My sub is less than a year old. Listening to it while driving on the highway one day at about 1/3 the volume and it just shut off. I thought it was the amp or a bad connection somewhere. How do I get this fixed? Is it covered under warranty? I have an Fi Q 12

Guys finally going to start building an enclosure for my Q 15. My plan is to do something like this: http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t203/wy...enclosure-1.jpg I am aiming for 3.5 cu. ft net after port displacement with port tuning of 30-33hz (does that makes much difference musically??). My question is: 1. What is the recommended port are for the Q15? I want to make the port as big as possible for more air to move out of the port. 2. Has anyone ever modelled the Q15 in WinISD as everytime I tried to key in the value either I will get some errors or different t/s value. I dont know whether my box will yield linear response. 3. Has anyone (expecially Scott or Nick) can …

Waiting till thursday to order teh new 12" Q but I want to get started on the box... I've got room for a 29.5x19x8.75 deep box... (this is going in the back of a 350z) This puts it at about 2.05 sq ft after the driver displacement. I was going to go sealed, but have changed to ported... I need to figure out the length of the ROUND port to use... I saw a post on the 350z forum where a guy used two 3" ports at about 32Hz "needed 34" total of 3" port to be tuned @32Hz" Can someone confirm, using your awesome math skills, that 34 inches total of 3" port is correct? I'll need to split the ports into two ports... I'm aiming for this look... FI Q12 in the Z... - MY350Z.COM For…

I've had a Fi Q 12" for several years now... I think I got it in 2008, maybe 2009, but it was before they changed some of the options available. At the time there weren't many options and I went with the most basic setup available. Basically, I've had to reduce my trunk space consumption by moving my audio gear (wife and I had a baby in September!). Last summer I managed to move my Kicker ZX200.2 amp which is powering my front speakers (Eclipse SC6500 6.5" components with passive crossovers) and attach it to an accessible metal panel in my trunk, and I actually completely removed my Fi Q 12" in a 1.25cuft (gross, not net) box, and my Kicker ZX750.1 amp that Kicker rated…

hello guys I have two Q15's in a dual chambered slot port box tuned to 27hz @ 8cuft. My question is will it be better to build another enclosure where the drivers share the same chamber? And should I double baffle it? Also, what about bracing? How do I go about doing it? I tuned low because I want the ground pounding bass that you get from the lows as I don't really play anything above 45hz. Thanks.

Well my mojos are starting to suck...blew a coil actually. And now its time to upgrade to BTLs I'm stuck between 2 15s or 2 18s Here is the scenario: The ports will be outside the box. I am going to use these ports... Deal Breaker for 15s: the only practical option is to use 1 of those ports for 8 cubes Fi recommends 12 - 16 square inches of port per cube 8cuft x 12 = 96 8cuft x 16 = 144 So about 96-144 sq inches recommended. that port is only 70 sq in. Would that be a problem? Deal Breaker for 18s: The only problem for the 18s (using 2 of these ports) is that the box would simply be too long to conventionally mount the ports outside the box... So to still be able to …

So I have a 10" Q I'll be running about 1000 rms to. What kind of box dimensions do you recommend. I bought a prefab box for $20 because I figured if it didn't work, oh well I'm out 20 bucks. Well, the Q is a little oversized for the box so I figured, well, might as well just build one. What dimensions should I build it if I plan to run the above mentioned power? Is the .6 cubes best or would it be better to have closer to 1?

I am looking at getting a 10" Q. Would a Crunch GP2250 be a good choice of amp if I got the dual 2 ohm? I would bridge the amp and wire the sub at 4ohm. If I'm not mistaken then that would be 1000w rms, right?

So after selling my Avalanche, i put my 2 13kv.2's back in my car. This is when i realize how amazingly low the avalanche gets. I am almost set on purchasing a 15" BL to replace the avalanche, but i just want to be sure that i will not be dissapointed with the low frequencies. I know it will get loud, but hell my 13kv's matched my avalanche at certain frequencies too. (BL will be on 1200 watts in 3.5 @30hz if it matters much) Anyone with experience with an avalanche as well as a BL (or other Fi sub, i assume they are a bit similar) please give me some input. I want to be absolutely positive that the BL will be $300 well spent. thanks.

I plan on building the enclosure per Fi's specs of 1.5 ft @33hz. The dimensions I have come up with is 14.5" x 14.5" x 18" using3/4" MDF this gives me 1.4937ft after subtracting the woofer and material displacement. I can add to the 14.5" sections of the enclosure if need be to account for port displacement. I'm not familiar with how to calculate port displacement though so I'll need some help on that as well. I planned on mounting the sub on the 14.5" X 18" side and would also prefer to have the port on that side as well. I just want to make sure that I get this right. I'm looking for maximum SQ but still want to have good output. It will be powered by 550w/rms in a PT …

Hello all, First post here, so be kind to an old-schooler... Looking to do a bed box in my Chev 1500 step side. Max dimensions I've got are: Width = 48 Height = 18 Depth = variable I'd like to go with 2 BTL 12's, dual 1ohm. Both subs will be powered by a RF T2500. Wondering if one of you fine gentleman would point me in the right direction with: Net Vb for common chamber enclosure... 2.65 cu.ft. per sub? Optimum vent dimensions based on a 16.5" vent height? Hopefully I provided enough info... I certainly don't expect a full design, maybe just some guidance. Thanks guys, C

Ok, I Have the Pioneer AVH-P5000 HU, an AQ-2200 amp, and 2 Fi Q 15s that are in a 5.5 cu.ft ported enclosure after all displacement that is tuned to 35 Hz. The HU has a RAC output of 4 Volts so i match that voltage as close as possible (3.9V). I tuned my enclosure to 35Hz so my Subsonic level is set to 30Hz. I know that the gain is the most important setting to any amp, followed by the Subsonic filter if you have a ported enclosure. Now am trying to find out how to set my Bass Boost and Low Pass Filter. I looked through the forum found info on the Gain and Subsonic filter but couldnt find anything on the BB or LPF. Are they just set by ear or do they have parameters. Can …
