all right so i currently have 1 12" bl 2008 model and im thinking up my new set up and im throwing some things aorund. i was thinking one 15" btl or 1 12" BTL but then i remembered that 2 12" BL's should be louder than a single BTL and i was just thinking how much louder would 2 12" BL's be compared to 1 12" bl. It would be 2 12" BL in a custom ported enclosure in the trunk of a little cavalier 2 door. it would be 2.5 cu ft per sub with 39 sq inches of port per sub and a tuning of 32, and on a rockford 2500 (be approximatly 1400-1500 per sub rms) compared to a single 12" bl in a 2.5 cu ft after displacment tuned to 34 hz with 39 sq inches of port. also on a rockford 150…

Does the sub come with aluminum or copper coils? sorry if theres a thread about this but i looked on the site and couldnt find a difinitive answer on this. Also what exactly does the BP power option do, does it effect the sound of the sub whatsoever or is it something just to help with thermal capabilities of the driver? thanks in advance.

This is for my buddy thats in Iraq. Im doing all of this for him while he is gone. The vehicle in a 2001 Chevy Silverado EXT Cab. He needs the back seat due to a child. http://www.supercrewsound.com/shop/detail/11/242.htm thats the box we decided on. He wont have to raise his seat any and it will fit no problem. Now the question is should he get 12" or 10" FI SSDs. if he gets the 12" they will be in about .71cuft each and if he gets the 10" they will be in about .73cuft. The amp is the Kicker ZX1500.1. He listens to rap/rock/country you name it he listens to it. What would you guys suggest? Would polyfill help the lack of space for the 12" Any help would be great guys.

Hey guys im looking to try out the maxx link but i have a question for ya. Im gonna be running 4 kicker zx2500.1 amps and 2 18in Btl dual 1 ohm subs. The zx amps are 2 ohm stable and i was wondering if there is any possible configuration to have the amps see a 2ohm load once strapped. Also would i be better without the maxx link and running each amp to each coil? What ohm loads could i see there. thanks

Hello again, Now it`s the time for some SQ after some flexxin` (ex: and hihi ).After 6 months of BoomBoom and re-listening to some local SQ cars(some brax users, scanspeaks, focal, microprecision etc) I bought from a friend (who upgraded to microprecision) a set of Focal 165 K2P woofers and HybridAudio L1 Pro tweeters and an Alpine 9835. Now I`m sounddeadning my car, especialy my front doors with 1layer of SS Damplifier Pro+Spectrum Sludge+Damplifier+OverKill pro. Amps: HAT L1pro: Zapco Z50S2; Focals: Premier; Fi Q15: US Amps XT4000(1500W@1ohm load). What enclosure should I build for an SQ setup....a 2cuft or...2.5-2.6 cuft? The subwoofer is behind the front stag…

Hey guys, i recently built a box for my 18" BL and i realized it doesnt really have the low end that I am looking for. So, I'm looking at blocking up one of my ports to lower the tuning. my question about this is the vent velocity. currently, its tuned to around 37Hz. if i blocked up one of the ports, i'd lower it down to 31Hz. Vent velocity is what worries me though: at 37Hz, I have a peak of 15.7m/s VV @ 25Hz at 31Hz, I'd have a peak of 22.9m/s VV @ 22Hz; i reach 15.7m/s of VV with the 31Hz tuning @ 34Hz Is it worth it? or will the port noise be to much? the group delay also jumps a little bit, but i'm not to worried about that because it all happens in the 24Hz range…

Hi all, I have, what I hope is an easy question.... I have a pair of fully loaded BL 10's, So I am using WinISD to design a box, and I have some missing driver parameters: Pe: ????? ( I was assuming 1000watts ) Le: ????? Z: ????? Any help would be most appreciated! I currently have them housed in a 2.56 cu ft boxed tuned to 28.33 hz that I built for my previous cerwin vega v-max's, and the FI's sound really good in it, I just want to make sure I am not missing anything by not building a spec'd out box. Thanks!

At the moment I am really thinking of running 2 12" BTLs. I know this may be a dumb question, but hey, I am new and gotta learn somehow....anyway, how do the 12" BTLs sound. I have heard some subs where the 12" would sound horrible (imo) but the 15 sounded great....both in the optimum setup and tuning. Just like some subs aren't really recommended for certain types of enclosures or applications....is it ok to use 2 12" BTLs for a daily driver or would it be more beneficial to use the BLs due to application types.

  14. I am about to purchase a single SSD 12" to pair with my Rockford Fosgate T1001-bdcp. The amp is 1 ohm stable, but the birth sheet shows only about 50 more watts when compared to 2 ohms. May I please ask whether you recommend going d1/serial to 2 ohms or d2/parallel to 1 ohm? I will be going with high QTS/sealed and cooling (personal preference). Thanks!

  15. By the end of next week I will test the sx 15 with dual 2's, and the Bl 15 with dual 2s, and p chamfer. I will test them both in a 3ft3 enclosure tuned around 49hz. Which do you all think will be the Louder sub? I'm not going to post the results, out of respect for the two companies.

Hello, I have been thinkging about buying a new sub and one of the members of another forum I visit is always raving about Fi subs so I decided to have a look for myself. I have been trying to read up on the forum and think I have decided on a sub, but I am not too sure about the box. Based on what I have read it seems that a 12" Q is what I am looking for. I want a good sounding sub with the ability to play low and loud. I only really want 1 sub as my trunk space is limited and I'm not trying to win any spl competitions. Basically it will be in my daily driver. Right now I am still in the research stage but have no clue about a box. I don't know if sealed or port…

I was wondering if I can run my friend's Fi Q in my box that is 4.5 cu ft tuned 32? It has BP option, and I would be running about 1000 watts to it. Would the sub be fine as long as I am responsible?

So, after much nagging, my old lady talked me out of doing the pacman design with 4 15" BTL's in the bed of my truck cause it would take up every inch. So, will I be able to put 3 15's straight across the bed of my truck so that I have a little room to put stuff towards the end of the bed in my truck. Or will I have to go with two BTL's. 6'6" front to back 5'3" wide 4'1" wide between wheel wells 1'10" from one end to the wheel well 1'8.5" from other end to wheel well These are some dimensions I got from one of those custom fit rubber mats for the bed of this truck. I think the bed is about 21" deep. LOL, my old lady thanks you..........

  24. Hi everyone. I've been reading up on Fi Car Audio and in particular the Q series of subwoofers. I really can't wait to start getting my cash together for one of these bad boys. However I have a small knowledge base problem. I don't understand the exact effect of a larger box volume for a subwoofer. In particular I've read that the recommended box size for a sealed Q 15 is 2 - 2.6 cuft. Now, would the subwoofer get louder if the size was 2.6cuft vs 2cuft? There is more air to be moved in a 2.6 vs a 2 correct? But if this is true then would there be any other effects of having a larger box beside the obvious space consumption in the trunk? Bonus question: I listen to a lot …
