I want to build a box for an fi ssd 10. Should I go ported or sealed. I'm leaning towards ported. I could use some box design help and any suggestions. I'm waiting on my brz 2100 to show up until I order the sub but wana get going on box designs

Hi, I'm about to order an 18" btl I just got done going through the options i'm bit confused as to what ohm to get I want to run it at 1ohm the amp ill be using is a HCCA-D5000 monoblock my qustion is should I get a duel 2ohm and run it in parallel or what? how would I wire the sub if it was duel 1ohm, split the pos and neg in the box and hook up all the turmanals?

I bought 2 used UFO motors and they are different motors completely. The one has "cuts" in the side around the slug in the black part and the other is just smooth.plus they seem to be different sizes? I already ordered the single slug recones. Are they OK to use together

Hi All, So I've had my two 12" SSDs in a sealed box, 1 cu ft chamber for each sub, for almost a year now hooked up to a Sundown 1500D. It seems like I don't get the lows like I would expect and I'd like it to be a little louder. Do you think it would help to build a ported box for these guys to see if I can squeak anything else out of them, or is it possible that these subs just don't fit my wants? Thanks.

Ok so im about to order 2 12" Fi Qs and just want to know what setup i should get. im thinkin on getting a JBL GTO14001 amp for it, is that ok? also... i need to know if i should get an extra battery or cap for it, if so what kind?

I need help with box specs. I have 4 BL 15's going in a 2003 tahoe. I want to face them up( at the roof) and have these measurements; 48 wide, 28 high, 36 deep. Can someone give me a box layout or cut sheet with port measurements to make this a winner. Daily playing tuned low 29-32hz please. Thanks in Advance.

i want to build a 4th order bp for 2 18 btl and im pretty unsure about how to calculate the port. the sealed chamber is 2* 3,3 cft and the ported one 1* 10 cft. how do i design the port? does 40 hz work well or is that too low? shall i make the port for 5 cft @ 40 hz and then double port area (because both woofers will play in one ported chamber)?

I am not entirely sure about box dimensions and all. I want forward facing subs. I know 15's will work, but wonder if I could manage an 18. These are going in the bed of my truck with a fiberglass flat shell on top. I am pretty sure the depth of the bed of the truck is 20 or 21". Would I be able to build a box that will fit in this for 18's, or is it way to tight?

I hope this is posted in right place.... Two questions: 1.) What is the RMS and peak wattage for a single 12" BL with the dual2, flatwind, daily and pchamfer options? The reason I am asking is because I seen on Fi 's site that it says 1000w/rms, but everyone is highly reccomending the sundown 1500d (which i am about to get.) So, why is that so if it is only rated for 1000watts? Does adding those options bring it up? I had a new custom box built by Sound Advice here in florida and the guy who was instlling it says to me that I will not notice too much of a difference in swithcing from a RF Punch 1000w/rms amp to a 1500 watt/rms amp ( in this case to the sundown 1500d)…

Hello, Today I pulled my Q12 from the box (Dual 2) and tested both voice coils. They seem to settle at about 1.4 to 1.5 ohm. Is this normal for a dual 2? *It has not seen power yet.

How big of box should i use for 2 15'' Bl's? (Space is NOT a limiting factor). Also i want to use 6 inch round ports tuned to 30-35 hz. how many would i need?

say you have ur port is it bad for it to be perfect for ex. a 10"hieght x 10"wide port pleases leave ur opions belowww thank youu

Well here are my dimensions for the blazer: Depth= 25" Width= 37" Height= 22" What kind of options do I have here? Like enclosure volume and tunning options. I was looking to use aeroports if possible... I would love it if I could get a 3-d look lol I suck at designing boxes... thanks

Could someone guide me on what size enclosure would be correct for the four of these big bad subs.They are 18 inch btl fully loaded. The customer would like a wall. The ruff dimensions are 35 inches tall, 45 inches wide, and @26 inches deep. Any help with the vent width,hieght,and length would be great.

Quick question...I've had my heart set on the 12" Q (after much reading on this and the BL) with my main intentions towards sound quality. Im putting this in my trunk of a jetta and my question is.....is the sound quality going to really be that prevalent through the back seats? Maybe i shouldve gone BL? thanks in advance

I'm looking at picking up 2 SSD's (15"), the box will be roughly 7 - 7.5 cubes. I would like to find out what the optimal size for the port. Still deciding between slot and aero, might need some suggestions there. Let me know the dimensions of the port you would use for mainly SPL in a 7.5 cube box. Thanks!

Alright before i buy a 10" Bl with cooling i need to make sure i know the mounting depth... the website says 6.25" but i heard you have to leave an extra .5" for the pole vent... in this case it would be 6.75" mounting depth. is this correct?

I got new 2 Fi 18's Q series unloaded, no options on them at all. whats the most amount of RMS power I can put on each one???? Im getting the Audiopipe 3000d amp and wiring them at 2 ohms and that would put 1500 rms on them.

so i know that i cant make a flatwind coil option motor match a copper coil but how about a stock ssd match a copper coil one. anyone?

Hey everyone. I'm in need of some plans for a ported enclosure for two 12" Fi SSDs (with copper coils if it matters). This will be my first box build...but I'm confident I can make a nice quality box. I'm just having some trouble coming up with some plans. Does anybody have some drawn up I can use for reference? Any help at all is greatly appreciated! Here's some info you all might need: I want the width to be 44 inches. So I'm new to car stereo and was hoping yall could help me out. I've been doing alot of research on subs and have decided on a 15" BL for my tahoe. Im wondering if yall could help me make some decisions on which options to chose for the sub itself and what kind of amp i would need to power it. I'm looking for some pretty hard hitting bass at some points, and at others i just like some good sounds. Thank yall for looking and for your opinion.

I posted on another thread about needing the addy to send a motor in for recone, just didn't want to assume its the website address.. Also is it possible to do a full poly cap on a 3hp 18" recone along the lines of the 10" full FI logo one I saw in a earlier thread, or maybe from a HAVOC 18" plain?? I have two Fi 12" old x series woofers the ones sold on the black fiday special. My question is, what is the recomended enclosure volume per speaker for a ported box? I have had them in a sealed 1 cubic foot per sub box since I bought them on black friday. Which has been ok for the time being, but I have moved to a hotter climate, and need a ported box to help cool the woofers as well as get the most spl out of the woofers.
