Whats up everyone. I'm new to this site and im looking for some help with my box build. I just got a Fi Bl 15 dual 1 fully loaded and i am wondering what dimensions i should use to get the most slap outta this sub. I went to RE Audio and used there box calculator and came up with: W: 38" H: 18" D: 17.5"... Port width: 4" port Length 12.75. Second port length: 16"....with 4.2 cu ft. in total for volume. Box is Tuned to: 31.63 hz Does that sound alright? Also im buying a Hifonics BXi 2010D to power the BL so id be giving it 2000 watts. Is that to much? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Hey so i want to tune my box to 32 hz. but i am confused on how this whole box design works. The previous systems that i have had i just bought boxes, but this time i want to build my own. I drive a jeep cherokee so I have plenty of room in the back end for a big box. 1 12" Fi Btl sub. Dual 2 ohm, fully loaded. Brand new. (I have not purchased it yet, but when I do, this is what I am going to buy) Wheel well to wheel well is about 42 inches. Back seat to back door is about 25 inches due to my seat coming out at an angle. (I lose about 8 inches) The floor of the back end to the roof is about 38 inches. The floor to the top of my backseat is about 18.5 inches. Here are some…

where is the optimal placement for the sub cut out. i went a head and am building a box for my single 12"Q. and it's just a basic little 2.36cuft @ 31.69hzported box. i got to thinking before am going to make my cut out for the sub. should i put the sub closer to the port? or dead center? or away from the port? what are the advantages and disadvantages of each? and what would you recommend? also the sub cut out should be at 11.7 inches right? on the website i got that from the cut ID number. thanks guys

I was wondering if someone could help me with box size/measurements. I have a Ford Explorer, I am going to be running a Sundown 3000d with this(Dual 1 BTL 18"). Space I have available, 40in Wide|30in High|75 deep(I don't use this area at all so it can be as big as it has to be).

  11. ok so i just bought an 18" fi btl fully loaded dual 1ohm....i originally wanted my box to be 40"x30"x20" with a port size of 10"x18" (which would pretty much take up my whole trunk space) tuned to 35hz ....but ppl tell me thats probably too big...its goin in a lincoln navigator...can anybody PLEASE just tell me if thats ok or too big or what it is that i have to fix to make my sub hit HARD! also how should i face my sub and port? i originally thought both up, but i heard sub facing up and port facing the rear is better, is this true? ok well first off i working with a hifonics 2000 watt brutus for now...hopefully a saz3000d soon...i listen to mostly rap but pretty much e…

I have an old kicker 1200.1 amplifier but I'm not sure what Ohm stability it has and I'm wanting to buy an Fi BL 18" dual 1 ohm. My question is what could happen if I wired the dual 1 ohm woofer up to my amp and my amp isnt 1 ohm stable? And how can I find out if my amp is?

alright so ive had my 12" bl and sundown saz 1500d in a 2 cuft box wired at 1 ohm for about a week now and its not as loud as i expected. its a great sub dont get me wrong but it really doesnt get loud unless i turn on my loudness control on my headunit to atleast low and turn my eq settings on super bass... but i thought i read somewhere that you should not do either of these things... i was checking out my box that i had custom built and the port area was only 3.5" x 4"... isnt this a little small? i thought the port area should be from 32-24 square inches since the box is 2 cuft. would this make my setup louder?

Foreward fire in a trunk, which of these three boxes are better. The smaller the box the closer the back of the box is from the back of the sub. All are from RE's box calculator. Each box has 16 square inches of port per cubic foot, the first two are off by -.003- & +.008 sq in. The box is 23-26 deep, is that bad for dampening? How far should the back of the magnet be from the box? 2 Fi BTL 12" 4-6kw @ 1ohm 2.46 cubic feet each @ 34.75 HZ with 78.75 square inches of port, box face is 17 x 37. I didn't take into account where I was going to put my amp when designing this box (which is going to take up my ENTIRE trunk...so I had to pull one of the walls in slightly and that brought me down to only 4.7 cubes net after port and sub displacement...is that too small? Will I see any adverse affects?

  18. I am trying to construct a ported box for the driver’s console of a 2007 Malibu VLX wakeboard boat. I would like to install an Fi BL12 and push it with a Kicker 1000.1 amplifier in 2 ohms. The dimensions of the box I plan to build are as follows 18” wide x 18” deep x 18.5” high. I am going to use a PSP (Precison Sound Products) port tuned to 32hz. Is this box size adequate for this sub? Will this sub be ok in this environment? (ie. 100% humidity, maybe a few drops of water and a little bit of full sun). Any tips and advice would be much appreciated. I am use to building only sealed boxes, so ports are totally unfamiliar territory for me, but I’m willing to learn. T…

I'm looking at buying 2 15" Q's with the bp option and just using it for daily driving no competitions. I wasn't sure if it is worth paying more money for the SAZ-3000D or if the AQ2200D is just as good of a fit for my application. I have been through a lot of bad amps and want to go with a good quality and very reliable amp that I won't be afraid it will break after a year of use. I don't know if anyone has or heard a setup like this with either amp but any input would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings, and thank you in advance for considering my inquiries. : ) After becoming privy to the specs and recommendations for the 15" BLs, Qs, and SSDs, I have hit a wall in my plans for purchase. It appears ported enclosures are exclusively recommended for the BLs and SSDs of this driver size. However, the problem is the recommended tuning of which is higher than my target low frequency response of 20 hertz. My questions are: 1). Are these recommended tuning figures aimed at SPL applications? I'm far more concerned with brilliantly effective low range response than mid- bass volume. 2). Can they be tuned to 20 hertz and still be effective drivers? 3). If not, would a …

Okay, so i messed up a little. I have a hifonics bxi2601d amp, and i wanted to wire my sub to 1ohm. I ordered a 12" fi BTL fully loaded dual 1ohm model... OOPS! anyways, i tried to change the order, we'll see how that works. If i am stuck with the 1ohm model, and i wire my sub to 2ohms, meaning it will get the rated 1700w rms, (probabaly 1200-1500 actually) do you think it'll sound under powered? I'm running 0/1 gauge wires, and my box is 2.73^3. Stock alt and battery for now. My goal is to sound better than a jl 13w7, my buddy said hes hitting 143db on the reader. you think Ill get him?

Guys Prob havent post for over a year now, thats because I have kept all my things in the closet and lost touch about car audio while playing mafia wars LOL. My question are: i. How long does a sub magnet stays magnetize? In my place 33c-35c is considered a normal sunny day. ii. Does heat from the sun + heat from playing music will effect the magnet strength? iii. Does keeping the sub in the closet (its bare and I didnt put it in the box) will have other effects like rust, deterioration of rubber, spider getting weaker etc? Btw I own 2 15Q's which I bought back in 2007
