I recently bought a sp4 and i have it powered by a hifonics colossus, im getting a 350 amp alternator and just wondering if i need a bigger battery? Whats the point of a bigger battery cause once the car's started the alternator takes over for the electrical system right? The 350 amp alternator should be more than enough to give the amp all that it needs right?

  3. Whats the best kind of wood I can use to get the full preformace out of a 18'' FI.BTL with these specs? Dual 2 Ohm,Cooling,HiXm Coil,Induct heat ring,And Daily option. I plan on buying four!!! Also the recommended option is 2000 Rms but Steve Meade told me he gives his 5000 Rms each he has four also. ''audio-neon'' told me ''meade knows how to build enclosures to compensate for overpowering the woofers thats why he gives them that much power''. If thats true how will I make my enclosure inorder to do that if I plan on overpowering the subs. Is that a good thing if I have a enclosure do that or just stick with 2000 Rms each (or maybe 2600 rms if so). FI.BTL Specs (BTL18) …

I've been trying to decide for weeks what i wanted to do for an audio set up. Im pretty sure i have it figured out. Im thinking about ordering it all today or tomorow, so i could use some fast help. Im getting the sundown 1000d and 1 12'' FI sub, i would go fifteen but i don't think i could fit it. I'm stuck between the FI ssd, or fi bl. I listen to mainly rap, and heavy metal(alot of double kicks and what not) so its a daily sub. I like boomy deep bass, i don't care so much about higher notes but the better one could hit them the better. I was also wanting to ask about enclosure suggestions, im not too worried about loosing all my space in the back, but if possible i wan…

I was going to put 2-18'' Q's in a ford excursion until I heard ONE 15'' BTL fully loaded in a excursion powered by a hifonics BXi2006. The box was 3.5 cubes net @ 33hz. Let me say that it was loud!!! I want to run 2-18'' BTL's fully loaded on my new TE4001D amp!!! Would 2-15'' BTL's hang with 2-18's? Or will the 18's smoke the 15's like that? I really want the 18's and if I put each one in 5 cubes @32hz what will happen to my excursion?(Each sub will see about 1800 watts each.) If I use 5 cubes or 8 cubes per sub what would it do to the sound of the box? I want my X to fall apart from all the bass and I want it to be LOUD. What would the Fi Audio Guru's do...

  13. I have been searching all over the internet to find out about qts (never even heard of it before i was looking into Q's this isn't my first system, i just never accounted for it before. it looks to me like it is highly dependant on what you are doing fi q 15's have the cooling and spider upgrade options, that is it i am going for sound quality with this build, dual fi Q 15 in a sealed enclosure measuring ~ 2.3 ft^3 per sub (after displacement and bracing of course) each sub will have it's own rockford fosgate t-1500-1bd giving them ~1350watts @ 2 ohms (already had one and just bought a second off a friend, who said headroom was a bad thing) they will be in the back…

I have a fi q 12. I didnt choose the high qts option because i had planned for a ported box, but ported is wayy to big for my little trunk lol Would it matter if i put the sub, without the high qts, in a sealed box? If it matters, im going to put it in the smallest bOx possible. I dont plan on running the sub to the max, just some extra bass for daily driving. Also, i hate rattling, so you can bet i wont run it any where near max output.

  22. I want to make sure I'm not going to burn up my coil on my SSD. I bought my sub 4+ years ago (I don't remember exactly), copper coil option only. Back then they were rated at 800rms. I have it wired down to 1 ohm, so it should be receiving 1200 watts+ since I have read lots of times that Sundown amps usually do over rated power. I set my gains using an SMD DD-1. I know these are frowned upon by a lot of people as a waste of money, but I didn't buy it and just borrowed it from someone who did. It helps to set gains so there's no distortion, so I'm assuming nothing is clipping. That's just my assumption though. I set up my headunit, sub amp and mains amp all with the DD…

11 cubic for 2 Q 18's. i want to retain the 33hz volume as much as possible but i absolutely want to reach 75hz at a very good volume out of these. my idea was to go 11 cubic and put a bit of poly fill inside. it is not for certain that i will buy 2 Q's, i will know after i test my rebuild SP4 to see if i can get the volume i want out of it at the frequencies i want. im expecting i wont be able to. this would be the box design:
