I was just wondering, if when adding a port to your box do I minus the width of port and then I'll have my true area of space the actual woofers will be in?

I am looking to build an SPL box for two 15" Fi SSDs with copper coils... I am just going to switch out of my daily box to this box when I go to competitions... What size box, and tuning would be best? I have a '95 4-door Blazer it will be going in.. I was thinking something along the lines of 6ft^3 tuned to 45hz..

this is the size of box i want to build: 16tall x 40wide x 28deep, there is an internal volume amount of 8.11 cu ft. after you account for the entire top being double baffled... subs up, port back (in the middle). i came up with a port, 13.75tall x 8wide x 23.5deep for a tuning of 32hz using this program: http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 i used the "Calculate Your Vent Length" section to come up with that port. it asks what tuning frequency you desire but there is not a place to enter how many or what size drivers you are using. is that port good for four 12"s?

I just down sized with my new vehicle so im thinking of running 2 15" Fi Q's sealed to help conserve trunk space. I want to keep using my T2500 but my question is will this be too much power to run these subs sealed? i plan on using an enclosure that is approximately 3^3ft per chamber. The car is a 2006 Impala SS. Any help would be much appriciated. Thanx.

I have a Autotek Street Machine 1500 watt amp that I was planning on using with them put I was curious if they could handle it.I did not get the BP power or flatwind coil when I placed my order.I got dual 1ohm instead of dual 2 ohm voice coils so im planing on running the subs at 1ohm.Any advice or help would be greatly appreicated.Let me know if any more info is needed and ill post it up.Thanks

I'm trying to decide on a sub for my car, and design an enclosure for it. I listen to a lot of drum and bass, so due to the wide range of frequencies, I've already decided to go with a sealed enclosure, and I have a Hifonics BXi 1606D to power the sub. My original plan was to go with a 10" Q, as I figured it would be more than loud enough, even sealed. The issue I've run into, however, is that I want to mount the amp on top of the box, to keep things more compact (take up less trunk space), and to make the box and amp easily removable for autocrosses. The problem I'm having is that once I make the top of the box large enough to hold the amp (~11.25 x 14.5), and make the b…

New to Fi and just picked up a 18" btl. Need some suggestions on box size and tuning. I have about 10 cubes gross before driver and port. Looking to do a sub up, port back, tuned to maybe 35hz with 4k of power. A few have said that these have tremendous bottom end so I'd like to tune appropriately.

Could somebody tell me what the diameter of the magnet is on the 12" BTL. And, what is the mounting depth of the same sub is. And one more thing, if I build a box that is 5" at the top, 11" at the bottom, 20" tall, and 40" wide, will that be enough room to fit a 12" BTL with just cooling(will it be deep enough)?

I am pretty sure I have neither the room or the amp for 2 of the Qs but I am getting 2 of em for $260 If I did want to change amps and run 2 Q12s, how much air space would I need to do them justice in a sealed enclosure? I have started to consider using both after a day to think about it. Initially I was only going to use 1. So, I guess I have 3 questions enclosure space for 2 sealed enclosure space for 1 ported enclosure space for 1 sealed Thanks for any and all help Jman Oh, the car is my 2001 Trans Am, I kinda want to use the space available on top of the gas tank in the rear hatch and get my ttop space back.
