Hello. I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 regular cab, and I want a "system". I have figured up that I have about 1.7-1.8 cubes of space behind the seat. I was originally wanting 2 12's, but I would still like to have the massive amount of storage space that Dodges have. So I was just wonding if I could fit an SSD 15 behind my passenger seat. The top of the box will be 6.5" deep, and the bottom will be 10.5" deep. The reason for going with a 15 instead of a 12, is just for the coolness factor of saying, "Yeah, I've got a 15". Thanks for any responces!!!

Hi everyone, first time poster on this forum. Posting all the way from Australia. Okay, So I'm in the planning stage for a system in the new car, and I've just started doing up some rough design/placement ideas on Inventor, when I ran in to a problem. I'm designing this for a Fi Q12 ported, and I know the recommended enclosure sizes given by Fi of 1.8-2.5 cf @ 28-33Hz. However, that is quite a large margin of variation for a recommended enclosure volume (0.7 cf and 5Hz tuning frequency can affect the sound a fair bit). As I'm not a massive fan of guessing/speculating about the best enclosure volume, I decided to pull out the calculator and the old loudspeaker design coo…

Im looking at this... for one Fi 18" BTL.... internal dimensions of: 17"H x 29.5"W x 31.5"D I subtracted .26 for speaker displacement, 1.428 for port displacement, and just guessed around .2 for bracing displacement (im mostly gonna use .75" threaded rods and some 2x2)... and I came up with a NET Volume of 7.25 cubes and the port is gonna be 17"h x 6"w x 26"d (with a total of 102 sq "/ 14.06 cubic inches each ft3) ...I came up with a 33.22 hz tune with all this..... can ya'll review these specs, and let me know if this all seems correct? I would greatly appreciate it!!! :foshizzle: thanks, john

I plan on running to Fi Qs in a sealed enclosure, using the minimum recommended volume due to space constraints. My power is a Zapco c2k 9.0 4ohm version. I can run the amp bridged or in stereo, so that opens up both the dual 1ohm and dual 2ohm voice coil configs as options. Since I intend to run sealed, I plan on ordering the high QTS option. So here is the dilema: I noticed that the T/S parameters are different for both the D1 and D2 ohm cofigs, and I imagine that the high QTS option further changes the T/S parameters. With that in mind, does anyone have any thoughts on which configuration would behave the best installed in the smallest recommended volume and usin…

Hey guys I'm getting my plan's ready on my btl n2 18. I already have my amp to power it(hifonics for now). But I'm still deciding on the box plans. I'm doing a ported box tuned to 33hz. I want to do the box perfect and to spec but I'm having a hard time calculating the bracing and how thick I should make it for safety. Any advice would be appreciated thanks for your time

Hey guys, I've been messing around with ideas for my subwoofer and I have a way maybe that'll help with my predicament. Currently, I have a 1995 Honda Accord Sedan and the 18" is to big I believe to fit in rear facing. Currently I have it horizontally mounted. However...after looking through some of the build logs, I am debating about whether doing a slanted box or not. My question to you guys is, what types of effects will I see of this? Ideally, I wanted to do it rear facing. But i dont think that will happen. So i've compromised with it angled. it will still be around a 5 cu ft box and about a 60 degree angle the subw ill be mounted on. Any big difference you guys thin…

I know people are going to say it depends on my application, but what would be a good starting net volume for a box for a single Team 15. Running on a DC 5K with 2 XS batteries and a Northstar 170ft. Do these subs like bigger enclosures? I will be slamming it daily but also doing some SPL. I'd like to tune it around 33hz. Thanks in advance.

Ok this is a repost from yesterday, but I never received any responses. So i am reposting in the technical section. I currently have a Memphis 1000D left over from a previous setup (4 - memphis PR 12"s) in a blazer. I have since sold that vehicle, but still have the amp and speakers laying around. After learning about Fi Audio and reading more and more about them over the past week. I am interested in purchasing one 12" Q to go under the rear seat of my 05 Ext Cab GMC Sierra. I want to use the existing amp to power the sub. If my memory serves me correct, it is capable of 1100x1 RMS Power @ 1 Ohm Mono (14.4V). I'm wondering if I should add the BP option to the sub to allo…

Hello there! So a couple months ago I reconed my 12'' fully loaded (older-model) BTL. Before, it lived in one of Pete's Team Toxic Enclosures...but due to the possibility that it may have blown because of the complexity of the enclosure...I want to design a more simple one with the same dimensions of the previous. Problem is, I do not know how to design one. The dimensions would be 20 by 30 by 14. I would like it to be tuned at 32 hz. If someone could please point me towards a thread with the same specs, or design one for me. I would be very greatful. The sooner I could have this figured out, the sooner I can build the box and install the subwoofer. Thank you. P.S. : …

I'm wondering if this is a good idea. The box being 12 cubic feet @ 35 hz with 189 square inches of port. That's about 15.7 square inches per cubic foot. I can tune slightly lower, but will sacrifice port area. Is this a good design for daily driving?

Well im in my garage right now trying to decide if i should make a 5" slot port tuned to 32hz, a 4" slot port tuned to 31hz, or a 3" tuned to 27hz... Im using the RE calculator to build a box and when im looking at the 5" port it says the Volume internal, and volume displaced is 2000...on the others its 1500 and below..i have no idea what this means, is it how loud the box will be or what..Which port u think i should design???Also the larger the port the less box volume i have..its been between 3.6-4ft3..i cant make a bigger box so let me kno which port is gonna be the best!! PS. the box i have been running is below 1000 volume internal and displaced, so im guessing the …

My space is 39" wide and I can go 20" tall. How deep do I need to make the box (and how long AND wide does my slot port need to be) to have a net volume of 4-4.5cuft and a daily tuning of 30-33hz? Power will come from 2 sundown saz1500's strapped at 2ohm. Thanks
