Im building an enclosure for 2 12 BLs with 2500w RMS and I want to put a window in the back, Im not sure what the best material to use is, Ive heard different things but it seems my two options are 3/4inch Plexiglass or 1/2inch Lexan... Which is better?

ok i curently own a hifonics 5000 watt... i have owned it 4 months... 1 month it sat in my spare bedroom. and for 3 months it has been at CIA engineering.. waiting to get fixed.. i got to play it for about 30 seconds before it popped...... so far i see this hifonics as being a very very unstable amp... im a daily driver bass head, should i keep the hifonics... or sell it and get TWO jl 1000/1's one for each sub i have 2 fully loaded fi bl's 3 yellow tops. all 0 gauge wire, 200 amp alt. nc2 deck and any advice would be helpfull thank you!

want to know what fi soft parts to beef up my aa12" havocs .will the motor support an spl optiion or would it be better daily, or in between. .......... FRANKIN HAVOCS ON THE WAY????????!!!P.S. CAN YOU GUYS HELP ME!!!!!!

I just did a re-cone for 2 BL 12's and it seems that the 2 re-cone 12's play harder and have alot more excursion now than the other 2 12's in my enclosure. Is this because they were re-coned or is there another problem? I had all the coils metered yesterday and the 2 re-coned subs coils read lower than the other 2. Would the lowere impedence make them play harder?

I just bought 2 10inch BLs and I have a 2600w hifonics amp, what size speaker wire should I run from my amp to the subs? ive been told 8, 10, or 12 AWG and im not sure which to go with... Thanks

My sub is less than a year old. Listening to it while driving on the highway one day at about 1/3 the volume and it just shut off. I thought it was the amp or a bad connection somewhere. How do I get this fixed? Is it covered under warranty? I have an Fi Q 12

hi all. i have a bl 12 at dual 2 hooked up to a kicker 1500zx mono amp. its all hooked up correctly yet when i turn my car on the amp goes straight to protection. any thoughts on why it might be doing this? the only two problems i can think of is that my inline is a few volts low of the requierments, or the fact that i have 4 gauge wire and might need 0 gauge? the volts from the battery are only short by about .5 volts. any input or advice would be well appreciated!!!

I am looking into buying the 15 or 18. I would like to say that I would rather get the 18, but that's not true. I want to get whatever will promote the best response with my trunk size. I have a 03 grand prix, and the height of the trunk is only 17 inches. The maximum dimensions the box width and length can be are 35 x 30. My main question is if the surround of the sub is only 1 1/2 to 2 inches away from the lid, will that decrease my response? With the 18 the dimensions would be 15 tall x 35 wide x 29 deep with the port firing into the cab tuned at 33hz. Will smaller actually give me the most bass? I'm not worried about SQ, just spl... hey all i was taking some measure ments on my brother car(03neon) and i got the demensions of 36wide, 30 deep but only 16.7-17 inches high due to a seat belt thing...im looking for about 3.7-4 cubes, i know that i got more then enough but im wondering about the hight, im guessing 15 inch woofer pluss 2 pieces(top and bottom) of .75 mdf =16.5 inchs..that leaves .5 inches...you think that its enough high, and how do top firing subs sound and is there a difference, if there isnt enough hight i guess ill try that...thanks

I just ordered a FI ssd 12 inch subwoofer, a Kicker zx750.1 amp, and 4 ga wire kit. I previously built a 4.0 cu ft box out of 3/4 mdf. I was wondering if the ssd would be alright in this box. Also how long would the port need to be if using 3" dia. pvc pipe so it is tuned to 33 hz? Thanks.

