my cousin has two tc9 12" subs that are blown. We were wondering if we could order baskets for 15" SSD recones to fit on the magnets. As far as the mounting screws go, they should about all be the same mounting area, correct? Do you think this would work, right recone?

I was wondering if 140in of port is to small for 2 of the Bl 18's? When I build my box the port would be 20h x 7w x 12d that would be 32hz. The box would be 40h x53w x14d. Should they be tuned lower or higher? Thanx Jason

I have a pair of 10" BL's. I'm running these with an MA Audio HK4000D, I've been running it at 2 ohms so they'd get about 1900 watts each. I'm planning to drop the ohm load to .5 and send them more power, at least 2500 watts each. What would the recommended enclosure size be for this increased power? I'll figure out the ports and such after but I want to know what size enclosure would be right for that amount of power.

Can someone tell me if this port size is right for what I want. Box size is 12.91 cubes after subs and port displacement. the port size is 23hx7wx14.56d = 32Hz. Is this right? 2-18'' Q's will be used in this box. Looking for it to hit really hard and will this box hit loud and hard? the subs will see about 6.45 cubes each. Is this box good for the Q's to hit really hard in?ready to build today....

Hello all, I am wanting to purchase a bl 18, but possibly a q 18. The dimensions of the box i can make are around 16h 32.5w and 22d with the sub facing up. I have a couple of questions, first, does it sound better to have the port on the side of the box or going along the bottom? Secondly, would that be enough space, i calculated it to be around 5 cubes after speaker and port displacement. Lastly, this is going in a celica gt-s hatchback and i was wondering how much room do i need between the back of the car and the front of the box? I think with these measurements i left out like 6 inches between the two. Any help is appreciated.

My buddy is trying to put a 18" fi ssd fully loaded in the back of his eagle summit van.. He has about 1200 watt rms of power to run the sub.. There is two different set of max dimensions we can use ( it all depends on how tall the box will actually be. The first set is a tall narrow box and our max dimensions are 27 1/4 tall X 39 wide X 15 Deep. And the other set is 20 1/2 deep X 39 wide X 21 tall. Any help would be wonderful... Would really like start build on box as soon as we can.. Also I would like it ported wit a tune right around 32 hz. And I not sure wat would sound best wit the speaker direction and port direction so any advice is wonderful.

ill be ordering the 12" ssd's soon and temporarily they will be going in a prefab (i hate prefab) dual twelve box with the port in the middle. 2cuft per woofer. when i put my other woofers in there they were loud as f**k but when i played a song like bass mechanik moonstone that has a 20hz bassline they bottomed out and almost broke the voice coil. heres my dilemma i have been seing a lot of people use the boxes that are similar to the box i have exept the port isnt in the middle of the woofers its on the side.ex: http://subwoofertools.com/forum/ported-box...mp;Fs=&CE=0 all of the vids ive seen they either burp the woofers or they play some crap from jeezy, never any…

The trunk of my car( 1999 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI) has opening that connects the trunk with the inside cabin of the car. I was wondering if facing the port towards this opening instead of towards the rear of the car would increase SPL or hurt it. Will the air be pushed into the cabin of the car or will it just be trapped in the trunk bouncing around on it self. I will prob end up leaving a gap of about 3" - 5" between the enclosure and the actual opening because the trunk gets narrow towards the back. Would I have to place the port directly in front of the opening or would having the port on one side of the box facing the front of the car matter? Below is a pic of …

Hello guys, New to the Fi World and need some help making the right subwoofer choice between 10" or 12" before ordering. Hi everyone, first time poster on this forum. Posting all the way from Australia. Okay, So I'm in the planning stage for a system in the new car, and I've just started doing up some rough design/placement ideas on Inventor, when I ran in to a problem. I'm designing this for a Fi Q12 ported, and I know the recommended enclosure sizes given by Fi of 1.8-2.5 cf @ 28-33Hz. However, that is quite a large margin of variation for a recommended enclosure volume (0.7 cf and 5Hz tuning frequency can affect the sound a fair bit). As I'm not a massive fan of guessing/speculating about the best enclosure volume, I decided to pull out the calculator and the old loudspeaker design coo…

I am hoping some one can help me design a ported box for a single 12" Q I am going to run it off of a DLS A6, 1200 watts rms x 1 @ 1 ohm the DLS amp only has a subsonic filter fixed at 25 Hz. The dimensions that will fit in the trunk of my 2003 Nissan Altima are: 33" Length x 14" Height x ? Depth is the only variable my front stage consists of DLS UP6 (6.5" components, mid in doors and tweeters in A-pillars) the front stage is bi-amped and ran off of a Tru Technology B-745 ( 100 watts rms x 4) my goal is for the sub to blend well with the front stage and to sound musical and dynamic.

Well, here's the deal. I've been running my 15" Q in a sealed box for the last month or so and I am wanting to build a ported box for it sometime soon and need help getting a design together. I have no problem building stuff, I'm just no good at getting something together that will be right for my application (right ft^3, right port size, cut sizes, etc.). Below is a pic. of the largest outside dimensions I can possibly go with. The 4" rise is to clear the tranny hump (it's going in an ext. cab silverado.) I'm wanting something tuned to ~33 hz or so. If anyone can get together a design for me, that would be great. Just send me a PM or reply on here and we can go into fu…
