I have a 99 chevy tahoe that is bagged and I am looking to building a box inbetween the rear tubs. In the picture it shows my measurement but will this be enough space for 2-15' FI Q? Those are inches not feet, sorry.

What are they since there not posted on your website? Actually, none of the parameters for any of the BTL's are posted on your website?

  3. So I unrapped my new toys today and put them in. But I want to make sure that I don't need to remove this bolt covering the pole. I'm thinking it's just there for shipping so nothing gets in, but no book = no idea. Great looking sub, and I'm happy. Perhaps someone could save the Fi guys some time and make up a generic 2 page book or something. You know like people always like to ask "where's the mounting holes" and now I'm asking about the allen bolt. etc. etc.

I am looking into buying the 15 or 18. I would like to say that I would rather get the 18, but that's not true. I want to get whatever will promote the best response with my trunk size. I have a 03 grand prix, and the height of the trunk is only 17 inches. The maximum dimensions the box width and length can be are 35 x 30. My main question is if the surround of the sub is only 1 1/2 to 2 inches away from the lid, will that decrease my response? With the 18 the dimensions would be 15 tall x 35 wide x 29 deep with the port firing into the cab tuned at 33hz. Will smaller actually give me the most bass? I'm not worried about SQ, just spl... Thanks in advance! Any help and ad…

I have an 04 super crew F150 and im taking the center seat out of the back seat and im gonna center console 2 12"s. im gonna try to fit BTLs. id like to keep it a wood enclosure to keep the cost down. Anyone have any ideas for how to get them to fit and have the airspace they need?

i have the fully loaded btl, in jus 6 3^4 cu ft box tuned to 34.78 and theres no doubt about it being loud, and rumbling things BUT i am not able to do a hair trick. there is very little air being moved around. is this normal? or is the box to close to the hatch, and not getting enough air? my brother has the 9515g and we put his box n sub in my ride and it moved air like crazy, but the btl isnt move any. any ideas why?

Or should I say my son wants loud. I've e-mailed Scott a couple of times, but I know how busy he gets. I thought I'd try here. What I'm looking for is the loudest possiblw set up that I can get with an honest 1400 watts @1 ohm available. I can build a box any size I need to, so that's not an issue. It's going in a mini-van so I've got plenty of room. He's trying to do better than his current setup of 2 AA Arsenal 12's in a ported box (tuned around 32-35Hz). My initial thoughts were 2 SSD18's w/dual 2 Ohm vc's in a ported box, but I'm looking for advice from someone from Fi. Once the drivers are chosen, I'll need help with box dimensions. TIA, Carl.

As titled says. my max dimension is W33 H17 D26 which I calculate would be 6.52cu^3 after speaker displacement. I have 6.25 round ports and I know its kinna small for the 15Q but thats what I'm planning to use. When I use winisd (i know) with 6.5 cu^3 and 2 round 6.25" port tuned to 30hz I got a 23.57" long. I know my calculation is off because I have not deduct port displacement but hope someone can give input. I know the box is kinna small for the 2 15 but thats the only space I can spare. Most online port calculator wouldn't allow me to calculate 2 ports. Also the sub will be powered by 2 SAZ1500d. Thanks

New to Fi and just picked up a 18" btl. Need some suggestions on box size and tuning. I have about 10 cubes gross before driver and port. Looking to do a sub up, port back, tuned to maybe 35hz with 4k of power. A few have said that these have tremendous bottom end so I'd like to tune appropriately.

I scored 2 15"q's of ebay for 405$ So im in the process of designing a new box for them. My box total after speaker and bracing displacement is 11.488cuft. So i need about 137-183 inches of port area. I was thinking a 9inx20in port 25.84 inches long for 30hz. That would leave me 8.798cuft after all displacement with 180 inches of port area. Does this sound good? If not what would you reccomend?

What sort of rules apply when constructing a ported enclosure. I know the basics like tuning and port dimensions. But do subs need to be spaced a certain distance appart to be effective...? Things like that! Cheers

what does Universal option do to the sub frequencies response? will it make the SPL lower since the motor is not optimised for the coil impedence chosen? or does it give the 'peaky' effect like flatwind?

OK i have a little big problem with my fi q 12 sub. the spider has unsticked , or broked , from the center of VC or how is called in english and that makes the sub scratch if i play music. i stopped the music since that day cuz even if i slowly hit with my finger the surface is does pack pack !!! oufull sound. and... i expected more from Fi ... i never tought it will broke. by the way the voice coils are intact. tHE power that the sub recieved was 900 w/ 1 ohm . thanks ... i hope u can help me. http://img76.imageshack.us/my.php?image…

Hey guys, first post! Haha. Well, I recently just received my 15" BTL in the mail. I was looking and it and noticed that there were no screw holes for mounting the sub to your box. So how do you mount it? Another question I had was, is there a special way that I should be breakin in the sub? I didn't know if there was a good way to do it. Thanks guys and appreciate all the feedback.
