Hello all, I have a 1999 GMC Yukon that I use on weekends to travel to sporting clays shoots. This truck will never be used in a Audio competition just two semi deaf old guys(36 an 38) like to play it loud. The current system is: Subwoofers and speakers 1 JL 18w3 2 Jl 10w0s 4 Infinity 6.5s Amps Kenwood 9104D (powering the 18) Alpine MRP-M500 (powering the 10s) Alpine MRP-F300 (powering the 6.5s) Other Two batteries high output alternator "big 3" This "system" does okay but we are getting a little bored with it. Does the copper option affect (lower?) the power handling? Since the flatwind increases power handling, decreases SQ, and the copper increases SQ a bit, the copper must have some kind of trade off, which I was thinking was a loss of power handling. Just wondering, Trevor

Hello, I need help on the port volume. I have a 15" bl with a 1500.1 kicker mono amp and Will be building a 4 cubic foot box and would like it tuned to like 35 hz. I don't understand what 12-16 square inches per cubic foot means in the recomendations. I have always used/seen cubic inches for a port valume. so if someone could "please" help me out asap that would be great. Thanks alot. Farris.

need help with port length for a box for 2 18" ssds. current box is 48 x 24 x 24 external, 46.5 x 3" slot port tuned to 32Hz. I want to build a bigger box with a bigger port. What would be the port length for 48 x 24 x 31 external with a 46.5 x 4" port tuned to 31Hz.

What can i do to stop the screws from coming out the box holding the sub in

i have 2 jl w7's 12inch, that are both froze, is it possible to recone them with FI recone kit? i was kinda new to this recone stuff sorry, if you can help me i would appreciate it, i would actually rather ship it to FI but i cant ever get ahold of anyone. thanks

If anyone could draw me up some designs for 1 15" bl send me a MSG and I'll give u measurements of my trunk. Website says 3-5 cubic foot.. So shuld I go 3 4 or 5? Wuld it fck with the sub if I went bigger or smaller then reccomended? I was lookin at sme pro boxes and this one is 3.87 Cft. Any1 reccomend pro boxes or would I be better off gettin one made?

I currently have a wall in my car for 6 12s in a bandpass and I'm in the process of upgradeing my subs. My specs on the sealed chambers of my box are 3.69 cubes per side (three chambered box). Just wondering what subs would work best for a daily setup and to compete in bass boxing. Any advice would be helpfull. I'm getting new amps and waiting to get subs before i buy amps

What is the Xmax with this option? I only see the 28mm on their website and I assume this is without this option.

ok here it goes... and you know i have 2 15 fully loaded bl's dual 1's.... i have the + from one coil to the - on the other coil... on both subs... then + from one sub to the + on the other sub... then the same for the -... from there to the amp...... i should be at 1 ohms correct? or did i mess up should i have gotten dual 2's heres why i ask... im sitting some where around .8 ohms.... not 1. not 1.3.. but .8 thats with the resestance of my ohm, meter the resestance of my meter alone is .1...... so by my messed up math that should put me at 1.1... but hey maybe im wrong...... the reason i am so scared... ok here goes i shopped for months for subs and an amp.....…

I was planing to make a box for my BL 15... but i have a few ideas.. whats the diffrents from the sub facing toward the rear of the vehical? Vs. The sub faced up ward toward the trunk lid? and what is a good tuneing for the sub? 35hz? 32hz? or 30hz? i have a 1500 rms amp... and i listen to rap and metal.. rap most of the time...

i have around 900wts at 2 ohms looking to do a single 15" ported box. listen to rap and classic rock. which would work best a Q or ssd wth copper vc.

It is 6.5 cufeet internally tuned to 30hz with 111 inches of port area. What is your guys thoughts on it? to much/to little port area? not enough room inside the box? just post what you think on it.

my buddy has a 18 btl the old style 3 mag. we took it out one day and the tinsel has been slaping on the spider and put holes in them. the box its in is 4.5 cuft and tuned to 32hz with 1800watt on it. i glued some t-shirt on the spiders hoping it will help my main question is does the recone come like the new style with the tinsel under the spiders?

Well, After serching the forum, I have found what is included in a recone kit, but now its time for the questions. I was woundering what a 18" Dual 2 ohm BTL recone with flatwind coil will cost. Also I have never done a recone before but I beleive I do have the logic, and patience to do one, but would I be better of just sending in the motor and basket for a recone? Would it cost the same for a recone kit as it would to send in the sub (Shipping not taken into consideration here)

when people talk about tuning their ports to 33HZ and stuff is that based on the size of the port. Also could i run 2 12" SSD subs on a hifonics amp putttin out 1500RMS or should i get one that puts out 2000RMS.

Ive been looking for a "special" basket for my 05 15 XXX woofers for a while and i was wondering if FI would be able to help me out? I know all you guys use are the 12 spoke but i was wondering if you had anything different could make somethign different or knew where i could get something different? (other then the 12 spoke or the 6 spoke DD design) Im honestly in love with the last generation of the fosgate punch HX2 baskets but since its been some time since they sold that woofer i havent been able to pick any up.... im running a hifonics bxi1206 on a fi ssd 15. im just wondering and have some questions about tuning the amp. can someone tell me like how i should adjust the amp and let it play loud but safely. what is the subsonic filter ? does it need to be all the way up or all the way down? im kinda lost on some of this....

I am debating if I should dampen the custom box when I get my 12 fi bl 2ohm. Also what do you guys think about powering it with a PDX 1.1000 at 4ohm ~1229 rms?

alrighty fellas i've decided to go with a 18'' btl-n2 and my truck is a 2000 gmc sierra ext cab long bed. i know the rear seat is gonna be gone i am planning on pushing the 18 with a soundstream dtr3400 and a ported box tuned around 32 hz so if anyone can reccomend enclosure specs i beleive my dimensions with the back seat out are 54'' long , 34'' tall, 24'' deep. if any body can help me out i greatly appreaciate it

I am planning on buying a BL 12" sub with all the trimmings for xmas... my mom recently bought me a BXI1606D Hifonics amp.... will this be too much power for this sub? i really hope not! =( any input would really help thanks in advance!!
