Hey guys, I've been messing around with ideas for my subwoofer and I have a way maybe that'll help with my predicament. Currently, I have a 1995 Honda Accord Sedan and the 18" is to big I believe to fit in rear facing. Currently I have it horizontally mounted. However...after looking through some of the build logs, I am debating about whether doing a slanted box or not. My question to you guys is, what types of effects will I see of this? Ideally, I wanted to do it rear facing. But i dont think that will happen. So i've compromised with it angled. it will still be around a 5 cu ft box and about a 60 degree angle the subw ill be mounted on. Any big difference you guys thin…

  2. ok here it goes... and you know i have 2 15 fully loaded bl's dual 1's.... i have the + from one coil to the - on the other coil... on both subs... then + from one sub to the + on the other sub... then the same for the -... from there to the amp...... i should be at 1 ohms correct? or did i mess up should i have gotten dual 2's heres why i ask... im sitting some where around .8 ohms.... not 1. not 1.3.. but .8 thats with the resestance of my ohm, meter the resestance of my meter alone is .1...... so by my messed up math that should put me at 1.1... but hey maybe im wrong...... the reason i am so scared... ok here goes i shopped for months for subs and an amp.....…

I need some help with the dimensions of my slot port before I go ahead and make a disaster. I have a 15" SSD in a 3.8 cuft box. I'd like to tune it to 33Hz as per Fi's recommendation Using one of those online calculators I got the following dimensions 3"H x 6"W x 5.22 L Does that look right? How would that be affected if I wanted to make 2 ports? Any help would be appreciated

I have a pair of 10" BL's. I'm running these with an MA Audio HK4000D, I've been running it at 2 ohms so they'd get about 1900 watts each. I'm planning to drop the ohm load to .5 and send them more power, at least 2500 watts each. What would the recommended enclosure size be for this increased power? I'll figure out the ports and such after but I want to know what size enclosure would be right for that amount of power.

I broke one of the terminals on my BL 10" yesterday when I was pulling it out of its box. The tinsels are fine and the sub is still working perfectly. But the terminal is moving up and down! I am thinking it is going to start vibrating once it gets moving! I dont know how Fi had it secured, I am thinking it was glued down, if so, what kind of glue should I use to reglue it?

Does the sub come with aluminum or copper coils? sorry if theres a thread about this but i looked on the site and couldnt find a difinitive answer on this. Also what exactly does the BP power option do, does it effect the sound of the sub whatsoever or is it something just to help with thermal capabilities of the driver? thanks in advance.

This is the graph i got from WinISD volume is 5.4 port is 4* 8 * 11 (dont know if thats the right port size or not. I would like it tuned around 32Hz) http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee29/mld42/FiBL.jpg This is a very rough sketch of the box to show where the ports could go. The sub with be mounted inverted for more box volume. I have 2 12's now in a sealed box, but would like something louder, and I have a BL 18 dual 2 that im not using so I am trying to fit it in my truck. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee29/mld42/Blbox.jpg And is there any way to extend the port out of the box rather than porting the inside. I havnt seen this done so I dont know if it wil…

Hey guys, im from maximum threshold, my team captain has been waiting for a reply from scott about recones for my MT that we need for db drag world finals. Is there any way one of you can speed up the process a bit or maybe we can talk to another one of ya about it? We are in dire need of the recones and our trip to finals depends on it. Its a dual 1.4 ohm recone for an MT. Scott will know what im talking about as he's been emailing back and forth with Peter for a while, but as of late the emails have stopped. Thanks for any help you guys can give us. Don Doyle Team Maximum Threshold

Hey guys, as the topic says I have a problem with a SSD 12... the spider feels very weak in a spot like there is a crack under the top one. So my question is will it be fine to run like that? (i don't know how long its been that way but it worked fine till the day I took it out) or do I need a recone so it doesn't get any worse? Thanks

  22. i came up on a deal. both subs are 15" BL's, both have cooling, flatwind, and the daily option. 1 however has extreme leads, and the other has regular leads. will this cause problems between the drivers or is it ok to run them together? i know the extremem leads can cause slapping, but is that the only downfall?

My personal car is a 1991 Honda Prelude and I've been dreaming up ways of upgrading the system from its rather small old rockford p2 set up(old school black and red coned rockford p2s). The car is small, the trunk is even smaller, comparable to a mustang trunk. The trunk opening is much like a mustang, opens like a lid with rather small clearances. I'm thinking of putting a dual BL 12" set up in it, building the box inside the trunk to achieve hopefully around 4 square feet. The rear seats are gone, so there is an opening to the trunk, would it sound good to place the port in that opening? I know not to cover a port but I've never heard anything rather direction or place…

So, now that my friends vehicle is out of my hair, I have a quick question about mine. I listen to almost pure rap, love it. I love SPL big time, all the vibrations, shaking of the vehicle, etc. Would a 12" ported BTL be the best bet for me? It is obviously going in a car, so room is..well, eh. Or would something like a couple Q's be better in the long run? Right now, I am considering the single BTL. Now this is gonna be a stupid one for ya, which Fi sub compares to RF T1's? I have a dispute that continues now and am curious. Thanks....hope I win this fight, lol.
