Also im still not sure on what enclosure i want to make for them. i have run sealed in the past but not sure if i should go for ported with these. Thanks in advance.

How much power should i put on a BTL 18 if i plan on running it for fairly decent lengths of time, 15-30min, at high volume. Is 4.5kw too much for that kinda usage... It'll be in a rather tight ported box

I was wondering if someone could help me with box size/measurements. I have a Ford Explorer, I am going to be running a Sundown 3000d with this(Dual 1 BTL 18"). Space I have available, 40in Wide|30in High|75 deep(I don't use this area at all so it can be as big as it has to be).

Hey guys I have a question about the Q series woofers: a 12 Q in a ported box or a 15 Q in a sealed box is what I am debating now given a 2.5 ft box for either one: 1.) which will be louder? 2.) which will play lower? 3.) which will have better SQ for rock?

  8. The tech page says the cooling option increases power handling by 200-500 watts depending on install and scenario. Would I be wrong in guessing a sealed enclosure (in the neighborhood of 1.2 cu ft) would put it towards the higher end of that increase estimate?

ok, just installed my new 15qd2 with bp today. 4.8 cuft ported at 28 hz...rockford p1000-1bd. yes thing slams louder then i could have imagined. only one problem. i think i will be able to get rid of most of the trunk rattle, but it's the sunroof then driving me nuts. i need to get an sd card reader to load some pics and vids from my phone... every time i start playing some really low notes, the sunroof starts banging so bad that's about all i hear inside. anyone have this issue or know how to fix it? any ideas would be great! oh yes it's a 99' infiniti i30.

Does the copper option affect (lower?) the power handling? Since the flatwind increases power handling, decreases SQ, and the copper increases SQ a bit, the copper must have some kind of trade off, which I was thinking was a loss of power handling. Just wondering, Trevor

So since my order still hasn't shipped after 10 business days, I might as well make sure my box dimensions are correct. Going with a 3.5 cube ft box tuned ~32 Hz Port is 17" by 3" and 37 inches long Anyone see anything wrong with this? Thanks.

Other than thiele small params and the small pics, it's hard to know all of the differences.... the Q has a smaller pole vent? larger magnets? The single 2 ohm IB3 is a 2 layer coil, the Q is 4 layer. The Q's Fs isn't much higher than the IB3's and the motor doesn't seem tooo much bigger.... IF I had the extra $$$ at the time I would have gotten a Q because it would have been much better for my application, I could have gotten the dual 1 ohm coils and ran my Lanzar OPTI2000D at .5 ohm and everything would have been GREAT. But I only had enough for the IB3, and so I let the lower Fs and higher Xmax ease my mind about doing what i had to do. If I could go back in time, I k…

what are the mounting depths and displacements of btl's when you get the extra magnet? i tried the search but nothing comes up. also, it would be nice to have it all in one place for future reference. *edit*..... i just read that you guys are releasing a new btl. in any case what are the mounting depths of both new and old?

  18. Hello, I need help on the port volume. I have a 15" bl with a 1500.1 kicker mono amp and Will be building a 4 cubic foot box and would like it tuned to like 35 hz. I don't understand what 12-16 square inches per cubic foot means in the recomendations. I have always used/seen cubic inches for a port valume. so if someone could "please" help me out asap that would be great. Thanks alot. Farris.

Hopefully someone can help. I found a 3hp motor, but it only has the 4 bolt layout where the basket secures. I've seen a few of these motors rebuilt w/ fi softparts so i know it can be done. My question is what cone assembly, or coils and spiders should I get (assuming I use FI) to make it perform similar to an eclipse TI? Also, what basket should I use, or is there one that I can use with a four bolt pattern? I need some guidance and am a little knew to this so bare with me please, and maybe a price range so I know what I'm getting into. Thanks for the help. Also, when do the new woven tinsels come into production, and will all products be switched to this? It's …

Hello, I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to assist me with my first enclosure build. I created an enclosure in Torres that seems to meet my needs, but I am not quite sure if there is enough port area for these subwoofers. Being a long time lurker, I know the people here are quite knowledgeable, so I figured I would throw it out there to see if it will work, or if it needs to be changed up. Here is the screenshot for what I have worked up so far in Torres: Does that seem good enough for port area? This is going in the trunk of a 2004 Toyota Corolla. The dimensions for height and width are the max that I can get away with for front firing subs. If …
