Just got this with copper coils. What gauge speaker cable should I use? I was going to feed it 700 watts RMS.

  4. i have four btl 18s. is it safe to try to drill the terminals to make them just a little bit wider? i cant fit a full piece of 8 gauge into one terminal, i have to trim it just a little bit. and trying to fit two 8 gauge wires into one terminal i might as well just use 12 or 14 gauge because i have to trim the 8 gauge down so much its ridiculous. how bout taking either a unibit/varibit/stepbit (call it what u want), or a slightly bigger drill bit and try to make them bigger? extremely bad idea and i'm gonna end up needing to replace something because i'll break something? or be very careful and go slow and it will work? 2000 rms u would think u could fit a big ass wire …

I ordered recones for Konaki motors, if you can remember, I have the thread up in the General Fi section, anyway, I was wondering what type of spiders and coils you used in the recones construction. It looked to me like 3 spiders were used and the coils were copper flatwind. Also would like to find out what you guys would estimate the power handling (rms) of the sub would be with the soft parts you sent me. They are seeing probably 1200 watts each, which I am sure they can handle fine, I do not plan on upgrading my amp EVER, but I am wondering just out of curiosity what the rms of these things would be.

I'm about to purchase one to go with my JBL 1200.1 Plan is to make a sealed enclosure. I have up to 3 cubes to work with and I see that Fi recommends 2-2.6 What size should I make it? I'm looking for deep and tight bass. I love low lows and when the sub just slams. Other question is weight. How much does a Q15 weigh? Last question is can I run the full 1200 watts to the Q15? thank you

  9. i want to get a 15" BTL and put it in a 1999 dodge stratus. i cant decide if i want a ported box with the BTL firing at a 45 degree angle towards the trunk and have the port firing towards the seats (i currently leave my back seat down, it is MUCH louder). OR go with a sealed box with the BTL firing towards the seats with my back seat down. i was thinking a Hifonics Brutus 2406 for it, which is 2,400 watts RMS at 1 ohm. i would get it fully loaded. PLEASE MAKE ALL THE RECOMMENDATIONS YOU WISH! another thing is the new BTL's, there is no triple stack magnet!?!?!?!?!?!? it is just a single magnet, why would they to that???

I plan on ordering a SSD 18" pretty soon and I'm attempting to make my own box. I'm only 16 and I'm not very good at math so if you guys could help me it would be greatly appreciated. I used the box calculator over at ssa and this is what I got. The 18" SSD needs 6-10cuft and needs to be tuned at 33hz, well I came up with some numbers and I got 19.5"H/ 36"W/ 18.5"D and after displacement that gives me 5.9cuft. And then it gives me the port length, area, and volume. (Port Length = 0.722 inches) (Port Area = 7.069 inches squared) (Port Volume = 0.003 ft cubed) What do I do with those numbers? I have no idea of how to tune a port or anything like that so I will need some he…

I'm currently looking at components to go with my 12" BL. I'm going to either go with Rainbow SLC 265s or SLC 265 Kicks. What I was wondering was with my box tuned to 32 Hz would my BL get loud enough up to 80 Hz to be able to have my high pass at 80 for the Kicks? Thanks

Not at the same time! I have two boxes built for my single 12BL. (D2, loaded, daily) One is 2.5cuft @ 32. Slot port. Homemade The other is 2.0cuft @ 32. Kerfed port. PTS They are both designed around the 12BL t/a parameters. Two questions. Is the BTL a substantial upgrade from the BL? Could I use the 12BTL in the same box which was designed for the 12BL?

So I got 3 15 in dual 2s wired in series tuned to 33hz on an audiopipe 30001d amp isn't turned up a little under half no clipping and as normal subs gets a little warm never hot enough to where u can smell the coils burning up. Now my issue i ran into today Is I was listening to them going to lunch with no problems and shut the truck off and came back out and just turned system on and how I can describe it is one of the subs instantly started to make a distorted rattling noise... kinda sounds like the sub is farting all lower frequency but not noticeable at higher frequencys. I pulled speaker out and the coils dont have any noticeable scratching or rubbing.. Now I'm just …

I have a 07 Tahoe and 2 BL dual 1 ohm 18s on a hifonics BXi 2010. I was looking to add 2 more 18 BLs in a 18cu. ft. ported box tuned to 32Hz. I also wanted to upgrade my amps to 2 RF T2500-BDs strapped at 2ohms. My question is will this be too much power for the subs? They are fully loaded for daily use. Please help. Thanx.

  25. Can anyone recommend one? I purchased a dual 2 ohm Fi BL 15 and my current amp does not have a subsonic filter (which the install guy says will be needed to best tune the system). Some of the amps on the SSA website don't tell me what load they are stable at in Mono.
