I got a baffel cut for my 12" box so I could convert it to accept my BL 10", I have a box uilt to spec for the BL only its for 2 BL's. I have not got around to ordering the 2nd (money) so I had to put it in something else until I get the second. My dual box is common chamber, so I cant run it that way without the other sub. So, I put the BL in the 2.15 cuft box powered by my 9.1, 1200 rms, its very loud and low, only, I know its not good for the sub to be in a box thats too big. I hear it will make the sub super efficient (spelling) , I am thinking to add some MDF to the box to shrink it down or run the sub at 4 ohms (450 rms) until I can get the 2nd one for the dual inst…

Hello everyone well I just orded 4 Q15s dual 1 ohm and bp power the box im building will have 2 seperate chambers, with 2 subs per chamber, with about 5 cuft per chamber,is that enough space?this is a sealed box. Also i will be using 3/4 inch MDF board to build the box, I will be putting double layers on the baffles, should I double layer all the other sides of the box or should I just brace inside to the single layers? thank you .................Brian

I just got rid of my suv and bought a car and I plan on putting my Q in my car but don't want to use the same box because it's just too big. Right now it's in 2.5 cubes at 32. I was thinking about going sealed for SQ but then again I want it to be loud enough for the sound to come from the trunk into the cabin of the car. I'm a low end feind, so I definitely want the lows. For a mixture of SQ and SPL while retaining some trunk space I was thinking 1.8cuft (FI recommended minimum) tuned low to like 28-30. How would this work compared to going sealed in 1.5 cubes?

I have a 04 Ford Expedition, i have built a enclosure behind the 3rd row seat, what i have is 2.46 cu ft, I would prefer a sealed enclosure, I know this is large for sealed, but i can shrink it if needed, my question is: should i go smaller ? It is powered by a Crossfire VR 1000d, I listen to mostly music like: Slayer, Exodus, I also listen to alot of classic rock, metal, punk, etc...ever so often I will play a few bass cd's I have from the days I did dB Drag shows. I really need a ported enclosure design for a 15" FI ssd. since it is going into a pretty small trunk the sub will have to face upwards. other than that i have no clue on to which way to face the port, what size the box should be .....................if it helps my trunk is only about 15" tall, so my box really cant exceed like 14" tall, wheel well to wheel well cant exceed 30" and same for the depth. I would greatly appreciate a nice design for it.

Hey, Im getting my sub on monday and I would like to start my build as soon as it comes in and i need to get some enclosure designs for it. I'm looking for at about 2cu. ft. with an L port tuned to 33 hertz width i can go as wide as i need so thats not a problem and length also but i cant go past 18 inches in depth. can somebody help me come up with something

alright so my question is what size and what would be the ideal tuning for a box in my truck. I mostly play a mix of rock and rap So what would u guys suggest would sound best i have a little over 11 cu ft but dont mind doing smaller just want would be best for my music So i guess im going for LSQ i have had no experience with 18s so any help would be apprciated

so i have a question? i have a Fi BL 12 that i beleive has a blown voice coil (soon to be fixed) but i was looking on the Fi re-cone page and started filling out the details and it asked me about the basket and the stacks? can some one please explain to me what those options mean? Every one input is aprreciated.

i know you guys are buisy and all but i have been trying to get information on gettin my 18'' BL either warranty or a recone because one of the voice coils only works sometimes. but i have a competition coming up in a couple weeks and i really need this sub fixed in order to get the points i need to go to state finals.

Well i built a sealed box with .6cubes net, its not the output i was expecting. I plan on going to a ported enclosure. its going in a 2008 frontier and there isnt enough room to have the sub and port up. the sub will be up and the port will be toward the passenger side. 1. port to the driver or passenger side? 2. i read the sticky and it said .5 - 1.2 cubes is it .5 min and 1.2 optimal or any where in between there will work? 3. should i do a longer narrower port or a shorter but wider one? sub 10" Q amp - hifonics 1208 (1200w @ 1ohm) (yeah right lol) if i get 1000watts out of it her happy max 15" high max 11" wide max 12" deep

I am trying to construct a ported box for the driver’s console of a 2007 Malibu VLX wakeboard boat. I would like to install an Fi BL12 and push it with a Kicker 1000.1 amplifier in 2 ohms. The dimensions of the box I plan to build are as follows 18” wide x 18” deep x 18.5” high. I am going to use a PSP (Precison Sound Products) port tuned to 32hz. Is this box size adequate for this sub? Will this sub be ok in this environment? (ie. 100% humidity, maybe a few drops of water and a little bit of full sun). Hi, I'm about to order an 18" btl I just got done going through the options i'm bit confused as to what ohm to get I want to run it at 1ohm the amp ill be using is a HCCA-D5000 monoblock my qustion is should I get a duel 2ohm and run it in parallel or what? how would I wire the sub if it was duel 1ohm, split the pos and neg in the box and hook up all the turmanals?

Hey scott. I am Using the hybrid SX woofer in a friends dodge quad truck console.....reatatching the factory console top back to it. I am not sure if i can squezze the needed area out to get enough air space for a ported enclosure. I will be using a eD nine.1 for the power to the woofer...the woofer is D2 and a 12"....Will the woofer perfrom well in a sealed enclsore? also what kind cubic footage do I need? Also do you happen to know off hand the displacement of the woofer? thanks carl

i am about to put my 10" BL running at 1 ohm on a lanzar opti2000d. This week I am installing an irragi 200 amp alt and a kinetik 2400. Will this setup destroy my sub? If so i'm going to get a DD9512. Let me know please!

I have the box in the pic below and I don't believe it's gonna be the best for my Q! I want the most output possible! I'm thinking around 2.5 cuft net with the port around 30 Hz! I have a Rockford Power 1001BD stable @ 2 ohms. I listen to all types of music but love really low notes!! So i only have like ~180 watts from the back two channels on my amp it is a JL J2 320.4. Im on a budget like mad here unfortunately and that amp was $99 not seeing anything else for that kinda money recently. So i snatched it up. I am running the front two channels on boston acoustic rallye series 5.25 co-ax, the back two channels will be bridged to a subwoofer that amp will do 60x4 at 4ohm 80x4 at 2 ohm. Ive read they are a tad bit underated so 160-180 watts is all i can expect. If i buy and X will that be enough amp sealed? I dont really think i wanna get a ported box right now. ok i order a 15" fi btl fully loaded with a dual 2 ohm. i have been researching a lil bit and im confused.... i will be using a sundown audio saz2000d for this sub how do i wire the subto my amp ??? should i have order it dual 1 ohm?? im confused///

Whats a good port length for the BTL as a daily driver tuned around the recommended 32 hz and 14in^2 per cube? 2000rms power. Enclosure will be glassed into the side of my trunk and I have around 4600in^3 before any displacements to work with. So should be around 2cuft after. Trying to see if I can make a ported enclosure work or not. Thanks!

OKay so i got my car back... 15" Q in a (supposed to be) 4 cu.ft. ported box.... i love it so far and sounds great. i need to listen to it more tommorw. i hardly had any time today. but anyways, to the point... My box is 4 cu. ft. which means the port should be 48-64 square inches.... well i have 4 3" ports which is: 1.5^2 x 3.1415 x 4 = 28.2735 if the box is 4 cu ft and i replace the 3" ported with 4" ports, that would give me about 50 (50.264) square inches but how much would it take from the rest of the box? how would it change the sound and output? and how hard would it be to change the ports out? I think it may be restricting the sub a lil with such lil port area...…
