The recommended box volume for a sealed enclosure is 4-8 cubic feet. Is there much of a difference in sound quality from 4-8? What exactly would be the benefits and disadvantages of having the volume be 4 cubic feet to 8? What about 5 6 7? So far what I could gather is there would be less low-end with the smaller box volume but the bass would be more detailed. Is this necessarily true? I have trued modeling the a box with WinISD but it didn't seem very useful to me. Also, would adding polyester fiberfill be useful in a larger volume box? Thanks!

So I have a problem I am getting ready to make a ported box for my BTL 12 that is fully loaded. my big question is how do I tune my port to 32hz? the dimensions are 18w x 14h x 20d which comes out to be 2.20812 cubic feet. can I please get some help and advice I used a slot port calc but I guess the port length looked funny to me. I am looking for more SQ so i figured i would go sealed. But since i have a larger space, should i go ported? I want tight-punchy bass, I like feelin some of the high bass. My current box is huge and ported, so i think this would be the right change (sealed). Thanks

Well, After serching the forum, I have found what is included in a recone kit, but now its time for the questions. I was woundering what a 18" Dual 2 ohm BTL recone with flatwind coil will cost. Also I have never done a recone before but I beleive I do have the logic, and patience to do one, but would I be better of just sending in the motor and basket for a recone? Would it cost the same for a recone kit as it would to send in the sub (Shipping not taken into consideration here)

im just wondering if it would be possible to have softparts assembled to work on a fosgate power hx2? i can take exact measurements if needed, but from what i can see so far it has a 4" dual 2 ohm coil and an 8" spider like i said though i can take better measurements of everything if you guys can help me out on this one. btw i have tried contacting RF direct and they stopped making softparts for this particular sub seeing as though its over 3 years old.] TIA chris

My enclosure is 3.5 cuft after all displacement tuned to 32hz using two 4" tube ports each 15" long. I also will be using a memphis 1500d (1500 watts at 2 ohms). Does all that sound good? Any advice on what options I should add to the sub when ordering? Thanks guys I appreciate it.

Just like the title says, I'm planning on getting an Fi Q12, dual 1 ohm with BP power. I was planning on running it off of this at 2 ohms. Will this power it properly? Also, will I need to do any electrical upgrades such as the big three upgrade or a red top battery under the hood? As of now, I'm running off of my stock alternator which puts out 120a and my stock battery. Thanks for the help, -schmizzle