So I have been driving a single cab truck for close to 10 years now. I've always liked car audio and I went from a shitty 10", to a really nice Ascendant Audio Assassin set up, which was pushing the limits of what I could fit in a Ford Ranger. Got an F-150, but I didn't drive much at that point, so I kept my Assassin 8"s and hifonics amp. But I'm getting a Ford Focus hatchback now, and I have been wanting a Fi Q for years, so I want to do it right. I was originally thinking two 12"s, but that seems like it would be a nightmare to power (3000 watts RMS can't be cheap o.o). So I figured a single 15" would be a nice middle ground. 11 cubic for 2 Q 18's. i want to retain the 33hz volume as much as possible but i absolutely want to reach 75hz at a very good volume out of these. my idea was to go 11 cubic and put a bit of poly fill inside. it is not for certain that i will buy 2 Q's, i will know after i test my rebuild SP4 to see if i can get the volume i want out of it at the frequencies i want. im expecting i wont be able to. this would be the box design:

If I have a traditional trunk (large 300c trunk) and I fire the sub towards the back but fire the port up on the passenger side of the car, does the direction of the port make any difference, up, back side? I assume it would a little if there was resistance from say a seatback or side trim but up into the rear window or towards the empty trunk in the back, will there be much of a difference in the cabin as far as sound etc... Just got my 15 BL today ($105 extra for DELIVERY WTF?!) and can't wait to get it in... I am going to tune it to 33 or 34 hz PS: How reliable is the ported box calculator at reaudio?

I've read and read. Perhaps under the explaination of options, this could be added to the flatwinds description if it holds out to be true: Does Flatwind add power handling and excursion at the expense of sound quality?

so i've got up to 15 high x 32 wide x 20 deep to build an enclosure for my fi btl 12; it'd be going in the back of my jeep liberty. and im planning on using this sub daily on an alpine m2000 that i just got and the birth sheet says it'll put out 2274 watts, so i'll be playing it at its max. but i also want to start entering the local spl comps and i know the fi site says that 30-35 hz is where it should be and 32 is optimal, but i was wondering what would be the loudest hz for my application? thanks in advance

Hello all. I have just found out about Fi yesterday. Seems like a solid product. Everywhere I read everyone has positive things to say about them. I am in the market for new audio toys in my truck. Stumbled on this website and thought id ask some of you gurus about some suggestions. Some info for you. I have a 05' Single Cab Dodge Ram 1500. I have taken down some measurements of what the enclosure "could" be up to. I would like if possible a slight wedge box so I can still lean my passenger seat back a little. This is what I came up with. Length of box from side to side = 38" Height of box = 18" Bottom width = 11" Top width = 8" Ive done this calulation on Fosgates box …

So here the deal i just came up on two 12 inch D2 Fi Qs. What to do? i have a 3 cube net box i have that i made to fit under my seat in my truck. ported@35 Im just using the Q or Qs untill my SA-8 come in from sundown I have good electrical and will be run off a SAZ-1500d. The question is should i run 1 Q ported in my box at 1 OHM or seal my port and run both at .5 or 2 OHMS. Im looking for loudest. I know Qs arent for LOUD applications, but this system is temperary just to hold me over.

How much is one of those shipped to 68510? Also before you build it is it possible to have you guys put the biggest lead wires on there (like the ones you shipped me), because When I took mine apart to fix the wires it worked fine but the copper wire broke right next to the coil, and now I have no copper wire to solder the lead wires to. let me know if there is a way to fix this problem. Also would it be possible to send you the sub I have and get 2 10" Q's and a little bit more money in exchange? How do these dimensions look for my Fi Q12 d1 Box outside diameter after using 3/4" MDF: Box: 33.5 x 14.5 x 12 Port: 1.5 x 13 x 16.5 This should give me 2.53 ft3 (before taking away sub/port displacement) and be tuned to ~32 Hz. I have been using website like the12volt.com and a couple others. I tried the RE enclosure app, but I think it is a little off. Not too sure. I appreciate any help! If this box looks off, what would be better? Thanks.

Hey finally making some progress and decided to get the Q instead of BTL which will be here on the 3rd. Just wondering whats a good amp to power it at around 1000w-1500w at a 2ohm load. Also what are some good .5ohm stable amps out there and about how many watts would I be looking at running it at .5 instead of 2ohm Plan on going with around a 3cu ported box tuned at around 32hz to go in a 03 honda civic coupe. (If this information helps)
