Any thoughts or ideas on 2 12" FI BTL's (Fully Loaded) in 5 ft^3 with almost 154 in of port area????? Tuned at 32 hertz.... I understand that it is going to be an extremly long port almost 71 inches. but i have ideas for that.....Planned on using 14 inch round pvc pipe with a few 90 degree elbows in it. and how would u go about measuring something that has that many bends. Also i planned on the port having its own chamber with only the end into the part of the box where the subs are to reduce flexing and hopefully where more air flow goes into the port. But it might be a crazy idea. So if anyone could give me some feed back it would be great!!!! Thank's, Brock

Question What is the highest and lowest tuning that you all know of for the differnet series of the Fi lineup? AA would also be considered. Personally I would be most concerened with 18s and 15s I currently have 1 15" BTL dual mag in 3.8CF and tuned to 35hz Many people including myself (surprise) are really impressed by the output of this sub/enclosure combo I however have realised that (to know surprise) the cabinet is not capable of playing the lowest notes. Really needing more airspace for lower simpler tuning abilities, the box is great for "most people" and say a "rocker" type listener. Now since I myself am a rocker, Staind, Linkin Park, Korn, come to mind mo…

I plan on ordering a SSD 18" pretty soon and I'm attempting to make my own box. I'm only 16 and I'm not very good at math so if you guys could help me it would be greatly appreciated. I used the box calculator over at ssa and this is what I got. The 18" SSD needs 6-10cuft and needs to be tuned at 33hz, well I came up with some numbers and I got 19.5"H/ 36"W/ 18.5"D and after displacement that gives me 5.9cuft. And then it gives me the port length, area, and volume. (Port Length = 0.722 inches) (Port Area = 7.069 inches squared) (Port Volume = 0.003 ft cubed) What do I do with those numbers? I have no idea of how to tune a port or anything like that so I will need some he…

Hey guys! I was wondering what any of you with a Q 18 set your crossover or lpf to? Also what type of crossover? Right now I have BW and LR filters to choose from, 6, 12, 18, or 24db/octave and 12 and 24db/octave, respectively. A simple frequency recommendation would be great though, hehe. I have tried many values from 70 to 180Hz but can't really decide. Are there any tests I could do to help me decide? Right now I have it at 127Hz 24dB LR which seems to be fine but I still feel indecisive. Thanks!

I am new to car audio and need some help with what i would need for a subs as powerful as the BTL's. I heard you need a charging system for your amp to keep up with it, but im not sure what that is. Also what kind of amp would i need for, lets say 2 15" BTL's

I'm currently looking at components to go with my 12" BL. I'm going to either go with Rainbow SLC 265s or SLC 265 Kicks. What I was wondering was with my box tuned to 32 Hz would my BL get loud enough up to 80 Hz to be able to have my high pass at 80 for the Kicks? Thanks

Ok here is the email I sent to Fi. Just thought Id post it here while I wait for their reply cause they r so busy. I bought an 18" BTL a while ago and need some recommendations on the type of enclosure I should use. First I went to my local shop to see what kind of designs they could offer me and what they thought would work best for my application. I talked to the guy that specializes in enclosures and unfortunately he hasn't heard of Fi before. So I gave him the web addy to get the parameters of the sub so he could plug the numbers into the enclosure software they have. But, the bad thing was, it couldn't calculate the specs for whatever reason. At that point we started…

I am very curious on this one. About how tall would a box have to be to fit a 18" BTL forward facing in it. I am curious cause I wonder if I can get it in the bed of my truck or not. I don't think I can, but am curious none-the-less. Thanks

Went with 10" bl, cooled, RF t10001bd at 1 ohm, 1cf ported box, (which is tuned a little high, might take apart and add an L to the port to lengthen it and drop tuning a bit). Just bought a 200amp alt. 1/0 wire all around, 4awg on alt. Was wondering if i should go for a cap, read that independent testing puts this amp closer to 1500watts at 1 ohm and want plenty of aux power, for starting the car and what not. Also should I stuff the box? Been a while since i had bass in the car, but then nit was just a thrown together mismatch system with no regard to resistance on the amp or any other important factor for that matter..wanna do it right this time. Any advice is appreciat…

Did the guys at Fi re-evalutate the SP4 and change the RMS from 2500 to 3000 watts, or did they redesign it to increase RMS?

Here are my details: 2007 Chrysler 300C (Huge Trunk) Fi Q15 (With BP option) Cadence iA7 (1000 wrms @ 12.8?, 1200wrms@ 14.4) Big 3 Wiring Upgrade Listen to primarily Rap/Hip Hop & R&B Q#1- How far below the tuning frequency of a ported enclosure can you listen to a sub without causing damage?? Q#2- I love very deep, low bass! I was planning on a box 3.5-4 cf ported, tuned to 28hz. Is setup going to please my needs?? Q#3- Should I have went with the BP option with my power available?? It is free right now, so I figured it couldnt hurt.... right? I cannot wait to hear this setup!! Anyone posting 140db plus numbers on a single Q in a trunk?? Thanks for your help!!

Can someone answer this question for me; I see that they offer a lot of upgrades, but each one will affect the parameters and driver's behavior. It would be nice if they offered updated parameters and more information on each of these upgrades. Adding mass to the assembly, then adding spiders and changing spider packs, changing coil assemblies, and materials etc, does quite a bit to affect the driver's behavior, from altering moving mass and resonant frequency, causing QES changes, and inductance variances to causing shifts in the CMS curves... All these things really affect the driver's behavior as a whole, the way it will sound, and they even affect the enclosure design…

Well, I've been looking to start my first real system, and I found a really good deal on these 2 subs. They are the 1ohm 12" Q's. I am pretty newbish and was wondering what configuration would be best (I would guess just wiring them for 1ohm final), and what amps would be good options to push these? Im still in highschool with a part time job so my budget is a little tight (but feel free to say what you think, I can save up if need be). Many thanks, Ben
