I am thinking about getting an 18" BL for my 98 pontiac grand prix gt sedan. My car has a big trunk and I think it would be big enough for this sub and a good size ported box. I was wondering if anyone would have any advice as to whether this would fit fine and also amp recommendations? I would get the daily driver option as well. Im thinking around $400 for the sub and I could possibly build the box with my dad. Also what would be a good cap to go with it and would there be any other modifications I would have to make to my car's electrical system? I already have an alpine head unit.

With me not getting a email from fi im not sure who has my sub or after it made it what has happened to it. Ive been patient and all i wanna do is pay for them to fix my sub. Has anyone here gone through the same thing if so how long did you have to wait for feedback after you…

I was wondering what would be the best enclosure to make these subs get super loud, but not lose very much SQ? the max dimensions i can use are 58" (W) x 31" (H) x 38" (L), But that's max ( i don't plan on making a box that big unless that's what will be the best. Can you please give some dimensions or an estimate, and also what you think would be the best frequency to tune it to? thank you

Can someone answer this question for me; I see that they offer a lot of upgrades, but each one will affect the parameters and driver's behavior. It would be nice if they offered updated parameters and more information on each of these upgrades. Adding mass to the assembly, then adding spiders and changing spider packs, changing coil assemblies, and materials etc, does quite a bit to affect the driver's behavior, from altering moving mass and resonant frequency, causing QES changes, and inductance variances to causing shifts in the CMS curves... All these things really affect the driver's behavior as a whole, the way it will sound, and they even affect the enclosure design…

The tech page says the cooling option increases power handling by 200-500 watts depending on install and scenario. Would I be wrong in guessing a sealed enclosure (in the neighborhood of 1.2 cu ft) would put it towards the higher end of that increase estimate?

Would you recommend multiple ports are a large single port for 2 Q 18 D1s with cooling and the extra spider on an AudioQue AQ2200d, in 20 cubes after displacement tuned to 28 Hz? Car is a 2004 Tahoe with the max box dimension limits being about 27 H x 49.5 W x 36.5 D. I had a few designs floating around, I think one was with 4 8.5" round ports, one with two slots along the bottom of the box, and one was a rectangle in the center measuring 15.5 H x 19 W, so 294 in^2s area and was 22.35 in. long. The dimension limits leave about 7-9 inches between the box and the rear, 7 at the top and 9 at the bottom. I was thinking the large port might not have enough port speed, but …

I have been searching all over the internet to find out about qts (never even heard of it before i was looking into Q's this isn't my first system, i just never accounted for it before. it looks to me like it is highly dependant on what you are doing fi q 15's have the cooling and spider upgrade options, that is it i am going for sound quality with this build, dual fi Q 15 in a sealed enclosure measuring ~ 2.3 ft^3 per sub (after displacement and bracing of course) each sub will have it's own rockford fosgate t-1500-1bd giving them ~1350watts @ 2 ohms (already had one and just bought a second off a friend, who said headroom was a bad thing) they will be in the back…

To figure out the square inches of port area needed per cubic ft of volume, do I just multiply the vent width by vent length? And then I just take that number and divide it by how many cubic ft the box is? This is what I'm just guessing as I'm not sure of this. Please help.

Hey I ordered a SSD 15 with both BP Power and Flatwound coils that I am going to be pushing 1000 watts through with a Rockford Fosgate Prime 1000-1d amp at 2 ohms. I was wondering if the box I have planned out with the RE calculator would work with my setup. If not, some advice would be appreciated.

I want to get a a pair of Fi ssd 15's and i am building a custom sealed enclosure for them, fi suggests between 1.5 and 2.5 cu ft per woofer, does this mean that 2 feet would be the ideal? this is my first time designing my own encosure and i would like to have the optimum internal space. would a 2.5 ft^3 make them hit any deeper or will they sound better with 2ft^3 (these volumes are AFTER displacement of course) i am really going for a sq build here please do not try to talk me up to the Q,, i am sticking with ssd's with the bp power upgrade the standard coils that being said i would love to be able to hit the low note in "put on" with this setup i am not incredibly…

Hello all, First post here, so be kind to an old-schooler... Looking to do a bed box in my Chev 1500 step side. Max dimensions I've got are: Width = 48 Height = 18 Depth = variable I'd like to go with 2 BTL 12's, dual 1ohm. Both subs will be powered by a RF T2500. Wondering if one of you fine gentleman would point me in the right direction with: Net Vb for common chamber enclosure... 2.65 cu.ft. per sub? Optimum vent dimensions based on a 16.5" vent height? Hopefully I provided enough info... I certainly don't expect a full design, maybe just some guidance. Thanks guys, C

Hey guys I have a question about the Q series woofers: a 12 Q in a ported box or a 15 Q in a sealed box is what I am debating now given a 2.5 ft box for either one: 1.) which will be louder? 2.) which will play lower? 3.) which will have better SQ for rock?
