I'm looking at picking up 2 SSD's (15"), the box will be roughly 7 - 7.5 cubes. I would like to find out what the optimal size for the port. Still deciding between slot and aero, might need some suggestions there. Let me know the dimensions of the port you would use for mainly SPL in a 7.5 cube box. Thanks!

Got my bl today, went to bolt it into the box and noticed that the holes in the gasket don't go all the way through. I can see the holes on the bottom then the lip that comes off of the surround goes over the whole and blocks it. Do i drill through it?

I have a 04 Ford Expedition, i have built a enclosure behind the 3rd row seat, what i have is 2.46 cu ft, I would prefer a sealed enclosure, I know this is large for sealed, but i can shrink it if needed, my question is: should i go smaller ? It is powered by a Crossfire VR 1000d, I listen to mostly music like: Slayer, Exodus, I also listen to alot of classic rock, metal, punk, etc...ever so often I will play a few bass cd's I have from the days I did dB Drag shows. I've tried searching for this, but to no avail, so here's my question: I am planning to mount an IB315 to the rear deck shelf in my car, but not in the usual drop-in fashion where you screw it in from the top. It will be mounted with the front of the woofer touching the wood baffle and screwed in from behind the woofer. (Maybe there's a term for this, but it eludes me.) What diameter should the cutout be? The specs say 14.125" for the cut inner diameter, but I assume this is when mounting it normally. I am mounting it this way to leave room for the excursion so that the woofer won't touch the speaker grille cloth. I am trying to make as many modifications to my car…

i have a kicker zx1000.1....1000wts rms at 2 ohm planning on getiing a dual 1 ohm 10 inch or 12 inch bl for an 2001 eclipse need the recomended specs for the 10in bl and 12 inch bl.. which sub would be better for my setup and car?

I just bought two 15 fi Q's with BP and a aq2200 to power them at one ohm. Running 0ga and doing the big three also plan on another battery and a HO alt soon. My question is with the box setup,its my first time buliding one and would like to do it right. The max demensions are H 16 W 42 L 28,.(ported) i was thinking around 32 or 33 hz.. But i could be wrong? i want the lows and alot of bass but sound good aswell. my other question is should i put a divider and run a port for each sub or have them both to one port? Any input is helpfull thanks

alright so my question is what size and what would be the ideal tuning for a box in my truck. I mostly play a mix of rock and rap So what would u guys suggest would sound best i have a little over 11 cu ft but dont mind doing smaller just want would be best for my music So i guess im going for LSQ i have had no experience with 18s so any help would be apprciated

i sent you an email regarding a technical aspect of the BTL. its regarding info on if there is a way to physically measure the gap on a btl motor to identify a SPL motor from a Daily gapped motor. i talked to Nick about this issue, but after being convinced that my btl was a daily gapped motor...i now am doubting it. i took the woofer out of the box today and the sound it makes is just so mechanical metallic sounding on music. this to me would suggest a spl gapped motor. this motor originally belonged to kenny pollock and he said the SPL and daily option were not available at the time when this motor was made. however, it does have all the other options on it (fully loade…

I plan on ordering a BL12 and am not sure on what amp to get. I was looking at the Alpine PDX 1.1000 for one BL12. Should that do that job or is it not enough watts?

I am going to get a 15" Bl and i am going to power it with a sundown 1500 and i was wondering what i should get it with besides for daily.

I've been playing with my max dimensions and the biggest/best box I can come up with will be 12.33cu ft w/ 192.5sq in of port tuned to 32hz. I would like 13-14cu ft but the only way I can get any more box volume will be to shrink the port. Will these specs do okay for a daily driver that does part time competitions? Primarily it is a ground pounder. Thanks

alright guys i need some help on choosing a amp for my sub. i was thinking of getting a crunch 3000 pro 3000 watt rmms at one ohm for 439.00 is this a good amp or should i look in a different direction. i fogot to say the btl is fully loaded

I have a excursion w/2 -18 Q's and want to know if i can tune them to 30hz instead of 28hz? and should i have the port and subs firing to the rear or facing up? all my boxes always had the port and sub on the same side.I would face them to the rear. I would face my box up and the bass cuts in half. Will this do same if i face the subs up and the port to the rear? I want to get the most that i can get out of subs and box. Any input....

so i know that i cant make a flatwind coil option motor match a copper coil but how about a stock ssd match a copper coil one. anyone?

Hey scott. I am Using the hybrid SX woofer in a friends dodge quad truck console.....reatatching the factory console top back to it. I am not sure if i can squezze the needed area out to get enough air space for a ported enclosure. I will be using a eD nine.1 for the power to the woofer...the woofer is D2 and a 12"....Will the woofer perfrom well in a sealed enclsore? also what kind cubic footage do I need? Also do you happen to know off hand the displacement of the woofer? thanks carl

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good car audio shops in Ohio (Columbus would be best) that have worked with Fi audio before and could do a custom wall for 2 12" BTLs and probably 2 TD20001 r/f amps. Hi, I have bought 2 Fi BL's and I am in need of some advice for a good box for it. It will be going into a 2010 Dodge Charger and the space I am working with is 18" H, 32"W, and 32"L. I would like to tune the box to around 33 HZ. I will also be hooking this up to a Hifonics 2000 for right now...hope to move to the sae 1200d later on. Any comments on dimensions for a box and port would be greatly appreciated. Also an idea of where to point the subs and port to get a decent bout loud sound. Thanks!

So i only have like ~180 watts from the back two channels on my amp it is a JL J2 320.4. Im on a budget like mad here unfortunately and that amp was $99 not seeing anything else for that kinda money recently. So i snatched it up. I am running the front two channels on boston acoustic rallye series 5.25 co-ax, the back two channels will be bridged to a subwoofer that amp will do 60x4 at 4ohm 80x4 at 2 ohm. Ive read they are a tad bit underated so 160-180 watts is all i can expect. If i buy and X will that be enough amp sealed? I dont really think i wanna get a ported box right now. OKay so i got my car back... 15" Q in a (supposed to be) 4 cu.ft. ported box.... i love it so far and sounds great. i need to listen to it more tommorw. i hardly had any time today. but anyways, to the point... My box is 4 cu. ft. which means the port should be 48-64 square inches.... well i have 4 3" ports which is: 1.5^2 x 3.1415 x 4 = 28.2735 if the box is 4 cu ft and i replace the 3" ported with 4" ports, that would give me about 50 (50.264) square inches but how much would it take from the rest of the box? how would it change the sound and output? and how hard would it be to change the ports out? I think it may be restricting the sub a lil with such lil port area...…
