a noob, I just like alot of bass. so i just ordered a fully loaded BTL and was wondering if someone could help me get some dimensions for a box. The box can be about 35 long and 20 wide and however tall. I obviously want it to be ported. Also, I was checking out the RE calculator..Is that accurate at all? If someone has some box dimensions for a box they built themselves for their BTL I would love to see them. Thank you

ok, I'm about to attempt to build my first enclosure for Fi Q 12. 1.9ft ^3 tuned 30hz. Where can I get demensions and what items do I need. Such as brands of glue, type of screws, etc. If I Take mesurements to Home Depo, Will they cut the pieces for me? Is it difficult to make a Enclosure, I read that its pretty easy.

Hi, I have bought 2 Fi BL's and I am in need of some advice for a good box for it. It will be going into a 2010 Dodge Charger and the space I am working with is 18" H, 32"W, and 32"L. I would like to tune the box to around 33 HZ. I will also be hooking this up to a Hifonics 2000 for right now...hope to move to the sae 1200d later on. Any comments on dimensions for a box and port would be greatly appreciated. Also an idea of where to point the subs and port to get a decent bout loud sound. Thanks!

I am getting 2 12" Fi X in a trade and want to know the t/s specs there are none on the website. All I know about them is they are 300w rms and D4. I thought to myself they were perfect for HT. Wire them series parallel and final load of 4 ohms, BASH500 does 500w @ 4 ohms. So, I just need to know some specs so I can figure out what kinda box to put them in. I want to put them in a tline since space isn't really an issue Thank you for your help.

Hello again, Now it`s the time for some SQ after some flexxin` (ex: and hihi ).After 6 months of BoomBoom and re-listening to some local SQ cars(some brax users, scanspeaks, focal, microprecision etc) I bought from a friend (who upgraded to microprecision) a set of Focal 165 K2P woofers and HybridAudio L1 Pro tweeters and an Alpine 9835. Now I`m sounddeadning my car, especialy my front doors with 1layer of SS Damplifier Pro+Spectrum Sludge+Damplifier+OverKill pro. Amps: HAT L1pro: Zapco Z50S2; Focals: Premier; Fi Q15: US Amps XT4000(1500W@1ohm load). What enclosure should I build for an SQ setup....a 2cuft or...2.5-2.6 cuft? The subwoofer is behind the front stag…

My SSD15 is coming this Friday hooray! So, I'm starting to plan out my install and i was wondering which way i should face the box. I have an '09 Jeep Liberty (the newer longer boxier model). I'm not able to build a custom box or get a good one made at the moment, so i bought a box that should be within the reccomended size and tuning ranges. Things to consider: Box has port and sub on the same face. Sky slider roof - its like the ultimate sun roof without the whole roof coming off. It slides from the front to the back and bunches up accordian style, so if box is facing up it won't be facing a solid exactly. Box can fit any direction in trunk. Just lookin for some inpu…

Hi guys ! I was wondeering if can all help me out.. I purshased 2 12' Fibtl Fully loaded and after all I descided to try on with 1 first . I hoocked it up to a Hifonics Colossus XXV and wired it a 1ohm ...after like 5 minutes of playing time...the sub was working on and off. To me it looks like when it gets warmed up the sub completly stops working...but if I leave it cool off..it will work for a minimal amount of time. My amps never lost power and always stayed on. Do you guys think I blew the sub ??? or should I try to rewire the sub to a higher ohm ??? Thanks for all your inputs and help on getting my problem resolved !

Hi, i recently bought a recone kit for my Btl. It was a 12" and I am upgrading to an 18". I cut the surround and spider to remove the cone. Now, i see the screws holding the basket to the motor. Simple, right? Well i cant get the screws to break from the motor. They were soldered on to the metal. I broke the solder with a screwdriver, and now i'm left with six screws that WILL NOT budge. I really put some power behind one screwdriver and the screw started to strip on the top. Any ideas?

So about a year ago, I had bought the 12" Q, had a 1.8 cu ft box @32hz built, and recently just purchased the sundown audio sae-1200d v2. The Q sounds freakin amazing, but I was at a car show this weekend, and a guy with 2 12" alpine type R's ported had beaten my output, with the same wattage. I refuse to be beaten by alpine type R's... So I want more air movin through my car, and am loving what I am hearing / seeing about the BTL. I plan on getting a 15" (if she fits) dual 2, wire it to 1ohm, and temporarily keeping the amp I just bought for it. I do have electrical work to do, but that's a whole 'nother story. The max dimensions of a box in the back of my scion tC tha…

My old box designed by chris fishercustoms, for daily pounder. Its 49"w x 26"h x 32.25" d with port facin back 9"w x 23.75"h tuned to 33hz. Everybody that sees it says it is way to big and should only b around 14 to 16 cubes. But fi recommends 8 to 10 cubes each. Anyway it sounded good on everything, but I took it out and tried a 4th order bandpass which was good also. Now I want want my backseat back and thought bout tryin some aero's. Any suggestions on the new box, aero's or stay with slot? Thanks
