ok, just installed my new 15qd2 with bp today. 4.8 cuft ported at 28 hz...rockford p1000-1bd. yes thing slams louder then i could have imagined. only one problem. i think i will be able to get rid of most of the trunk rattle, but it's the sunroof then driving me nuts. i need to get an sd card reader to load some pics and vids from my phone... every time i start playing some really low notes, the sunroof starts banging so bad that's about all i hear inside. anyone have this issue or know how to fix it? any ideas would be great! oh yes it's a 99' infiniti i30.

Hi, I am thinking of getting an SSD motor used and reconing it. I was wanting to know if they are a universal motor and could put either a d2 or d1 recone on it, or am I stuck with what ever impedance that came on the ssd when it was 1st made. thanks

  5. So I just bought my new car, a toyota celica, and I am going to have a custom box built for my q 18. with a kicker zx750, how many cubic feet should I go for? I am looking for a flat frequency responce and a good balance of sq and spl. I know these are all really rough terms but I just could use some advice.

  6. The tech page says the cooling option increases power handling by 200-500 watts depending on install and scenario. Would I be wrong in guessing a sealed enclosure (in the neighborhood of 1.2 cu ft) would put it towards the higher end of that increase estimate?

what is the recommended port area for ssd's? box will be around 5 cubes tuned to around 33hz. 1 port 5" wide 20.75" long would give me 75 square inches. and 4.5" wide 17.25" long is 67.5. is one better that the other? and y? also just curious how much does a 12" SSD weigh and a 12" Q?

How much power should i put on a BTL 18 if i plan on running it for fairly decent lengths of time, 15-30min, at high volume. Is 4.5kw too much for that kinda usage... It'll be in a rather tight ported box

A buddy of mine has an Orion amp, I'm not sure on the model of it but it's a 2400 watt amp and the yellow ecp light I think it is comes on and there is no output from the sub so I'm just kind of wondering what the ecp light is for and why it is on.

Will a 3.1 cuft enclosure (after all displacement) tuned to 38 hz work for a 15" Fi Q? With the size of my truck, this is the largest box that i could fit in there. How will this work?

  12. ok, I'm about to attempt to build my first enclosure for Fi Q 12. 1.9ft ^3 tuned 30hz. Where can I get demensions and what items do I need. Such as brands of glue, type of screws, etc. If I Take mesurements to Home Depo, Will they cut the pieces for me? Is it difficult to make a Enclosure, I read that its pretty easy.

I'm looking at a BTL15, because I've heard good things. But until I get enough, I would probably be running 1 Sundown 1500d on the BTL15. If I got it optioned out, would it be able to handle a pair of strapped 1500d's? How much can a optioned daily driver BTL handle?

OK well, apparently the I didnt have a clean enough cut and the glue didnt hold my 1in thick dowels very well. The bass eventually flexed the fudge out of them. One came off and the other, well snapped... I noticed ever since around that time, the sub hits, but not as hard. Like its loud, but i used to have trouble breathing in or talking. Now I dont. Could the bracing have something to do with this since the box is flexing so much without it? Just a question is all. Didnt plan on replacing it.

Hey I'm hoping to have a Sonic FX Q 12" very soon (assuming DHL can find it ) I was wondering if you guys could recone it in the worst cast scenario were it gets blown??? It is very similar (practically the same thing) to Incriminator Audio's Death Penalty series, (in case you don't recognize the sub). I was just wondering what soft parts you would use in reconing it??? BTL, BL, Q ???? If you need more info on the sub let me know and I'll try and find it for ya. Thanks! Jon

  16. Hello, I need help on the port volume. I have a 15" bl with a 1500.1 kicker mono amp and Will be building a 4 cubic foot box and would like it tuned to like 35 hz. I don't understand what 12-16 square inches per cubic foot means in the recomendations. I have always used/seen cubic inches for a port valume. so if someone could "please" help me out asap that would be great. Thanks alot. Farris.

  17. So i just ordered my 15" BL sub, and im getting it soon and cant wait, but im kind of stuck on what amp to run it off. I was looking at the Kicker ZX 1500 amp, using all Monster cables to power it. however, before i spend my money on this amp, i want to be sure that it will be the right amp? is there any other amp that could be better for me to get around the same price as the kicker amp? i rlly want my sub to pound, but sound good at the same time. thanks alot to anyone who helps me out

I have a 95 single cab Nissan pickup and want to put 1 10" SSD back there. I have buckets seats with about 10 1/2 - 11" of room between them don't have exact demensions and limited room behind the seats. If I have enough room I want a ported box but will use a sealed box due to the limited space. I also want to have a center console.

I should be getting my new ssd 12 soon and a alpine amp that pushes 1krms at 2 ohms. I was wondering if the sub will handle 1k without any problems. I usually dont have my radio blasting 24/7 (but like to show off for a song or two) and most of the time im listening to rock/metal. It will be in a sealed box and i got no options on it but Hqts. So the real question is can i run the amp all the way up (gains set correctly) or should i run about 3/4 level. Thanks for the help.

I currently have a wall in my car for 6 12s in a bandpass and I'm in the process of upgradeing my subs. My specs on the sealed chambers of my box are 3.69 cubes per side (three chambered box). Just wondering what subs would work best for a daily setup and to compete in bass boxing. Any advice would be helpfull. I'm getting new amps and waiting to get subs before i buy amps

Need help with deciding on building enclosure for (2) 15" FI BTL. Going for ~36hz This is the amount of room i would like to use: Width = 36" (Max width due to wheel.) Height = 24" Depth = 22" Would be sound better if the sub face up or sub face back. Also the same question apply to the port. All of this is going inside a SUV. What are your recommendation for the port? If the above measurement are small, please give me some recommendation. I would like to keep the box small but also sound good.

Looking to build new system. Planing on using a Memphis 2500 watt amp to each sub. This system will be mostly for SPL but also some daily listening. Will be using 10" or 12" subs. Just wondering which Fi sub would work best. Will start with 2 subs but move to 3 at a later time and maybe a Memphis Mojo 4kw to each also.
