Im in the process of having a box built for my tahoe for a 18" BTL. my boxes dont always come out the way i want so i decided to have this one made by someone who knows what they are doin.. well me being the kind of person i am.. ill bring the info i have from him to you guys and hope to get some support or get me in the right direction. Guy is fully aware of the BTL's and has made several boxes for them in the past. He says he would like to make it 8.5 cubes tuned to 30-35hz and says he will give it a little bit more port area than Fi recommends... does this sound ok to you guys? anyone have something similar or done anything similar. I know here in the fi forums its say…

  3. I have the box in the pic below and I don't believe it's gonna be the best for my Q! I want the most output possible! I'm thinking around 2.5 cuft net with the port around 30 Hz! I have a Rockford Power 1001BD stable @ 2 ohms. I listen to all types of music but love really low notes!! If someone could tell me the dimensions of a box with port dimensions it would REALLY HELP ME ALOT!!! Or, if you have other recommendations!!! Thanks!!!

I have a 15 inch q with bp already, and I need a second one. Just wondering if the parameters will still be close enough that they can share an enclosure and be alright. The new and the old.

Well i built a sealed box with .6cubes net, its not the output i was expecting. I plan on going to a ported enclosure. its going in a 2008 frontier and there isnt enough room to have the sub and port up. the sub will be up and the port will be toward the passenger side. 1. port to the driver or passenger side? 2. i read the sticky and it said .5 - 1.2 cubes is it .5 min and 1.2 optimal or any where in between there will work? 3. should i do a longer narrower port or a shorter but wider one? sub 10" Q amp - hifonics 1208 (1200w @ 1ohm) (yeah right lol) if i get 1000watts out of it her happy max 15" high max 11" wide max 12" deep

  7. I have two Fi 12" old x series woofers the ones sold on the black fiday special. My question is, what is the recomended enclosure volume per speaker for a ported box? I have had them in a sealed 1 cubic foot per sub box since I bought them on black friday. Which has been ok for the time being, but I have moved to a hotter climate, and need a ported box to help cool the woofers as well as get the most spl out of the woofers.

I got new 2 Fi 18's Q series unloaded, no options on them at all. whats the most amount of RMS power I can put on each one???? Im getting the Audiopipe 3000d amp and wiring them at 2 ohms and that would put 1500 rms on them.

Whats a good port length for the BTL as a daily driver tuned around the recommended 32 hz and 14in^2 per cube? 2000rms power. Enclosure will be glassed into the side of my trunk and I have around 4600in^3 before any displacements to work with. So should be around 2cuft after. Trying to see if I can make a ported enclosure work or not. Thanks!

If anyone has tried this could you tell me what you think of it? I'm trying to build a wall that is all funky shaped. Trying to smash 4 18's into a Ford Explorer. found this program but would just like to know if anyone else has used and what you think of it. The bottom is 37" deep x 52" wide then go to 33" deep x 18.5 " high. Top is 33" deep x 52" wide 18.5" high Grand total of 37" tall x 52" wide and the depth. Trying to utilize every bit of room I can so I can still have room for batteries and amps. Plus the ports gotta go in there to. Any help on any other programs or any ideas would be appreciated. Got it drawn out on paper. Kinda to scale it down to where it will …

I have just purchased 2 15" BTL Fully loaded. They are on 2 mmats 2100.1. I just got them and they SLAM!!!!! I am seriously and deleriously happy BUT I know I could be happier. My box is very small for these subs and I drive a big car (Crown Vic) so I know a new box is a good idea. My current box dimensions are 48" Width 17" Height 17" Depth, measured OD......Port is 4.5" wide divided with .5" 15" deep 15" height, measured ID. This car is CLEAN CLEAN so with that in mind I don't want to go tearing it apart...totally. I dont mind ripping out the metal behind the seat or cutting the rear deck. Here is my goal: I want this system to BANG and does already but my trunk sounds…

  21. http://imgur.com/a/lNcLR#0 i have two sets of images its this album. a 33hz tune and a 36hz tune. i intend to build the entire box minus one side (leaving it to be held on by only screws) and change out the port as i test the subs volume. once i have things set ill glue on the final side. i would greatly appreciate it if someone would check my math and offer and criticism on what i have laid out here. thank you very much.

Hey everyone. I'm in need of some plans for a ported enclosure for two 12" Fi SSDs (with copper coils if it matters). This will be my first box build...but I'm confident I can make a nice quality box. I'm just having some trouble coming up with some plans. Does anybody have some drawn up I can use for reference? Any help at all is greatly appreciated! Here's some info you all might need: I want the width to be 44 inches. It's going in the back of my FJ Cruiser and I am trying to build something like this: This picture shows what the actual box looks like: The width in the back is about 45 inches. So I think a 44 inch box would fit nicely like his. I'm mostly looking for…

  24. Started by QuestionMan,

I have made up plans for a 6cu ft box, after port and displacement. The port would be 4" Wide and tuned about in between 33 and 34hz. If i made the port 5" wide, it would take the box all the way down to 5.1 cu ft or so to be tuned to 34. The port would be 21.5 in tall. It just seems to me that 4" is small, but then again thats a lot of box volume to take up. I'm really hoping i'm just more worried than i should be about port size, and the 6 cu ft will work out. Any suggestions?
