Hey everyone Just a really simple question. The enclosure measurements for Fi speakers, are they measured before woofer displacement? Just need to clarify so I can build an optimal box with maximum air space.Thanks again!

What is the best option setup on a BTL for SPL use only and how much power will they take for Burps only?

Hey, just contemplating buying a Fi Q 12" off someone and he claims it is "Fully-Loaded" and after asking him is there is any proof of it being fully-loaded he said no. He then said now that he thinks of it, he's not sure if they are, as he only got told that when he bought them off someone else. So, is there any way we can verify if they are fully-loaded or not? Say a Imprinted serial number somewhere and you might have that particular build in your files somewhere and you can see if they were upgraded? Oh he has 2 for sale, thats why i said "If they are fully-loaded or not"....my mate might get the other one!! Thanks, Regards.. Craig

The Fi.BL is being shipped now and i want to know how big 10 cubic ft. is.because the specs says 5-10 cubic ft. so i was going to get the enclosure built to 10 cubic ft. Is 10 cubic ft. good for that sub for max bass and Hitting Good Low low notes or should i stick to the 7-8 cubic ft. range?? P.S.:Space is not a option so you dont have to ask that?These are the options:dual 2ohm,cooling,flatwind coil,daily. How much inches wide & tall should the port be for this monster???? Thanks Guys:)

How are you guys/gals fitting such long ports that are necessary for the Q12 into not very large boxes (1.8-2.5 cuf). I am designing a ported box for my single Q12. (2.2ish cuf @ 32ish hz) I am looking at a 6" port that is around 30 inches long. Is everyone using slot ports with multiple bends? I am not looking to compete or steal any secret designs. I am just looking for suggestions of what other people are doing to port the Q12. Thanks.

Hey guys, i need help with a box design and unfortunately im strapped on time. If someone could help me out with some plans with these specs i would be greatly in debt. Box is for 2 12's ( .15 displacement per) tuned to 32hz - slot port centered on box double baffle 3.6 cubic ft total 36w x 16h x ??d I need the width and height to stay at 36 and 16. I tried using subwoofertools.com but the program wouldn't give me 36x16x?? but rather 32.5 x 16 x 23.5 or something. Once again if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All, So I've had my two 12" SSDs in a sealed box, 1 cu ft chamber for each sub, for almost a year now hooked up to a Sundown 1500D. It seems like I don't get the lows like I would expect and I'd like it to be a little louder. Do you think it would help to build a ported box for these guys to see if I can squeak anything else out of them, or is it possible that these subs just don't fit my wants? Thanks.

Looking at building sub box for BL 18 also considering possibly running 2 BL 18s and wondering minimum cu ft for both in the one box ported box-- is L=3' W=2' H= 1.5' i did the calculation right im sure but just wanna double check thatll be enough cu ft hey Thanks

I'm looking for someone (Scott? Nick? Just anyone that knows what they're doing) to help me get together a box design (cut sheets, etc)... I plan on running the Q for a little while in a sealed box I built that is right at 2.6 cubes (after sub displacement), but want to build a ported box later so it will hit the lows better. I have no problem with building it, that is easy for me, I just need a good design that is tuned to a certain Hz. I want it to sound good, but be louder from the outside than it will be sealed. Would 32 Hz be a good "middle of the road" tune? The box is going to go in the floor of an ext. cab '01 silverado (still has the backseat, just leaving it up…

what would be a good box for 2 15" bl series subs.

