I am toying with the idea of putting 2 12" SSDs in a ported box. My original plan was to seal them, but I don't know what kind of output I would get. Could someone help me design a ported box for these subs? I am totally new to ported boxes so I don't know where to start. I'd like to maintain as much SQ as possible and gain as much output as possible. Dimension wise, my trunk could accomodate a box 39" across and 17" high. Depth is negotiable, depending on the size of box needed. Thanks in advance for the help.

WHICH DESIGN WOULD BE BETTER THE SUBS SHOOTING UP WITH THE PORT AT THE BOTTOM SHOOTING BACK, OR SUBS AND PORT FACING THE SAME DIRECTION.

So im about to build my first ported box and i need a little help. My 15" bl will be getting 2000 watts and has cooling and flatwind options. This will be going into a 96 infiniti i30 (same as maxima) My goal is to have the best LSQ setup as possible leaning more towards spl. I think i want to tune ~35. If the box is 4 cubes with the tuning at 35, is a port size of 4W x 13h x 21.8L correct? Is that enough port area? And is that a good tuning for my goal? Also if i use 2 circular ports that are 4" in diameter and 10.5 inches long would that be enough port area and the right tuning? Thanks a lot -Rick

I'm Looking At Building A Ported 8 Cubic Foot Box For The SSD 18. Someone Couldn't Help Me With The Dimensions And Port Size, Could They? I'd Seriously Like...Appreciate It. Also Specs For A Square Port Or A Slot Port, And How You Make A Square One. I Suppose Its Just A Hole In The Box Panel? The Sub Is Firing Up, Port Firing Back.

Hello, there are two Fi Q10d2 and the amplifier DC 5.0K, in 0,5 Ohms, Xs power d1200+d3400 accumulators (44Ah and 65Ah). Advise the optimum volume and the port area under this system? Palaniry to begin with 48 liters pure and port in 250 squares, tune to of 36-38 Hz and reducing to have a look at changes. The car, Ford Focus 2 a hatch-back, the purpose to receive is more than figures on music. Thanks in advance for councils and comments. I am sorry for my English))

How are you guys/gals fitting such long ports that are necessary for the Q12 into not very large boxes (1.8-2.5 cuf). I am designing a ported box for my single Q12. (2.2ish cuf @ 32ish hz) I am looking at a 6" port that is around 30 inches long. Is everyone using slot ports with multiple bends? I am not looking to compete or steal any secret designs. I am just looking for suggestions of what other people are doing to port the Q12. Thanks.

I'm looking for someone (Scott? Nick? Just anyone that knows what they're doing) to help me get together a box design (cut sheets, etc)... I plan on running the Q for a little while in a sealed box I built that is right at 2.6 cubes (after sub displacement), but want to build a ported box later so it will hit the lows better. I have no problem with building it, that is easy for me, I just need a good design that is tuned to a certain Hz. I want it to sound good, but be louder from the outside than it will be sealed. Would 32 Hz be a good "middle of the road" tune? The box is going to go in the floor of an ext. cab '01 silverado (still has the backseat, just leaving it up…

  16. I have two Fi 12" old x series woofers the ones sold on the black fiday special. My question is, what is the recomended enclosure volume per speaker for a ported box? I have had them in a sealed 1 cubic foot per sub box since I bought them on black friday. Which has been ok for the time being, but I have moved to a hotter climate, and need a ported box to help cool the woofers as well as get the most spl out of the woofers.

Already have a ported box for the sis as I built it last week with the purchase of these subs in mind, but just read the pinned thread about the Qs. I listen to everything from avenged sevenfold to maroon 5 to jack Johnson to lil Wayne and kirko bangz. So I really am Looking for a setup that "does it all" and sounds good while doing it. A lot of music other than rap spuds muddy and sloppy on my current RE SeX 12s (prefab and custom enclosures) and just haven't been happy with the sound. Everything kind of runs together. With that being said, how will I like these subs? Current box is at 33 hz with approx 1.9 cubes per sub in the trunk; subs up, port facing forward on the …

I just ordered my 2 12's with BP power option...just for good measure. I'm gonna have a T20001bd on em. I want to port em. How do you think 1.8 cubes ported to 32Hz for each sub would sound? Do I need to push for 2 cubes? I don't have much room in my car...but here's a pic of the trunk space I have with my previous setup. That was just 2 JL 10w3v3's I'm thinking of running the boxes along the side where the old ones were. So how would 1.8 sound? Still jam the subs hard, or do I need to go for 2 cubes or even more? More than 2 would be pretty tough, but I wanna build the fiberglass boxes once...gonna be alot of work.

Can a pair of Fi Q15's be ported and tuned to 30hz in a properly sized enclosure, if my max external dimensions are 22" (d) x 19" (h) x 38.5" (w)? Less height and depth if possible... I was planning on running them sealed, since I know they have great lowend sealed, but if I can still have great lows with more output, I want to got for that. This is for a Dodge Magnum. My goal is to have the most output while maintaining a somewhat flat response, with the gut twisting lowend.

Hey I own a 03 Tiburon GT and am planing on putting in 2 12" BLTs with 2 SAZ-3000ds. I want to compete in SPL but also want to be able to listen to music (not as important). What type of box should i get ported or seal and should I get a wall or will it just be a waste of wood. I don't want to do a wall unless it will boost me db. Thanks for the help, I don't have a clue what to do.

I have a dual 1 ssd sub with the copper coil option in a 1.1 sealed box powered by an audioque 1200d. And im wanting more deeper bass and louder but trying to keep inline with my sq setup. Would a sealed enclouser with more power? Do I port the sub and keep the same power? If i would port the box what cubes would u guys recommend? The space want to put it is 15.25H x 12D x 31.5W these numbers dont included the thickness of the wood and the double baffle. I could put it in a different place if i cant get it to fit.. And What freq would u tune the port? Thanks for the help in advanced.

Well I've finally decided to stop being lazy and put my BL in my truck but I ran into a problem while figuring out the port length. I have a 12" BL and I want to put it in a 2.5^2 ft. box tuned to 32 Hz. To do this with 2 4" aero ports they are gonna have to be about 24" I would just do slotted but since the box has to be slanted down on the top and up on the bottom I'm not sure how that would work. So I'm wondering if i could just use one 4" aero or if there are any other thing I can do to make this work. Thanks

Should the ports be on the same side as sub is on or not? I want my BTL's to fire up and the ports to fire up to. Does it matter where the port is on the box? Would it hit harder with the subs and port towards the back of my excursion? Thanks...

Well right now im running one 15 Fi Q in the trunk of my civic. The box is around 3.2 after displacement and tunned around 33. I got it ran off a memphis 1000D. It sounds pretty good but i was thinking about doubling my power and getting another 15 Q. Problem is i barely have enough room for one in my trunk. My civic is not my daily driver and i was possibly thinking about walling it and running 2 15Q's off of 2000rms. I was just wondering everyones opinions on this? Would it be worth walling with that power and how do u think it would sound in a good built box. Any help or sugestions would be appreciated, figured i would get some opinions before deciding on this, thanks
