a friend wants a fi q 18" in a blow through box in his S10. my thought was to build a box in the bed with a collar of linexed MDF into the cab. once i have the box built then i would build another box over it to span the distance of the bed rails and help weather proof the box in the bed. a ZX1500.1 will be his amp with a 220A mechman alt and a XS 2500 battery. he mostly listens to chilly peppers, some techno, basically what ever pandora throws on. to that end i think the sub might do well tuned a tad higher than 32 but what are your thoughts? is there anything that most people over look when building a blow through?

Hello to my friends in the audio world... As the title states... i was wondering what would get louder.. four 15'' fi q on 3000 watts or four 15''fi ssd on same said power...it would be in the same enclousure and same port freq....30 hz there about... i guess what i am really asking is...would the Qs get louder thant the ssd even with 750 watts to each....thanks for help in advance

I picked this sub for cheap and all I have to power it is a sundown that pushes 600rms at 2ohm just was wondering if it would be okay to give the sub such low rms compare to what it could handle. or should I just get another amp that does 1000 at 2ohm. Also I have kinectic batteries with a 120amp alt wondering if that be fine or would I have to upgrade it anything. 12.8v and 14.5 at startup i think.

I wanna do 2 15" subs (read Fi BL's) In the back of an 1990 Formula.........think it can be done without having a sealed box or a wall and still having a backseat?? God I hope so. J

So I am about ready to start this new setup. I ended up thinking that I would like to go with two flared ports with a 15" sub. Is it okay to put two flared ports in an enclosure with a single 15? I wanted to do this, sadly, for the looks so I can keep the sub in the middle of the enclosure so things stay symmetric. How do I go about this. Do I follow the same rough 12 to 16 inches of port area per cu ft of volume or do i now divide that in half since I am running two ports. Any help would be great as I dont want to screw this up. THanks.

I've read and read. Perhaps under the explaination of options, this could be added to the flatwinds description if it holds out to be true: Does Flatwind add power handling and excursion at the expense of sound quality?

I have two BL tens and I was looking to recone them but I can't figure out if it has a flatwind coil. If it doesn't can I upgrade to it without it being a problem? How can I tell if it has one or not cuz I need it but idk if it'll work with it

I need to get my box done before my subs get here. So I need to know how deep to cut so the subs will be flush mounted. Does anyone have that info or have a bl to check for me. Thanks

Hello I have a jeep srt8 with two rockford fosgate 1500.1 bcd's and four rockford p3 15s in a custom box tuned to 35 hertz. I want louder now. I've been hearing alot about the fi subs. I wanna keep my amps but get four fighteens that will do great with my amps. Both amps comined will do 3900 watts rms. I've been looming at the fi bl line. They are rated at 1000 watts rms 2000 peak. So if I had four Of them they would be 4000 watts rms , I would only be shorting them 100 watts. My question is can these amps slam the bl pretty hard and can I use my same enclosures I have now with 12 cubic ft and , 6.1 per chamber for two subs on each side and tuned to 35 hz. Basically each…

I see a ton of pretty designs floating around was wondering what people were using. I Googled it but they all "calculate" various specs and I'm looking for a drawing program? I have a Fi BTL 12 running with a rockford fosgate amp but I've been wondering what I'm supposed to set the frequency knob to on the amp near the gain.I think it goes between 80hz-300hz. I dunno.any info anyone?

I believe I will be running this amp at 1ohm to my dual 2 ohm sub. Will this sub handle what is said to be 1500w RMS from the SAZ (which I have heard is under rated)? I am not planning to pin the gain or anything, I just do not want to blow the sub.

So as of right now i have a Q 15 powered by a BXI 1606 running at 1 ohm so the sub is dual 2. My next goal is to get another Q 15, but I really want to get a RF T3000 but they would have to run at 2 ohm and be dual 1's right? So i would have to recone my current one or 2 (if everything goes right) to run at 2 ohms. But then agan if i end up w/ 2 dual 2 Q's i could just get 2 RF T1000's I just need some advice -send in my current Q for a swap and get both dual 1 so i could run the T3000 -keep my current Q a dual 2 and run each off T1000's How much actual power do the T1000's put out? Do these hold up to the other T line? I know a T3000 would be very generous for 2 Q's but…

Soon im doing a blowthrough in my 97' single cab s10. I need an opinion on an amp to go with the 18" Fi car audio btl. I was thinking of the rockford fosgate t20001bd. I have no idea what amp and how to wire it right to get the right power to the sub. With that amp i would wire it at 1 ohm. is that the best way to go. I know if i wire it up at 4ohm i need alot bigger amp... any suggustions.

Just like the title says, I'm planning on getting an Fi Q12, dual 1 ohm with BP power. I was planning on running it off of this at 2 ohms. Will this power it properly? Also, will I need to do any electrical upgrades such as the big three upgrade or a red top battery under the hood? for my next setup i was thinking of doing an 18" btl out of a 2002 pontiac grand prix's trunk on a sundown 3500d. it seems thats what everyone likes to pair up with the btl. this is for a daily system. and the box would probably be like 6 cubes tuned to mid 30s. is this a solid setup? how much wattage do u guys think it will actually see after impedance rise? should i just get a 2000 watt rms amp or roll with the 3500 like i was planning on? and i know this is a difficult question to answer, but does anyone have any experience of any setups like this playing out of a trunk? obviously it all depends on the install and blah blah blah, but i was figuring id make somewhere ar…