So I'm in need of a box for my Bl 15 in my scion tc.. I was going to get one built and shipped to me but it will take too long. Went to my local shop today, and they had one box for a 15". He said it was around 3.2 cubes which i guess is ok. Asked him what its tuned to and he didnt have a clue, said around 44 or something, which i would think is too high for the BL as i was shooting for 33hz. The box is carpeted, and higher up on the end where the sub goes in. Has two small ports in the sides. Price is $180. What im wondering is if the tuning really matters, and if it will sound like shit if i use this box?

hello i purchased an 18 inch btl fL in june and 1 tinsle lead has broken off... i resoldered it 2 times and now its too short.. i was wondering how i could go about doing this now. do you guys have a tinsle lead kit i could buy from you guys or something, or would i need to buy a recone kit... if so i would like to do the the cheapest option. please help thanks in advance

I scored 2 15"q's of ebay for 405$ So im in the process of designing a new box for them. My box total after speaker and bracing displacement is 11.488cuft. So i need about 137-183 inches of port area. I was thinking a 9inx20in port 25.84 inches long for 30hz. That would leave me 8.798cuft after all displacement with 180 inches of port area. Does this sound good? If not what would you reccomend?

I was just wondering if it was possible to replace the push terminals on the BTL with the terminals you need a hex key to open and close, could someone also tell me what gauge wire will fit in the push terminals. I don't have it yet, I'm just asking if its possible.

so i hooked up my sub and amp. its a dual 1 ohm 12" q to a jl 1000.1 and it sounds like poo. i get a slapping sound even with the bass almost all the way down and the volume not even half way up. i havent tuned a jl amp before and theres all sorts of knobs and switches and what not, the box is sealed and around 1.2ft ^3 after the sub displacement. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Just like the title says, I'm planning on getting an Fi Q12, dual 1 ohm with BP power. I was planning on running it off of this at 2 ohms. Will this power it properly? Also, will I need to do any electrical upgrades such as the big three upgrade or a red top battery under the hood? As of now, I'm running off of my stock alternator which puts out 120a and my stock battery. Thanks for the help, -schmizzle

I am planning on buying a BL 12" sub with all the trimmings for xmas... my mom recently bought me a BXI1606D Hifonics amp.... will this be too much power for this sub? i really hope not! =( any input would really help thanks in advance!!

Ok here is my question, If I cut the circle out to the circle in the specs will the SSD fit in there ok? If not what size should I make the circle. Here is the plans (I changed up the baffle so it would not be between both sides) Pics:

I will be playing them daily. Does anyone know where these options are explained so that I can decide what to choose and why?

Well, here's the deal. I've been running my 15" Q in a sealed box for the last month or so and I am wanting to build a ported box for it sometime soon and need help getting a design together. I have no problem building stuff, I'm just no good at getting something together that will be right for my application (right ft^3, right port size, cut sizes, etc.). Below is a pic. of the largest outside dimensions I can possibly go with. The 4" rise is to clear the tranny hump (it's going in an ext. cab silverado.) I'm wanting something tuned to ~33 hz or so. I don't compete and would like a SQ/LOUD SOUND QUALITY setup and am having the hardest time designing a box to use. Obviously Fi recommends a sealed enclosure and that's what I was going to do originally until I started playing around in WinISD. Now I'm completely unsure so I figured I'd ask you guys. How do you guys think a 12" Fi Q would sound in a 2.3 cu ft enclosure tuned to 24-25hz as opposed to a 1.3 cu ft sealed enclosure? I can't upload the WinISD output on my current connection but I will after midnight when I get home.

I'm going to order four 10 " Q's to be mounted sealed each connected to it's own Alpine PDX 1.1000 , ( all 4 were benched at 1200 RMS ) , my question is BP power or no BP power , i have seen posts where they were said to perform wonderfully under 1000 watts , and many more that stated they could take more , so i'm confused as to if i should BP them or nt please answer , thank you

I have 2 rockford P2 15" d on a TMA amplifier 500.1 in a 4.5 Cu. Ft. Box ported. I'm in the process to get 2 Bl 12" d2 and I need the know if the HIFONICS BRUTUS BXi2608D will be a good option (cheap one) in a 5.0Cu. Ft. This will go in the trunk of a Toyota Yaris 5 door. Where can I find some box cutouts for the old school black fiday x series 12". Can I use the new X cut outs or can I use the ssa dcon 12 cut outs. the dcons look like they are the same as the black fiday 12".
